Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

The next morning, I woke up feeling determined. I knew I had to find a job, and fast. I got dressed and headed to the kitchen, where I found Aria already making breakfast.

"Hey, good morning," she said, smiling. "I made pancakes." She raised the pancakes up showing me.

I smiled back, feeling a sense of gratitude towards her. "Thanks, Aria. You're a lifesaver."

We ate breakfast in silence, lost in our own thoughts. Then, Aria spoke up.

"Luna, I was thinking. My friend's mom works at a wealthy human's estate. She might be able to get you a job there." She said

I raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "A wealthy human's estate? That sounds promising." The thought of working for a human wasn't something I'd really go for… it wasn't my first option but it was an Option and if it meant going for Luca then so be it.

Aria nodded. "Yeah, it's a long shot, but it's worth a try. My friend's mom can put in a good word for you." She said

I nodded, feeling a sense of hope. "Okay, let's do it. I'll do whatever it takes to get the job." I told her while shoving a pancake in my mouth

Aria smiled, looking determined. "I'll call my friend and set it up. You can go for an interview today." She said before packing her backpack in a Hushed manner.

I took a deep breath, feeling a sense of nervousness. But I knew I had to do this. For Luca, and for myself.

"Okay, let's do it," I said, standing up. "I'm ready."

And with that, I headed out to face whatever lay ahead, knowing that Aria had my back.

I spent the morning getting ready for the interview, trying to calm my nerves and boost my confidence. I dressed in my best human attire, a simple yet elegant outfit that Aria had helped me pick out. I took a deep breath, smoothing out my hair and practicing my smile in the mirror.

As I headed out the door, I felt a sense of determination wash over me. I was going to nail this interview, no matter what.

The estate was even more grand than I had imagined, with sprawling gardens and a mansion that seemed to stretch on forever.

I walked into the office and I was greeted by a stern-looking butler, who led me to a lavish study where the wealthy human, Mr. Julian Salvatore, was waiting for me.

He was even more handsome than I had expected, with piercing blue eyes and chiseled features. But I pushed aside my distraction, focusing on the task at hand.

"Ah, Luna Nightgale," he said, his voice smooth as silk. "It's a pleasure to meet you. Please, have a seat." He gestured.

I nodded, trying to hide my nervousness as I sat down across from him. "Thank you, Mr. Salvatore. It's a pleasure to meet you too." I said Contemplating whether to stretch my hands or not.

The interview was grueling, with Mr. Salvatore asking me questions about everything from my work experience to my personal life. But I answered each question with confidence and poise, determined to make a good impression.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, the interview was over. Mr. Salvatore smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners.

"Thank you, Luna. You're a very impressive young woman. I think you'd be a great fit for our estate."

I beamed, feeling a sense of pride and accomplishment. "Thank you, Mr. Salvatore. I won't let you down."

Mr. Salvatore leaned back in his chair, steepling his fingers together as he regarded me. "So, Luna, tell me... why do you want to work for Salvatore Enterprises?"

I hesitated for a moment, trying to come up with a convincing answer. I couldn't very well tell him that I needed the job to pay for Luca's medical bills, or that I was desperate to escape my duties as a werewolf.

"I... I need the job to take care of my mother," I said finally, trying to sound as sincere as possible. "She's been diagnosed with leukemia, and I need to support her through her treatment." I lied immediately

Mr. Salvatore's expression softened, and he nodded sympathetically. "I'm so sorry to hear that," he said. "Losing a loved one is never easy. But I'm glad you're taking proactive steps to care for her." He said Sighing loudly.

I felt a pang of guilt at the lie, but I pushed it aside. I had to do what was necessary to get the job.

"Yes, well... I'll do whatever it takes to help her," I said, trying to sound convincing.

Mr. Salvatore nodded again, making a note on the papers in front of him. "I think you'd be a great fit for our company, Luna. We're a tight-knit team, and we take care of our own. I think you'll find that working for Salvatore Enterprises is a very rewarding experience." He said smiling

I smiled, trying to hide my relief. I had done it. I had gotten the job.

Mr. Salvatore smiled, a hint of satisfaction in his eyes. "Well, Luna, I'm pleased to inform you that you're hired. You'll be working as my personal assistant, effective immediately."

I tried to hide my surprise, but I couldn't help feeling a thrill of excitement. Personal assistant to the CEO of Salvatore Enterprises? It was a prestigious position, and I knew I had to make the most of it.

"I won't let you down, Mr. Salvatore," I said, trying to sound professional even though it was like the Forth time I was saying it today.

He waved a hand dismissively. "Please, call me Julian. We're going to be working closely together, after all." He smiled warmly.

I nodded, feeling a sense of trepidation. Working closely with Julian Salvatore? I wasn't sure if I was ready for that.

But I pushed aside my doubts and smiled, trying to appear confident. "Thank you, Julian. I'm looking forward to it." I said

Julian smiled back, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "I'm glad to hear that, Luna. You'll be handling my schedule, correspondence, and... other tasks as needed." He explained while I Nodded in Understanding.

I kept shaking my head, trying to take it all in. It sounded like a challenging job, but I was determined to rise to the occasion.

"I'm ready for whatever you need me to do," I said, trying to sound convincing.

Julian's smile grew wider, and he leaned forward, his eyes glinting with amusement. "I think you'll find that working for me is... never dull, Luna." He said laughing as I sighed a sigh of relief that he wasn't some strict Person or so.

I felt a shiver run down my spine at his words, but I tried to brush it off. I was here to do a job, not to get caught up in Julian's charismatic charm.

But as I left the office with Julian, I couldn't help feeling that I was in over my head. Little did I know, working as Julian's personal assistant would be the least of my worries.
