'Help.. please.... Someone... Anyone.'
In a dark alleyway lay a small girl covered in wounds with blood flowing from a huge cut on her stomach.
'Why? Why me? What did I ever do to deserve this?'
'This is what I get for not listening to the fortune teller.'
...
"I want to know about my relationship in the future." A cute girl in a a frilly pink dress says with a determined expression as she faces the old fortune teller.
"But of course. There are 2 young men who are deeply in love with you both could make you happy but there are two sides you every coin as they say. Fortune and misfortune, light and darkness, heroes and villains. One stands on the side of justice he is fortune and light. The hero. The other is quite peculiar, he who stands on the side of none but his own he is misfortune and darkness. The villain. Always remember and heed my words. The hero would sacrifice you for the sake of the world but the villain would watch this world burn for you. Choose wisely. You're choice shall seal your fate." The old woman says looking at the girl meaningfully.
"No! I love Cassius and he loves me too. He would never sacrifice me even for the world." The girl says angrily before storming off in a huff.
...
Present Day-
'Why? Why couldn't I have just listened to her? If I had I would be fine. I would be happy."
Slowly with a million thoughts in her mind the small 23-year-old girl known as Kylie Robins slowly closed her eyes as everything went dark.
…
"Kylie! What are you waiting for? Make your choice. I've put up with this guy for too long. It's him or me! You can't have both." Cassius Greyson says glaring at Blake Moonstone as if he knows he'll win.
Kylie looks at the young Cassius and Blake stunned. Then she looked down at her hands to see hands devoid of scars with perfectly manicured nails.
After a moment she seems to understand that this is the day that changed her life. This choice sent her on a path of destruction in her last life. She was back.
"I don't blame you Kylie. Even though you love him it won't change my feelings. I hope you two are happy together." Blake says looking at Kylie sadly before turning to walk away.
"Kylie don't worry about him anymore. I've always loved you and now we can finally be happy together." Cassius says looking at Blake in distain.
As soon as she hears these words Kylie snaps back to reality.
"I...… Blake" She says softly making Cassius pause not having heard her clearly.
"What did you say Kylie?" Cassius asks softly with a hint of confusion.
"I said, I choose Blake!" She says loudly tilting her head up to look at Blake with determination in her voice making Blake who was walking away stops in his tracks clearly stunned.
Both guys were originally sure she would choose Cassius that was why they didn't even wait for her answer before coming to a conclusion on their own.
"B-but didn't you love Cassius?" Blake asks looking at her in disbelief.
"Yeah as a friend. I never thought of him as anything more than that." Kylie says looking between the two as if shocked that they would think differently.
"No but didn't you say you wanted us to be the same forever?" Cassius asks completely shocked.
"I meant I wanted us to be friends forever. We would always stay the same even if I fell in love and got married. Why would I want to lose my best friend? We've been friends since we were little so I was hoping you felt the same." Kylie says looking at her feet in embarrassment as if she just realized how her words sounded.
"No wait so you aren't in love with Cassius?" Blake asks looking at her blankly as if not completely following the conversation.
"I-always thought of him as my best friend and I love him like a brother but I'm in love with you Blake. I wanted to tell you on my birthday but I got embarrassed and couldn't say it." Kylie says blushing. Her acting skills could be said to be better than professionals. In her last life she acted as a spy for Cassius and she had to learn to act so as not to be discovered and killed.
"I-I thought you didn't see me that way." Blake says as his cheeks redden in embarrassment.
Cassius just stands there in shock as if he was smacked in the face. Before he could recover from the first blow to his ego he was hit by another.
"I don't really know why you would think I liked you like that Cass. I told you when we were little that I liked handsome boys especially if they have dark hair. You have blond hair and I guess if you were handsome I could just have you dye it or something I mean there's always illusion magic but it's obvious Blake is already handsome and he has black hair. You never even had a chance I don't know what made you think I liked you." Kylie says innocently as she looks at Cassius as if he's an idiot.
If one listened closely they could hear Blake's muffled laughter as Cassius almost coughs up blood.
"Well even though I wanted to stay friends like before I still choose Blake. Since you don't like each other I can't force you to stay together for my sake." Kylie says looking at Cassius with fake sadness before running over to grab Blake's hand and run towards the castle gate.
"Princess, his majesty wishes to speak with you." One of the guards says as they lower their heads while opening the castle gate for the teenage Kylie and Blake to run through.
"Okay~ I'll go see him in a minute!" Kylie says before dashing towards the castle with Blake.
…
A few minutes later the two arrive outside Kylie's bedroom.
After looking both ways to make sure no one is around Kylie quickly pulls Blake inside and locks the door behind them.
As soon as they're alone Kylie relaxes.
