The Lantern Rite Festival was in full swing. Colorful lanterns floated gently in the sky, their warm glow painting Liyue Harbor in vibrant shades of gold and red. It was an evening when the entire city came together to celebrate, to tell old stories, and to make wishes for the year to come. This year, though, there was something new in the air: Pokémon.
In the heart of the celebration, Hiroshi had set up a stall where people could come and learn about Pokémon, interact with them, and even get their own partners if they were ready for it. The stall was adorned with lanterns, with Zekrom standing proudly beside it, its presence drawing in curious onlookers. Hiroshi, as always, had a smile on his face as he spoke passionately about Pokémon.
"And here we have Mareep!" Hiroshi announced to a group of excited children, pointing towards the fluffy electric sheep Pokémon that was grazing peacefully near the stall. "Mareep can generate electricity with its wool. It's both adorable and useful!" Mareep gave a cheerful bleat, and the children giggled as they reached out to pet its soft wool.
Zekrom rumbled softly, watching over the scene. "Hiroshi, it appears your efforts are paying off. The people of Liyue are becoming quite fond of Pokémon."
Hiroshi looked up at Zekrom, his smile widening. "It's a slow process, but it's happening. One person at a time, we're showing everyone just how wonderful Pokémon can be."

Not far from Hiroshi's stall, the ever-diligent Ganyu found herself wandering through the festival grounds, her arms loaded with paperwork that she was hoping to finish before the night was over. However, her partner Snorunt had different plans. It darted around her feet, chirping excitedly and tugging on her robe, clearly wanting her to take a break and enjoy the festivities.
Ganyu sighed softly, a small smile tugging at her lips. "Alright, alright, Snorunt. I suppose a short break wouldn't hurt."
Snorunt jumped up in excitement, grabbing hold of Ganyu's hand and leading her through the festival grounds. The two soon found themselves at a small stall selling sweet treats. Ganyu looked down at her partner, her smile growing as she knelt down. "You want a treat, don't you, Snorunt?"
Snorunt nodded eagerly, its eyes sparkling. Ganyu chuckled softly and bought a few sugar-coated almond sweets. She handed one to Snorunt, who took it carefully and began munching on it happily. Ganyu watched, her heart warming at the sight.
"You deserve it," she said softly. "You've been working so hard lately, helping me with everything."
Nearby, Hu Tao skipped through the crowd, her Shuppet floating alongside her, both of them clearly up to no good. Hu Tao spotted Ganyu and grinned mischievously, tiptoeing up behind her.
"Boo!" Hu Tao exclaimed, causing Ganyu to jump slightly, her eyes widening in surprise. Snorunt, however, simply looked at Hu Tao and gave her a polite nod before continuing with its treat.
Ganyu let out a sigh of relief, her cheeks turning pink. "Hu Tao... you scared me."
Hu Tao giggled, twirling around her Shuppet. "It's the Lantern Rite! A perfect time for a little harmless fun!" She then looked at Snorunt, who was still munching on its treat, unfazed by the surprise. "Your partner's pretty chill, Ganyu. I like that."
Ganyu smiled gently, giving Snorunt a fond pat. "Yes, Snorunt keeps me balanced. It's always calm, even when things get hectic."
Hu Tao nodded, her grin widening. "Speaking of which, you should come with me! There's a storytelling circle down by the docks. I bet you'd love it! They're telling ghost stories!"
Ganyu hesitated, looking at her stack of paperwork. But Snorunt tugged on her sleeve, looking up at her with wide eyes. Ganyu sighed, her expression softening. "Alright... I suppose one story wouldn't hurt."
Hu Tao clapped her hands, her eyes gleaming. "That's the spirit! Come on, Shuppet! Let's go spook some people!"

