"Arghhhhhhhhhh", rang out a high pitched scream from Darla, obviously.
Rhodes rushed out, stumbling over a few obstacles on the way, on getting to where she was he saw that she was crouched beside a flower pot. One had to applaud her meticulousness in ensuring her flowers werel protected even in her state of panic.
"What's wrong? Are you okay? Are you hurt?" He questioned worriedly.
"It's a–uhm, a rodent, a big one! It had limbs this big and it approached me, it wanted to attack me because I stopped it from ruining my flowers. It was so fierce, I'm so scared, Wolf!" She cried out pitifully.
He was surprised, she was this terrified of a simple rodent? What then was her thought process when she decided to bring him, a wolf, into her home. If anything at all was to eat her up, he was definitely the first on that list, not like he was going to allow some other animal close to her, so what could a puny rodent is. But he wasn't going to tell her that of course.
"Easy, darling. You're good now. Where has it gone? Do you want me to get it out?" He said get it out because he knew if he told her he was going to kill it she might yet freak out.
"It ran off,but I hit it's head with my shovel, I couldn't let it off that easily after it almost ruined my baby flowers. But, hold me?" She asked him, blinking her lovely eyes up at him, like he could ever say no to her.
"Come here, darling", he even found himself eager to have her in his arms.
Loving the way her body seemed to fit perfectly in his arms, be carried her to the living area and held her while he sat.
"Am I pulling on your injuries, Wolf?!" She asked, alarmed trying to get up but he held her in place, he wouldn't lose the chance he had to hold her now, especially when she'd taken the initiative to send herself to him. He could confidently admit that the rest of the injuries only looked scary, but they didn't hurt to the extent that he wouldn't be able to hold her.
"No, Darla. I can hold you pretty good without pulling on the wound. Let.me hold you."
"Says the wolf who had me checking up on him just for a light pull on the same wound. Don't think I didn't realize you had only called on me because you felt I wasn't paying attention to you, Wolf. I know." She calmly spoke.
She knew, she did.
Sweet Darla, what a pity she had to rescue a black-hearted wolf, now. Her knowing just happened to make things a lot more convenient because she'd successfully caught his attention and now, he doesn't want to leave.
"Little darling, look at me", he coaxed, "are you mad? I had no other option, you were too busy I thought you'd forgotten about me. I'm sorry, but I can't promise you there won't be a next time. But I can promise that I'll never bring any harm to you. Nevertheless, you already brought me into your home, you have to take responsibility, darling." He started on a rather serious note, but his teasing caused her to blush furiously. She tried to hide but she was currently sitting in his arms, so there was only so much she could do to avoid him.
"Hold still, darling. I'm still a convalescent." He told her.
After holding her for a while longer, he reluctantly let go of her.
"I'll make you something to eat", she said and then she ran off.
He smiled, a big one.
