Rei launched a bigger fireball directly at Nazik, but he dodged it so fast he seemed to vanish. She tried to push him with wind, but he just wasn't there.
"You're a fast caster, missy. Haven't seem much of your skill before" Nazik said, with confidence "Yet you seem to lack combat experience. You'll still delay the rest of the men, so I need to stop you right here. Nothing personal."
Yet he still didn't unsheathe his sword. He was loyal, but not a killer.
Rei wanted to just blast the whole place apart, no way to run out of her range if she just made everything explode… sadly, she was inside her house, and as much as she loved destruction she didn't want to bring it down. While she just fireball'd all around her to keep Nazik occupied, she started thinking. How can she hit an opponent that moves so fast? At first she thought of just instantly creating fire inside his body, but she couldn't cast fast enough to hit him before he moved… Then, she had an inspiration: if it wasn't possible to hit him directly, she could hit the ground.
Rei cast a fireball rune with one of her hands… and pointed to the earth with the other. Nazik dodged the fireball, yet he didn't expect the very terrain to spike up to trap him. He unsheathed his sword and cut the first spike, but Rei wasn't done. She created another rune with the hand she used to cast fireball before, and pointed to the ground again. Two spikes, three spikes, six. Nazik was surrounded, and every time he cut one spike another replaced it in its stead. Finally, Rei focused and moved her two hands towards where Nazik was trapped. All the spikes fused into a wall, and not even Nazik strikes could cut it.
When she was preparing to cook him inside with a well placed fireball, she felt a hand on her shoulder.
"Please don't kill my friend"
