Chapter 13: Rebuilding Legacy
(Ava's POV)
As I stepped foot onto my pack's ruined lands, memories came flooding back. The pain of losing my parents, the struggle to survive, and the longing for a home. But today, I returned with a newfound purpose - to rebuild and reclaim my heritage.
Kael stood steadfast beside me, his eyes burning with determination. Together, we faced the pack, some of whom eyed Kael with hostility. My brother, Max, emerged from the crowd, his gaze narrowing as he took in the stranger.
"You brought an outsider," Max growled, his voice low and menacing.
My heart swelled with love for my brother, but I knew I had to assert my authority. "Kael is my mate," I declared, her voice firm. "And he's here to help us rebuild."
Max's expression softened, and he nodded. "Sister's choice."
The pack murmured, some still wary, but my calming presence began to soothe the tension. Elijah, the wise elder, stepped forward.
"Ava, you're the last of the Lunar Bloodline," he reminded her. "Your ancestors forged the lunar pact. It's time to reclaim your legacy."
My eyes locked onto Kael's, and I knew what I had to do. "Gather the pack," I ordered. "We have a new beginning to forge."
(Kael's POV)
As the pack assembled, Ava shared her vision - a future where they thrived, protected, and strong. I stood beside her, my support unwavering.
"Name a new alpha," Elijah suggested, his eyes twinkling.
My gaze locked onto Ava's. "You're the rightful leader," I said, my voice filled with conviction.
The pack murmured, and Max stepped forward.
"Ava, lead us," he urged.
And with that, Ava became the new alpha of her pack.
But challenges loomed ahead. Hostile pack members still simmered with resentment, and external threats lurked in the shadows. Ava and I would have to navigate treacherous waters to secure our future.
