Julian's POV
I leaned back in my chair, my gaze drifting toward the city skyline beyond the window. The concrete giants and bustling streets below blurred into the background as my mind wandered to Luna, my new personal assistant.
She was a mystery, a puzzle I couldn't quite solve. Her reserved nature intrigued me, hinted at secrets hidden behind those piercing green eyes. I found myself wondering what lay beneath her polished exterior, what drove her.
Those hesitant smiles she offered occasionally only added to the enigma. And then there was the faint flush on her cheeks when I mentioned Isabella... I couldn't shake the feeling it was more than just embarrassment.
Ridiculous, I told myself. She was my PA, not some infatuated schoolgirl. But the notion lingered, taunting me like a whispered secret.
My thoughts swirled, a maelstrom of curiosity. Why did I care? She was just an employee, after all. But that undercurrent, that tension... It drew me in, deeper.
I rubbed my temples, attempting to clear my head. Focus, Julian. Work. Not personal entanglements. Especially not with employees. But my mind refused to comply.
Luna's face haunted me - those eyes, that subtle smile. What lay beneath? I needed to know.
The silence in my office grew oppressive, punctuated only by the soft hum of the air conditioning. My phone buzzed, shattering the stillness. I ignored it.
Where was she now? What was she doing? Was she thinking of me? The questions swirled, taunting me.
Restlessness took hold, and I stood, pacing my office. Trapped in my own obsession, I couldn't shake the feeling I was walking a thin line.
Suddenly, the room felt suffocating. I needed air.
I strode out of my office, into the cool evening breeze. The city lights twinkled below, but even the night air couldn't clear my head.
Luna's presence lingered, a constant reminder of my growing fixation. And the danger it posed.
Just as I stepped out onto the balcony, lost in thoughts of Luna, I heard the door open behind me.
"Julian?" Isabella's voice, husky and familiar, cut through the night air.
I turned, a smile spreading across my face.
Isabella's eyes sparkled as she approached, her heels clicking on the marble floor.
"Hey," she said, her lips curving into a sly smile.
Without a word, I pulled her close, our mouths meeting in a fierce kiss.
The world around us melted away, leaving only the thrum of desire.
Isabella's hands roamed my chest, her touch reigniting the flame that had simmered between us for years.
As we broke apart for air, I realized that Luna had slipped from my mind.
Isabella had that effect on me.
She was my escape, my distraction.
With her, I forgot about the puzzling PA who had captured my attention.
We moved to the couch, our bodies entwined, lost in the familiar dance of desire.
"Missed you," Isabella whispered, her breath hot against my skin.
"Missed you too," I replied, my voice low and husky.
The city lights blurred outside, but in this moment, nothing else mattered.
Luna's face, those piercing green eyes, faded into the background.
Isabella was my present, my reality.
But as I gazed into her eyes, a fleeting thought crossed my mind:
Was I using Isabella to forget Luna?
The question vanished as quickly as it appeared, lost in the passion that consumed us.
For now, I didn't care.
I just needed to forget.
And Isabella was more than happy to oblige.
As I held Isabella close, my mind began to drift. Luna's face resurfaced, those piercing green eyes haunting me like a ghost. Her efficiency had always impressed me, but now it seemed... unsettling.
I recalled that day I sent her to fetch a protein shake from across town, a ridiculous errand designed to give me time with Isabella. But Luna returned in record time. Five minutes. It was impossible.
Unless she had wings.
Or could teleport.
The thought was absurd, and rational thinking told me to dismiss it. But the memory lingered, refusing to be shaken.
Other instances surfaced, like bubbles rising to the surface of a pond. The report she completed in half the expected time. The meeting arrangements made with eerie swiftness. Luna's speed was unnerving, as if she had an inside track, an unseen advantage.
Isabella's gentle touch brought me back to reality. "Julian, where are you?" she whispered, concern etched on her face.
I forced a smile, trying to shake off the unease. "Nowhere," I replied.
But my mind remained with Luna, wondering what her secret was. Was I just paranoid? Or was there something more?
Isabella's lips brushed against mine, but my focus had already shifted. Back to Luna. Back to the unsettling feeling that I couldn't shake.
That she was hiding something.
Something extraordinary.
As I deepened the kiss, Luna's face lingered in my mind, a constant reminder that my fascination with her was far from over.
The city lights twinkled outside, casting a golden glow over the room. But my thoughts were shrouded in darkness, consumed by the enigma that was Luna.
I immersed myself in the warmth of Isabella's lips, pushing Luna's haunting presence to the recesses of my mind. For now, I would focus on the woman in my arms.
Isabella's slender figure melted into mine, her curves fitting perfectly against my chest. Our kiss deepened, the world around us dissolving into the desire that fueled our passion.
Thank goodness Aria, my sister, wasn't around yet. I still needed this time with Isabella, this fleeting escape from the turmoil Luna stirred within me.
As we broke apart for air, Isabella's eyes sparkled with mischief. "Aren't you so cute" she whispered, her voice husky.
I smiled, tracing the contours of her face. "Your beautiful."
With renewed fervor, I devoted myself to the moment, lavishing attention on Isabella's every curve. Her laughter filled the room, music to my ears.
For a brief, shining moment, Luna's enigmatic presence receded, replaced by the familiarity of Isabella's touch.
But as the night wore on, and our passion subsided, I couldn't shake the feeling that I was merely delaying the inevitable.
Luna's presence lingered, a shadow on the periphery of my consciousness.
Waiting.
Watching.
Patient.
I pushed the thought aside, focusing on Isabella's contented sigh as she snuggled into my side.
Tonight, at least, belonged to her.
Tomorrow....
Tomorrow would bring its own challenges.
And Luna's unsettling presence would undoubtedly return.
