Chapter 33 - Well intentioned lie.

I suggest you don't go in. Today, I'm here to put an end to this. Holt, you've delayed my project for three days. I told you today is the deadline," Clark Apollo said, holding a big stick in his hand and followed by a group of young men with various dyed hair. They didn't look like a demolition team, and no one would believe they were anything but a group of thugs.

Holt turned around nervously and pushed James away. "Young man, could you wait on the side for a moment? I'll deal with you later."

Amelia also quickly pushed Freya away. The Young family's dominance was well-known, and they couldn't let these two young people get involved. Otherwise, they might both be in danger.

Amelia walked quickly to Clark Apollo. "Brother Apollo, please, give us a few more days."

"I promise you, as long as my daughter comes back, I'll..." Amelia said.

"Wait for two more days?" Clark Apollo interrupted Amelia's words directly, wiping his nose with disdain on his face. "Do you know how much money we'll lose in two days?"

"I'll take your two lives to compensate!"

Clark Apollo beckoned to the young thugs behind him. "What are you waiting for? Bring the excavator over. If these two old men dare to block us, run them over!"

"Tui!" Clark Apollo spat on the ground. "You really think you're somebody, bargaining with me?"

As soon as he heard that they were going to forcibly demolish the house, Holt quickly stood in front of the gate. After finally receiving news about his daughter, he couldn't let these animals tear down his home!

"Thump!"

Amelia fell to her knees and grabbed onto Apollo's thigh.

"Apollo, please don't demolish our house!"

"We don't want any compensation, just give us two more days. Wait for my daughter..."

"Get lost!" Apollo kicked Apollo's chest with force.

Everyone closed their eyes, thinking that Amelia and Holt had brought this upon themselves.

Amelia looked at Apollo in despair and forgot to dodge.

But after a while, the kick didn't land on her body.

"Auntie, get up." James helped Amelia up from the ground. Everything had happened too quickly, and he hadn't had time to stop her from kneeling.

"Don't worry, they can't demolish this house."

James stood in front of Amelia, staring coldly at Apollo. "I'll give you a chance. Kneel down and kowtow to Amelia three times. If you do, I'll spare your life.

Otherwise, I'll break your arms and legs."

After being kicked, Apollo was stunned for a moment.

Then he burst into laughter. "Hahaha, brother, are you kidding me?"

"You think you're qualified to break my limbs?"

Apollo's laughter suddenly stopped, and his eyes became fierce.

"Do you know who I'm working for?"

"If you're smart, you'll leave now and forget about this. Do you really think anyone can be a hero?"

"Do you even know what you are?!" Apollo sneered. He couldn't believe that James, who may stand out in the slums, could be considered middle class in the whole Michigan region, dared to interfere with Young's affairs.

James's eyes grew colder as he looked at Apollo. "So, you choose the latter, right?"

"What if I am?"

Apollo stretched out his hand. "Come on, break my limbs."

His words made his followers burst into laughter.

"This guy really thinks he's someone. Doesn't he know what my surname is? I'm from the Young family's collateral line. Who does he think he is to mess with me?"

"He's just talking big. Look, Apollo is holding out his hand. He wouldn't dare to move."

"Exactly. He's probably scared out of his wits now that he's heard my brother name. But now that Apollo is angry, this guy won't be able to walk out of here on two legs."

"That's right. Who asked him to come here and show off in front of Apollo? If he dares to..."

"Ah!"

Before the others could finish their arrogant talk, Apollo screamed in pain, holding his left hand on the ground. It was obvious that his left hand had been completely broken from his arm.

James watched Apollo and said, "Don't be in a hurry to call for help. There's more."

"Crack!"

James stepped on Apollo's left foot, causing a comminuted fracture.

"Ah, ah, ah!"

"I'll kill you, I'll kill you!"

Apollo rolled in pain. Before he could finish his threat, James stepped on his leg again, this time with his right foot.

Another sound of bone breaking echoed. Apollo's followers were all frozen in place, even beginning to retreat in fear.

James was too calm. If they hadn't seen him doing something so cruel and insane with their own eyes, they would have thought he was just doing something ordinary.

"This is useless legs!" Apollo rolled around in pain, sweat covering his entire body. He looked at James with fear instead of his previous arrogance.

James slowly retracted his foot. "Do you know why I left you with one hand?" He squatted down and fumbled to take out Apollo's phone. "Call Young Ace. If he doesn't show up in half an hour, there's no need to keep this hand."