Meanwhile, Ningguang and Keqing found themselves wandering through the festival, taking in the sights and sounds of the Lantern Rite. Ningguang's Rotom floated beside her, its electric energy crackling softly as it admired the lanterns. Keqing, with her new Pokémon partner Pichu perched on her shoulder, looked around with a thoughtful expression.
"It truly is a beautiful night," Ningguang remarked, her gaze fixed on the lanterns drifting into the sky. "The Lantern Rite always brings a sense of peace to Liyue."
Keqing nodded in agreement, though her eyes were filled with contemplation. "Yes, it does. But I've also been thinking about how much things are changing—how Pokémon are becoming a part of our lives here. It's... a lot to take in."
Ningguang looked at Keqing, her expression gentle. "Change can be overwhelming, but it's also an opportunity. Pokémon have already brought so much to Liyue—joy, companionship, and even new ways to approach our work. Rotom has been invaluable in improving our communications. And you and Pichu seem to have formed quite the bond."
Keqing glanced at Pichu, who was currently looking around with wide, curious eyes. A small smile tugged at her lips. "I suppose you're right. Pichu has been... a wonderful companion. It's just that I'm not used to relying on anyone or anything else."
Ningguang nodded knowingly. "I understand. But remember, relying on others doesn't make you weaker. It allows you to grow in ways you wouldn't have imagined." She reached out, gently patting Rotom, who buzzed happily in response.
Keqing looked at Ningguang, her expression softening. "Thank you, Lady Ningguang. I think... I needed to hear that."
Ningguang smiled. "Anytime, Keqing. Now, how about we make a wish? The lanterns are waiting."

Down by the docks, Hu Tao had dragged Ganyu to a storytelling circle. The crowd gathered around as an old storyteller began weaving tales of ancient monsters, lost treasures, and mysterious spirits that roamed Liyue. Shuppet floated around the group, occasionally letting out a soft, ghostly "boo," eliciting laughter from the children and amused smiles from the adults.
Ganyu found herself relaxing as she listened to the stories, her paperwork momentarily forgotten. She looked down at Snorunt, who was sitting on her lap, its eyes wide with fascination as it listened to the stories. Ganyu smiled, her heart feeling light. It was moments like this that made all the hard work worthwhile.
Hu Tao nudged Ganyu playfully. "See? Isn't this better than working all night?"
Ganyu nodded, her smile growing. "Yes, you're right. It's nice to just... be here, with everyone."
Hu Tao grinned, leaning back on her hands. "That's the spirit! The Lantern Rite is all about being together, making memories, and sharing laughter. And, of course, maybe a little mischief." She winked, and Shuppet twirled around her in agreement.
As the storyteller finished his tale, the crowd clapped, and the children eagerly began sharing their own versions of ghost stories, each one more exaggerated than the last. Ganyu and Hu Tao listened, their laughter mingling with the sound of the waves gently lapping at the docks.

Later in the evening, Hiroshi decided to take a break from his stall, leaving Zekrom in charge. He wandered through the festival grounds, enjoying the sights and sounds of the Lantern Rite. It was then that he spotted Chongyun, who was sitting quietly by a small pond, Duskull floating beside him.
Hiroshi approached, a smile on his face. "Chongyun! Enjoying the festival?"
Chongyun looked up, nodding slightly. "Yes. It's nice to be here, where it's calm." He gestured to the pond, where the reflection of the lanterns shimmered on the surface. "Duskull and I have been watching the lanterns. It's... peaceful."
Duskull let out a soft, ghostly sound, its single eye fixed on the glowing lanterns. Hiroshi sat down beside Chongyun, looking at the pond. "It really is beautiful," he agreed. "And it's nice to take a moment to appreciate it. Sometimes, I get so caught up in my mission that I forget to just... be present."
Chongyun glanced at Hiroshi, then nodded. "I know what you mean. It's easy to get lost in everything that needs to be done. But tonight, it feels like everything is... just right."
Hiroshi smiled, looking at Duskull. "And we have our Pokémon to thank for that, don't we? They remind us to enjoy the simple things."
Duskull floated closer, leaning against Chongyun, who patted it gently. "Yes. Duskull has been a wonderful companion. I'm grateful for it."

As the night drew on, the people of Liyue gathered by the harbor to release their lanterns. Wishes were whispered into the night sky as hundreds of lanterns floated upwards, their light mingling with the stars. Ganyu, Hu Tao, Chongyun, Ningguang, Keqing, Xingqiu, and Beidou all gathered, each holding their own lanterns, their Pokémon by their sides.
"To a future filled with laughter, friendship, and adventure," Beidou said, her voice carrying a sense of hope.
"To a Liyue where Pokémon and people live in harmony," Ningguang added, her eyes reflecting the glow of the lanterns.
"To new challenges and new friendships," Xingqiu said, smiling down at Finneon.
One by one, they released their lanterns, watching as they drifted up into the sky, carrying their hopes and dreams with them. The Pokémon watched in awe, their eyes wide as they took in the beauty of the scene.
It was a night of stories, laughter, and wishes—a night that none of them would soon forget. And as the lanterns floated higher, Hiroshi knew that this was just the beginning. There were still many people to reach, many Pokémon to introduce, and many stories yet to be written.
But for now, this moment was enough.
