Chapter 19 - Kill Him Or Get Him Expelled?

Grimoires are the essence of the world, heaven, and the hell.

Man is the spirit of the world.

Grimoires are refined, nurtured, and used by Book Lords. A grimoire without a Book Lord is just a decorative artifact.

Also, a Book Lord without a grimoire is similar to a person without limbs.

The two work hand in hand and depend on each other for survival.

One would think, what is so difficult about keeping a magical book in the Primeval world?

Once a person obtains a grimoire, they must feed it with the things it needs to keep it functioning. This may differ from lifespan to even something vast like water.

This process is called nurturing.

Grimoires are like babies; they need to be treated with tender care for them to Book Lords in the future well.

Essence is made from the spirit. Grimoires are made from spirit, which may be either of a person, beast, or that of heaven, hell and earth.

Grimoires are generated from various things about a spirit; this process differs from person to person.

A grimoire is formed once by a Book Lord, and when a person reaches the 2nd stage of the Spirit realm without generating a grimoire, then they never will and will only hope to select another grimoire as their vital grimoire.

A vital grimoire can be changed, but this will cause a backlash to a Book Lord that might lead to death.

A vital grimoire is the core grimoire and also ranks up when a Book Lord increases a realm.

The second method of obtaining a grimoire is by fusion. The fusion can happen between grimoires, between cultivation materials, and also between grimoires and cultivation materials.

This method is the toughest, and most of the time, it results in failure, resulting in the loss of the materials and grimoires used in the fusion.

The third method might sound easy, yet it is difficult.

This method is plundering, taking grimoires from dead corpses. The difficult part is that one might engage in battle to use this method with the risk of the person self-detonating, leaving nothing but ashes behind.

The fourth method is to use spells to steal grimoires, but such grimoires to ignite such spells are difficult to get.

The last method is through inheritances and blessed lands.

Inheritances are set before a Book Lord dies, leaving a small test for the one who will take what they left behind. The test is unpredictable and defined by one's nature.

The same is for blessed lands, but such things happen naturally through the accumulation of heaven and earth Qi forming an abode.

...

Jiang Yilin snatched away the book Mickey was reading. She had a grimacing expression as she crossed her arms, looking at the boy leaning on the library bookshelf.

"{Facts About Book Lords} isn't a book we mortals should concern ourselves with! Find some algorithms to solve if you have so much ample time on your hands."

Mickey's expression remained the same as he looked at the alluring girl with blond hair. Her skin was soft like jade, making her resemble an angel.

She wore a white short-sleeve shirt that had two of its top buttons untucked, showing part of her huge bosom hidden in the black brassiere.

Her black jersey was tied around her waist on top of her checked pink and navy knife-pleated skirt that showed her long legs before her black knee socks blocked the view.

Despite her ravishing appearance, Mickey knew he wouldn't let his guard down around her and looked into her clear eyes with indifference;

"Human curiosity is like a dark vortex; it will never reach a stop. As a mortal, I can't help but be curious about the way of life of Book Lords. Yet, you seem not to be curious at all. As the saying goes, one cannot desire a grain of wheat when they have the whole field."

Jiang Yilin's brows tightened as she looked at her childhood lover with doubtful eyes. 'Does he know about my secret? No! That is just a guess based on my actions. It is normal for mortals to be curious about Book Lords.'

"Stop this baseless accusation! Can you stand by your words? Do you have any proof of what you are saying?"

Mickey released a small chuckle. "Why the panic? I never said you were a Book Lord, but now I am starting to think you are. The one who feels suspicious about a fart is the owner."

Jiang Yilin gritted her teeth in rage and her fist subconsciously clenched. "So what if I am a Book Lord?! According to the law, mortals should always bow down in front of a Book Lord and beg for their lives! Why aren't you doing that?"

Mickey suddenly raised his hand. This small action made the young girl quiver in fright. She might be a Book Lord, but the memories of what Mickey did to her in the past are like a tattoo on her heart.

In her eyes, she saw Gu Mickey clutching her neck with his nails piercing into her skin. She wanted to cry for help but couldn't; she wanted to beg for mercy but couldn't. In the next moment, she saw Mickey feeding on her flesh slowly.

The red-eyed boy walked past her and touched her shoulder to bring her back to life. "My bones are too lazy to bow to you now, and even in the future, they will always be too lazy to bow down to you."

"But do you have to concern yourself with me? Shouldn't you be trying to cover daddy's blood on your hands, little demon?"

The fear in Jiang Yilin intensified as the image of her standing in a pool of blood with a kitchen knife in her hands flashed in her mind.

Thud-!

She fell to her knees on the ground, and a tear came out from her left eye, and said with a voice filled with disbelief, "How?"

The greatest secret of her life, which she had tried to keep hidden even from her mother, was somehow known by an outsider like Gu Mickey.

She was sure she didn't leave any evidence, yet, someone who no longer lived near that place knew. This meant someone had told him in secret, meaning she was in the palm of this group and could be crushed anytime.

When she turned her head back, she didn't see a sign of the boy she was talking to before. He had just vanished like the wind.

On the way to the boys' restroom, Mickey's eyes flashed a cold light. He didn't seem one bit satisfied with how he had managed to stop Jiang Yilin from bothering him at the moment.

Killing her would be the best thing to do, but he couldn't do that at the moment; it was too risky for him to try.

Also, someone like Jiang Yilin wasn't worth mentioning as a threat.

Before he could enter the restroom, someone who had happened to see Mickey making Jiang Yilin cry punched him in the face.

"Mickey, if you make her cry again, I swear on my dead father's grave to make you regret it!"

Mickey just took hold of his cheek with a gaze full of disdain, 'I wonder what I should do between killing him and getting him expelled?'
