Alex left with his ironical smile, while Mark was holding his fist tightly.
Mrs. Sanders noticed that Mark was angry, she comforted him, "Don't mad at this silly bastard, Alex is just a uneducated loser, treating your kindness as shit, how ungrateful!"
Mark took a deep breath, he tried to pretend to be a gentle man, forced a smile and said, "It's OK Mrs. Sanders."
Elisa collapsed on the couch and took her head into her hands. At that point, reality began to dawn on her. If she signed those papers, her three-year marriage with Alex would automatically come to an end and she wasn't sure if she was ready for that move because as far as she was concerned, she wasn't done using him.
She darted her gaze to the papers on the table and shook her head in filial objection. She had been completely taken off guard.
Wasn't that what you wanted Elisa? She asked herself.
She had always dreamt of the moment she'd be with Mark, out of Alex's life for good and now that her dreams were coming true, she was starting to grow depressed instead. Probably because she never expected Alex to react this way.
She shut her eyes for a moment and the scene that occurred a while ago fluttered in her mind. Not only was Alex ready to discard her quickly like she never mattered to him, but he stormed out without looking back.
Meanwhile, Mark was paying attention to the sudden change in Elisa's countenance. She was biting inside her cheeks while gloom was spread across her face.
He moved closer to her and settled on the couch beside her. She lifted her head with a fake smile plastered on her face.
"You don't seem happy."
She gave a broader smile, a fake one.
"Of course I'm happy. We will be together now and nothing will stand in our way." She replied.
Mark spread his arm around her. "Well, you don't look happy."
She fell on his chest. "I'm just worried about my new song."
"Really?"
"You know as someone new in the industry, I must put all hands on deck to hit fame. I believe this particular song I've been working on will help me establish a presence out there." Elisa said.
"Did you speak to the producer we talked about?" Elisa remembered when she shared her musical goals with him, Mark had promised to connect her with a producer.
He had bragged over how he was going to link her up to renowned producers that won Grammys.
Elisa believes that if she brings such people on board, she will finally get the visibility she always craved for.
On his part, Mark didn't fulfill his promise of connecting Elisa to any producer. He was simply blabbering, and with the way her mood was, he decided to come up with another lie.
"Yes, baby. I spoke to a few and soon, one of them will take up your project." Mark replied with his lashes flickering.
Elisa had stars in her eyes. She immersed him in a hug. "You're just the best, Mark. I knew you'd do it."
He leaned toward her and pecked her on the cheek. "I'm Mark Milton, babe! Speaking to those producers was easy as pie judging by my reputation."
"You're quite influential."
"Oh yes. From the moment one of the producers learned who I was, she didn't waste time to meet me so you shouldn't worry about a thing. Your song is going to hit the streets like a volcano." Mark boasted.
Elisa broke out laughing.
"I'll also ensure you collaborate with global artists. I'll ask that mysterious composer to write a song for you, you know, he was really popular recently."
The one Mark was talking about was a very mysterious composer, no one knew who he/she was, they didn't even know it's a male or female.
"Oh really?" Replied a happy Elisa. "So you asked that composer to write my new song? That song I've been practicing these days?"
"Ah...yes, oh he already sent that song to you?" Mark was stunned for one second, but soon he made up his lie.
But Elisa got a song from that mysterious composer? How?
Whatever, no matter who helped her, she would thank me.
Mark smiled. Elisa was really easy to cheat.
Elisa tightened her arms around him. "You're just the best, baby. Thank you so much."
"Anything for you, baby." He replied and quickly looked away.

Alex was driving when his phone began to ring. He ignored the call and continued driving down the straight path ahead of him. He had forgotten to connect his Bluetooth and he wasn't the kind of person that would respond to a call while he was driving.
When the call persisted, Alex stole a glance at the phone screen and after discovering who the caller was, he drove to a safe path and pulled the car to a halt.
It wasn't the kind of call he would ignore. He quickly responded.
"Phile, hope it's not about that 10 million dollars business." Alex said.
"No it's not, master! We found her! The girl you asked us to look for! " Phile said with joy.
The corners of Alex's mouth twitched with excitement. "Really? Where is she? When can I meet her?" He kept flinging questions.
"You would have met her at the party White Moon Company was throwing tonight but it's no longer a possibility."
"Why?" Alex demanded with a frown.
"There was an accident so you can't meet her. I'm sorry." The caller said.
"What accident?" Alex cried out and fell back on the seat. Then a name wavered in his mind. He sat up with his brows raised and adjusted the phone around his ear. "Did you say White Moon Company?"
"Yes sir."
"That name rings a bell." Alex wondered out loud.
Alex heard the caller sigh over the phone. "Wait a minute sir. Don't you remember?"
Alex gave his forehead a delicate scrape.
"White Moon is the entertainment company you bought three months ago." The caller pointed out.
"I remember!" Alex professed.
In his bid to promote his wife's career, Alex bought off the company to use it as a medium towards achieving her musical career.
He even found that mysterious composer to write a song for Elisa, but they finally divorced.
