Chapter 3 - Calm Down, Darling

"By the way, what's your name?"

"What's yours?"

"Darla, my name's Darla".

"Darla? Darla". He smiled seemingly enjoying the feel on his mouth, like he was muttering his devotion.

"Darla?"

She looked up at him.

"You're all red, Darla". He pointed, like it was the most amazing observation he'd made since the beginning of time.

"Well, don't keep on calling my name over and over again, you're making me all flustered for no reason and you're not telling me your name either!" She defended.

He laughed in response which annoyed Darla who couldn't bear his teasing any longer and just decided to continue with her morning, long forgotten the events of that same morning.

There was still so much to do.

She hadn't watered the flowers, cleaned the house, now that was a necessity, she hadn't let out the chickens from their coop and neither had she had BREAKFAST! That was a no-no.

In her hurry to get things done, she'd dropped the Wolf at the back of her mind and then she began working.

Starting from her background garden where you could see the meticulous tending of it's keeper, she watered and pampered each stem down to it's root ensuring none were left out.

Then she scurried off to the chickens, she called them her mini children, gently coaxing them out of their nests, she gathered the eggs from those that had layed a few and cleaned the mess from the day before while also letting them out for some air.

"Cluck! Cluck!"

Oh no! That!

Oh Goody! The chickens! The Wolf!

"Wolf! You lay a finger on my chickens and I wouldn't hesitate to substitute you for my next meat dish, you silly fool!" She yelled the moment she caught Wolf smiling down at the clucking hen in his arms.

"How could you even think something so cruel, you just wanted to bite down? What are you, a vampire?" She questioned.

"Well, I was hungry and you hadn't fed me" He countered in an almost annoyed manner.

"Yeah, breakfast, right!"

Instantly she grabbed some eggs and hurried in.

"I require meat, Darla. Red, bloody and raw. Not some puny chicken eggs." He spat out the last part with disdain.

"You want meat? You'll get meat! Cruel beast, eating my chickens!" She glared at him as she grabbed the poor chicken he'd almost assaulted and stormed off towards the chicken.

He smiled, amused at the manner of anger she'd just displayed.

Soon enough, the food was out.

Scrambled eggs, toast, milk and chicken (fried).

She smirked triumphantly as she welcomed him to eat, telling him with her gaze to help himself to his heart's desire.

"You wanted meat, raw? Sorry, I don't know how to prepare that, you might want to get that yourself next time. But you seriously have the guts to look me in the eyes and tell me you want meat, raw and bloody? Why not cut yourself up, huh?! What's that on your wounded self, not blood? Why not go ahead and gobble it all up since you're craving bloody raw meat! If you so desire to stay injured and weak for the rest of your days, fine by me, not my body! Stupid Wolf!" She yelled, but she was barely holding herself back from breaking down in tears.

Turning around abruptly, she was going to leave until she was being held by none other than the Wolf.

"Calm down, Darling. I'm sorry. It's really all my fault, I'm sorry, Darling."
