Gu Mickey went home, and when he felt bored, he decided to go back to his old place, the southern forest of the island.
This time, he went further than he did last time.
His senses were on alert as he navigated through the dense forest. If it were not for the compass, he would have gotten lost a long time ago. He was taller than his peers but had to stand on his toes to see past the tall grass.
As he moved through the grass, the sweat on his body was caressed by the delicate tips of the blades.
He grumbled in annoyance.
"This grass allergy... so itchy!"
He soon sighed.
"Alas, I can't pay any mind to it or I would end up fighting an elementary realm profound beast."
As his final words dissolved into air, his vision reeled, like a leaf torn from its branch, and his face turned a ghostly white, as if the very life force had been drained from him.
He gazed at the ground.
'A rock snake!'
The snake was wide, its body looked like a rock, and its speed was like that of a rabbit.
Mickey's instincts kicked in, and he sprinted away from the beast without a backward glance
'Should I call myself lucky for meeting such a profound Beast with high defense that it couldn't notice me?'
With a seeker's instinct, the young man ascended a sentinel tree, its bark rough beneath his hands, and gazed out upon the unforgiving landscape.
'The southern forest might be home to elementary realm profound beasts with the same fighting power as a person in the spirit realm, but I do not have any methods to fight any of them. I cannot use the rifle; I do not have enough spirit coins to create even a single bullet.'
Kaka…
The tree Mickey was standing on started to collapse to the ground, and he tried to jump over to the next tree, but even with his height, he could not make it.
Bam…
Mickey landed on yellow ground that had black marks. It almost felt like he had fallen on top of a tiger, but he had to thank the heavens for his luck!
It was just an elephant!
A loud trampling sound echoed in the air as Mickey's leg got grabbed by the trunk before getting tossed into the trees that were in the distance like a rag doll.
The young man collided with the ground, and his body wriggled like a worm as he felt some of his ribs crack.
"Why did that female 2-path-elephant have to pee on the tree I was using for scouting?"
Mickey knew that the answer lay with his bad luck and swiftly picked himself up from the ground before running towards his original direction.
However, the 2-path-elephant also gave chase. It was not going to forgive this human a peaceful ending for disturbing its precious time.
The profound beast quickly caught up to Mickey. Its body might be big, but the human was not fast enough to evade it. The trunk swung in the air before lashing at the black-haired boy at the side of his abdomen.
Wham!
Mickey got sent flying towards a tree's branches, and a mouthful of blood left his lips. Fortunately for the profound beast, it got a taste of Mickey's blood, and as a carnivore, it started salivating.
The 2-path-elephant headbutted the tree Mickey was in, and it began to fall to the ground. Yet, the young man repeated the same thing as he jumped to its back again with a stick in his hand.
He took hold of the elephant's tail and stabbed the wooden stick in his hand into its urinal area.
The 2-path-elephant released a violent trumpet sound that chased all the birds away, as it jumped up and down in pain. Mickey got tossed away to land on the ground, but he did not have time to complain about getting hurt as he swiftly used his legs to escape.
'Shit! Did I go out with the goddess of misfortune in my last life?'
Mickey cursed his luck as he saw a male 2-path-elephant coming from ahead of him.
The one behind did not care about the pain at all. Today it had tasted the greatest blood ever, and it wanted more. Just a few drops would not satisfy it; the elephant needed a whole Mickey to chew on for the week.
Mickey was drenched in cold sweat; it was already hot enough, but seeing the couple join forces to chase after him... made him palpitate.
The young man had to get off course and go in the southwest direction where there were trees, but the plans he had failed fantastically.
His first plan was to use the trees to distract the 2-path-elephants, but the profound beasts were good at navigation despite their big bodies. When they bumped into a tree, they made sure it fell in Mickey's direction.
His second plan was to use other profound beasts to scare the elephants, but he kept running into roux-impalas, which were also prey to the 2-path-elephants, which sprinted like hell when they saw them.
Mickey soon reached a rocky mountain and his steps had to halt for a moment as his thoughts collided.
'These petty motherfuckers. They were luring me here on purpose.'
He did not have much clear detail, but he knew that 2-path-elephants lived in mountains, and he quickly changed his tactic.
Mickey went over to a bush which was filled with thorny thickets. The two beasts stomped on the ground to get through the thorny bush. They had tough skin, and the sight of Mickey's blood aggravated them.
However, when they got past the bush, they only saw Mickey's casual clothes thrown on the ground near a rock on the mountain that was marked 'South Beach.'
The two profound beasts sniffed the bloody clothes, but they could not pick up any scent from them. They had been chasing him because they could see him, but they had no leads at all this time.
Rumble…
Out of rage, the 2-path-elephants stomped on Mickey's clothes. Alas, the young man did not show up at all.
The two just had to climb the mountain with depressed expressions, and when they were out of sight, Mickey jumped off from a nearby tree.
He had new layer of red tattoos that dripped down his body.
'At least I am alive.' Mickey sighed as he put the dirty clothes back on, but at that moment a group of impalas charged at him, he could only respond by running away with his tail between his legs.
