Chapter 14: Ava's pack
Ava's POV
As the new alpha, I faced my pack's skepticism. Some resented Kael's presence, while others saw him as a necessary ally. I had to unite them.
"Ava, we need to establish patrols," Max said, his voice practical.
"Agreed," I replied. "Kael, will you lead the night patrol?"
His eyes locked onto mine, and I saw his acceptance.
Kael's POV
Patrolling with Ava's pack was a test. They eyed me warily, but I proved myself. We combed the forest, hunting rogue shifters.
"Ava's got spirit," one pack member said.
"Yeah, and a mate who's got her back," I replied.
Their nods signaled acceptance.
Max's POV
Watching Kael lead the night patrol, I saw his strength. Maybe this outsider wasn't so bad.
"Ava trusts him," I told the pack. "We should too."
Their murmurs softened.
Elijah's POV
Ava's ancient magic grew stronger. The lunar pact's power stirred.
"Ava, your heritage is key," I said. "Unlock your true potential."
Her eyes sparkled.
Luna's POV (Pack Member)
Ava's leadership surprised me. She listened, adapted, and protected. Kael stood by her side, loyal.
Perhaps this new alpha and her mate were what we needed.
Ava's POV
Elijah's words echoed in my mind: "Unlock your true potential." I sought solitude, delving into ancient texts.
In the forest, under moonlight, I discovered a hidden glade. The air pulsed with lunar energy.
I raised my hands, and magic swirled around me. The lunar pact's power coursed through my veins.
Kael's POV
Patrolling, I sensed Ava's magic. Stronger. Purer.
I followed the energy to the glade. Ava stood, radiant, her eyes shining.
"You're unlocking your potential," I whispered.
Ava's smile lit the night.
Max's POV
Luna approached me, her voice barely above a whisper.
"Max, I've seen changes in Ava. She's stronger."
"I know," I replied. "Kael's influence?"
Luna hesitated.
"Maybe. But what if it's more?"
Elijah's POV
Ava's progress thrilled me. The lunar pact's power grew within her.
But darkness loomed. External threats.
"Ava, your pack needs protection," I warned.
Her determination hardened.
"We'll defend our pack," she vowed.