"Will you help me with my dress I can't reach the zipper?" Kylie asks looking at Blake hopefully.
Immediately a blush creeps onto his face and he avoids eye contact.
"W-why would you need to take your clothes off?" Blake asks in embarrassment as he shifts uncomfortably.
"Did you expect me to wear this to meet my father? If I don't take off this dress I can't put on another one." Kylie says easily.
"What ever happened to being embarrassed?" He mumbles as he walks over to help Kylie with her dress.
"Oh that? I was embarrassed to say I was in love with you while my father was watching. He would have teased me endlessly for it." She says turning around pulling her hair to the side. "Thanks a bunch." She says after Blake steps back before running towards the dressing room.
Looking at all the frilly dresses in her closet Kylie feels a headache coming on and she massages the space between her eyebrows. After looking around for a while she spots an icy blue dress that doesn't go with all the ribbon and frills.
This dress.
It was her mother's favorite.
Kylie carefully runs her fingers over the fabric. The feeling of high quality fabric really is different.
She shakes her head sadly before looking away from the dress.
She casually picks a sparkly pink Princess dress covered in glitter and ribbons. It had been a while since she wore anything so childish but she really did used to love frilly dresses covered in gems and sparkles.
She struggles to do up the back of the dress and after struggling for a few minutes she gives up and walks out of the dressing room.
"Help me Blake.~ I can't do it myself!" Kylie says running over to hug Blake's arm.
"Um.. s-sure." He stutters reaching out to tie zip up the back of the dress.
"Thanks! I really don't know what I would do if I was alone. Just makes me realize that I'm helpless without someone to wait on me." Kylie says sticking with a sweet smile. "Anyway I don't want to keep daddy waiting lest he comes here to find me. Thanks again Blake. I'll be back soon! The maids will come in here to clean soon so you should hide under the bed. No one checks under there during the day." Kylie says before waving behind her and running off to meet her father.
Behind her Blake lets out a long sigh before a smile blooms on his face.
She really is cute.
He never imagined that she would pick him over Cassius.
Cassius is a perfect match for her.
A cheerful crown prince of the Grayson Empire. The hero destined to save the world from the demon lords army.
He's a perfect fit for Kylie and Blake was sure that even Kylie could see that.
The happy-go-lucky crown Princess of the Robin Empire. The saintess born to protect her people in times of need. She's was beautiful, kind, considerate, and carefree.
Blake felt he didn't deserve her. He knew that the Demon Lord told in the prophecy was him. No one else had quite figured it out yet but he knew.
The saintess and the demon lord? No one would believe it. Even he could hardly believe it.
Meanwhile on Kylies side.
As she runs through the halls in her frilly pink dress Kylie couldn't help but think about her last life. She still couldn't understand it but she didn't care how it happened. All that matters is that she was given another chance.
She used to run just like this as a child. The castle was huge and she had a lot of free time. Just like today, she would happily hold up her skirt so as not to trip as she ran towards her fathers office. Just like now, the maids would yell that one of these days she was going to trip and fall. Just like right this moment, she would dash into her fathers office without knocking and before the guards could announce her.
"Daddy!" Kylie yells leaping into her fathers arms. He stumbles back in shock as he instinctively wraps his arms around her.
He had just been talking to the knight commander as they walked towards the office door and before he knew it he had his beautiful daughter in his arms.
"Greetings to her highness the brightest star of the empire, Crown Princess Kylie Stella Robin" Greets the knight commander, Mason Peirce, with a bow of his head.
"Hi, Uncle Mason!" Kylie says all while still clinging to her father who by now has his arms around her waist as he holds her.
"I see my little princess is finally here." Says the Emperor as he gently places Kylie on the sofa.
"That's right! The guard uncle's told me you asked to see me." Kylie says nodding cutely. Despite being 17 she didn't think it was weird that she was talking to her dad like she was a child. She had always been this way. When it comes to her father Kylie has always acted like a spoiled child. Of course the nobles and commoners don't know about this. In public she knows how to be serious but all of the castles staff is used to seeing the princess suddenly change faces at the sight of her father.
"That's right. Daddy missed you!" The Emperor says suddenly becoming incredibly childish as well.
This is a sight only known to those close to the Emperor and Princess. If they trust you then you are forced to witness the traumatizing scene of the most powerful man in the empire whine like a child to his equally childish daughter. It's always amuzing the first time but when you've seen them behave this way for years it becomes increasingly more annoying. Especially if you've seen it thousands of times over the course of 15 years.
As the commander of the knights, Mason Peirce is with the Empeor several times a day unless he's on the battlefield in which case he reports with a mana phone. For 15 years he has been forced to watch the Emperor and Princesa act like children.'Help.. please.... Someone... Anyone.'
