In a small room in an old apartment complex lay a girl. She had a slender and graceful figure but she was a little too skinny due to a lack of good food. Her long black hair was as soft and shiny as silk despite the condition she was living in. Her beautiful heart shaped face was currently pale and her brows furrowed as if in pain. Her expression couldn't take away from her beauty as her long thick lashes trembled slightly before she sat up and looked around the room vigilantly as though waiting for someone to appear and attack at any moment.
Seeing her surroundings the girl slowly relaxed and let out a small sigh.
"Again."
That's all she said but this single word seemed to carry deep feelings.
"System."
Her voice was like that of an angel and any who heard it would be captivated.
[Host, Congratulations on your retirement!]
Despite hearing the robotic voice of the system and seeing the transparent blue panel in front of her the girl almost couldn't believe what it said.
"Retirement?" The girl asks in disbelief rubbing her eyes to make sure she isn't seeing things.
[Yes, host! It has been detected that the hosts mental state is unstable and thus the administrator instructed that the host be allowed to retire. The administrator thanks you for your help so far.]
Seeing this tears began falling from the girls eyes. After nearly 100 transmigrations she was finally allowed to relax.
"T-thank you... Thank you so much... I, I, I... "Sob"..." Unable to hold it in the girl falls to the ground crying. She thought the only way she would be freed from the endless cycle was to fade from existence. Though she died countless times she was afraid. After all she knew that even if her life were to end she would start a new one. The thought of fading into nothingness scared her.
She never even considered that she would be allowed to retire. She had always believe she would be stuck in an endless cycle. Never given a chance to rest.
"Who am I in this life?" She asks having finally calmed down. She slowly gets to her feet to explore the room as she listens to the system.
[The Host has been transported to a world similar to her original life. Host now occupies the body of Faylin Kennedy. Would you like to view the body's previous memories?]
"Yes." She mumbles as she examines the clothes in the closet.
Suddenly a rush of memories flood her mind.
From the day she was born to now, the transmigrator now known as Faylin sees everything that's happened.
She was clearly a girl but her mother raised her as a boy.
She came from a rich family who values boys over girls. Her mother knew she would be treated badly if her father knew she was a girl.
The only other person in the family who knows she isn't a boy is her twin brother.
Among outsiders there is only one person she trusts enough to know her secret.
Her best friend Silas. They've known each other since childhood and he trusted her with his own secret.
