James put down his phone and walked quickly towards the school. He couldn't understand why Luke, who had always been good-natured, would get into a fight with a classmate. He had never thought such a thing would happen.
His pace was fast, but fortunately, Freya had told him the exact class Luke was in before he got off the bus, so he arrived on time.
As he pushed open the door, there were hardly any students left in the classroom, except for Luke who was squatting in a corner. The teacher stood at the front of the classroom, looking at Luke with a fierce expression.
Standing next to the teacher was a middle-aged woman with heavy makeup, giving off a strong scent of an ancient brothel woman. Despite the weather not being cold, she was wearing a fur coat, as if afraid that others wouldn't know she was wealthy.
"What are you still standing there for? Hurry up and come in!" Roman, the teacher, saw James standing at the door and scolded him, then quickly introduced him to the woman.
"Madam Hayes, the person you asked for is here."
"Hmm." Madam Hayes coldly nodded, touched the head of the child next to her, and then looked at James.
"You are the parent of that wild child?"
Madam Hayes glanced at James, and when she saw him walking towards Luke, her disdainful expression became even stronger.
"Don't be in a hurry to look at your son's injuries. Let me tell you, your son hit my precious son today, causing him to scrape his hand. What do you say we should do?"
"Don't blame me for not telling you. If you don't handle this well today, your son won't be able to stay at Troy high school anymore."
"Roman, am I right?"
Madam Hayes turned her head to look at Roman, and Roman immediately nodded repeatedly, "Yes, yes, you're right."
"Don't talk about this Troy high school. If he doesn't give you an explanation today, his son will never be able to attend any schools in Michigan in the future!" The voices of the two people echoed in James's ears, but he didn't stop for a moment.
He looked at Luke, who was full of defiance, and squatted down gently. "Why did you fight?" James asked gently, without any blame in his tone.
"He called me a wild child without parents!" Luke stared at the child under Hayes's wife's hand, scaring the chubby boy to step back repeatedly.
"Anything else?" James continued to ask.
If it were other children, they might have fought with other kids because of this sentence, but Luke wouldn't. James had seen Luke's maturity. This sentence was not enough to make Luke take action.
"There's more..." Luke gritted his silver teeth and said, "He said his mother told him that my mother is a whore and should be played with!"
Luke clenched his fists tightly, and the anger in his eyes did not diminish at all. He didn't regret being taught by the teacher and the other party's parents because of the fight. If there was a next time, he would still take action.
"I'm sorry, Uncle...I've caused trouble for you again." Luke lowered his head and dared not look at James's eyes. He had troubled James many times... If it weren't for the teacher wanting to call his grandfather, he wouldn't have told the teacher James's phone number.
But he was even more afraid that his grandfather would know that he had fought with a student at school.
"Caused trouble?" James let go of Luke's shoulder, smiled and touched Luke's head, "Did you win?"
Luke raised his head in surprise, not understanding why James would ask such a question.
"Are you puzzled?" James stood up. "He insulted your mother, shouldn't you have fought back?"
"But if you didn't win, it would be very embarrassing."
James's words were not joking, and his eyes were full of sincerity.
Luke nodded fiercely, " I won!"
For some reason, at this moment, he was actually a little proud. He thought he would receive a barrage of curses, but he didn't.
"Okay, Uncle knows."
James pinched Luke's face, causing him to grimace in pain.
It wasn't that James was too strong, but there were several bruises on Luke's face, which were caused by someone else.
"This slap, was it the woman who hit you?"
Without waiting for Luke to answer, James slapped him again.
"Adult matters, I'll handle it."
Li Bufan pulled out a chair for Luke to sit on, and then strode towards Mrs. Hayes.
When Mrs. Hayes saw James approaching, her anger grew even stronger.
"Teacher Roman, look at how this kind of person teaches children. He actually asked the child if he won!"
"I told you, this kind of scum's child must have problems with his education. The school shouldn't accept this kind of child!" Mrs. Hayes roared.
"Yes, yes." Teacher Roman nodded repeatedly, pointing at James with his finger.
"I'm telling you, you better show a better attitude. Otherwise, your child may lose the opportunity to enroll in Michigan in the future!"
"Oh? You're so powerful?" James smiled.
No one in Michigan could say such words, not even the education authorities.
For nine years, public education was a mandatory order from above. Who would dare to refuse?
"That's right, as long as I make a call, no one will dare to take your child!" Teacher Roman snorted, completely ignoring the threatening tone in James's words.
"We educators have a communication group. I know most of the teachers in Michigan. As long as I make a call, no one will dare to take your child!"
"I see." James nodded to show that he understood.
"I don't want to talk about your matter now.
Let's discuss education later."
James's gaze shifted from Teacher Roman to Mrs. Hayes, and his eyes were like a demon, frightening Mrs. Hayes to take back two steps.
"What do you want!"
Mrs. Hayes steadied herself and cursed angrily.
Did this trash still want to fight her?
"I'll tell you, I'm Mrs. Hayes of the Hayes family. If you dare to touch me..."
"Smack!"
Before she could finish her sentence, a crisp slap echoed in the air.
The pain on her right cheek made Mrs. Hayes cover her face in disbelief as she looked at James. "You..."
"Smack!"
Before she could finish her sentence, another slap landed on her left cheek.
James wiped his hand on his clothes with some disgust, as if his hand was dirty.
"These two slaps are for my son. If he loses a fight, I'll accept it. But you meddling in it is not acceptable!"
"As for the Hayes family, they're just a third-rate family. If you want to call your husband, go ahead. Don't come to me for trouble later."
James ignored the angry outburst of Madam Hayes, who threatened that he would not be able to leave the room, and picked up his phone. His gaze returned to Teacher Roman.
"Now, let's talk about our situation."
James pulled out a chair and sat down, tilting his head slightly. "My son and her son are both students. If you want to favor her because she's wealthy, that's fine."
"But using my son to win her favor is not acceptable."
"Someone like you is not qualified to be a teacher. As for this phone, you don't need to make the call. I'll do it."
"I want to see how you can stop my son from studying in Michigan!"