The phone was thrown out, and Apollo quickly reached out to grab it, as if grasping at a lifeline.

He picked up the phone and began to speak viciously in a low voice. After the call, all that remained in his eyes when he looked at James was malice.

When Young Ace arrived, James would not have a good time!

But James didn't care about any of this. He walked over to and helped him into the house. He pulled out a chair for Amelia and sat down.

"Uncle, Auntie..." James greeted them and looked at their hopeful eyes. Suddenly, he froze.

He was not a person who liked to lie, and even disliked lying. So every time he saw Luke and his sister, he felt guilty. He kept using lies to try to make their lives better, and it was hard for him to accept it.

But facing these eyes again, he admitted that he had once again succumbed. He knew that the two in front of him could not accept this fact. If they knew, they probably wouldn't even have the will to live.

He knew that Mia was everything to the two of them.

"Mia...she went abroad to study. I'm sorry for not telling you earlier," James gritted his teeth, weaving a lie that he was not good at.

"She asked me to tell you that she's doing well outside. Oh, and she said she'll call you tomorrow, so remember to keep your phones with you," James said with a smile, and the sad eyes of the elderly gradually turned into anticipation.

They could tell that James was lying, but his last sentence gave them hope for tomorrow. If their daughter really called, then she must be alive.

That was enough for them. As for where their daughter was, it was better for her to be anywhere than not in this world.

"Thank you," Holt sincerely thanked James, and Amelia even wanted to kneel down to him.

But this time, James directly held onto Amelia, "Uncle, Aunt, I'm just a messenger, there's no need to thank me."

"Mia must have her reasons, otherwise she wouldn't have left without a word."

James helped Amelia back to the table and even picked up the teacup on the table to give her some water, to calm her down.

After drinking the water, Amelia suddenly remembered something.

"You have to leave quickly, child."

Amelia grabbed James's shoulder and looked at Freya standing behind him.

She knew that James could fight, but dealing with the Young family was not something that could be solved with just fighting.

The Young family was too powerful!

"Child, that yellow-haired guy is from the Young family. You beat up their people, it's not appropriate to stay here. You have to leave quickly. As for us, we're just a couple of old bones, they won't dare to do anything to us."

"Yes," Holt nodded quickly, "You have to leave quickly. If the Young family comes, it'll be too late!"

Amelia and Holt looked worriedly at James and Freya. It had been quite some time, and if they didn't leave soon, something bad might happen.

They couldn't risk the messenger's life who had come all this way to bring them news of their daughter.

"Do you want to leave?"

"Bang!"

The sound of the door had just arrived, and a huge noise echoed through the small room.

The door collapsed with a bang, and two bodyguards stepped into the room first, followed by a middle-aged man with an imposing manner.

The middle-aged man was wearing a suit, with a stubble on his chin, and his small eyes were full of killing intent.

"Did you just have my nephew call me?"

Young Ace stepped into the room, and dozens of people with sticks and clubs were waiting outside the door.

"You asked me to come, and now that I'm here, what do you want?"

Young Ace brushed off the dust in front of his eyes and faced the man and woman who had not turned around.

He wanted to see who in Michigan dared to challenge him, the King of Michigan Cannon.

Who dared to call him out by name!

If there was no explanation today, he didn't mind adding two more bodies to Michigan.

Of course, even if there was an explanation, these two people would have to spend the rest of their lives in bed.

There was no other way. If you dared to provoke his Young family, you had to pay the price!

"What do you want?" James turned his head and looked at Young Ace with a slanted eye.

"I probably want you to kowtow a few times, let my friend's parents slap you a few times, and if they're still not satisfied, then break your legs, scatter your wealth, or even take your life!"

Boom!

James 's words exploded directly in the room.

How dare he say that!

"Master, I'll kill him!"

The head of the security team directly drew his police baton from his waist, and without waiting for Young Ace to speak, he and a few of his brothers rushed towards James.

As he approached James, Young Ace's explosive shout rang in his ears.

"Stop it!"

The head of the security team was stunned in place. Why was the head of the family being so reasonable?

If it were any other time, the head of the family would have ordered them to beat James to death.

He turned around and saw their supreme leader, who they held in the highest regard, looking at James with a face full of fear. His gaze was like he had just seen the King of Hell!
