Smynth didn't expect to be discovered so quickly, and by the bastard, no less! He was lucky he took the precaution of being disguised, and of bringing the poisoned daggers. He thought he was over-prepared at first, but it worked out. The boy had good instincts, he had to admit, but he fell very easily for a simple trick. He had to keep it in mind if another fight broke out. Still, he didn't expect to be seen even after using his invisibility cloak. He even had to use his best trick! He wasn't planning on showing it to anyone, and now he had wasted it.
He remembered he had won the cloak by cheating on a poker game. He didn't even know where it came from. From outside Mirra, for sure. He had tested it immediately after getting it, to escape the rage of the enemy gambler, a nasty drunk that had once been a noble, yet the only noble thing still remaining on his possession was the cloak. Still, it was not the time to reminisce. He had a mission to do, even if his hired help was… otherwise distracted.
Obviously the two leaders had to be muscleheads and were fighting the daughters of the family. It was like kicking a hornet's nest and inviting them to bite. Idiots. Still, they were an excellent distraction. He just had to slip through to the Matriach's room and take her. The whole mansion would be swarming with servants soon, so he had no time to waste.
Still, he couldn't help but think this was too easy. And as he did, he felt something grabbing his knees. Must he always bring his own demise every time?!
