Chapter 18: Triads
Ava's POV
I stared at Eira, her words echoing in my mind. "The Shadow's Return"? What did it mean? The vampires' eyes seemed to burn with an otherworldly hunger. Kael's grip on my hand tightened.
"Eira, what's happening?" I asked, fear creeping in.
"The prophecy unfolds," Eira replied. "Your power will awaken soon. Trust Kael, and seek the Triad."
As she vanished, the moon's glow intensified. I felt an energy stir within me.
The Triad's Perspective
In the realm of the ancients, three beings convened.
"Ava's power awakens," declared Lyra, goddess of the moon.
"Balance must be maintained," added Arin, god of the sun.
"Shadow's Return threatens all," warned Thorold, god of the land.
Together, they wove a tapestry of fate. The threads of destiny converged, guiding Ava toward her true purpose. The Triad's whispers echoed through the cosmos, reaching those attuned to the ancient lore.
Kael's POV
Memories haunted me – Victor's manipulation, the darkness within. These vampires stirred those demons. I fought to protect Ava, but doubts crept in. Was I strong enough? The forest seemed to darken, reflecting my inner turmoil.
Vampire Leader, Cassius' POV
I watched Ava, sensing her untapped power. My loyalists awaited my signal. The Shadow's Return would bring us dominance. But rival clans, like the Bloodstones, would not yield easily. I needed an alliance... or annihilation.
Within my chambers, advisors urged caution. "Cassius, the Bloodstones—"
"Will kneel," I finished. "Ava's power is key. Secure her, and our reign begins."
My gaze fell upon a mysterious letter, sealed with the Bloodstone crest. A proposal? Or deception? I would not be swayed.
"Cassius, we have a visitor," a guard announced.
"Enter."
A hooded figure stepped forward, their eyes gleaming with intrigue.
"The Shadow's Return," they whispered. "Shall we begin?"
