When the woman reach out to take Willam's book, Willam move the book away, far from her reach.
"If you wanted to take it, then ask gentlely. Learn some Manners" Willam said. His voice mixed with irritation and annoyness but he try his best to be gentle.
The woman's eyes widened, then narrowed as she let out a sound of anger. Her friends exchanged frightened looks.
"Manners? Do you have any idea who you're talking to?"
Her voice was full of poison, a scowl appearing on her face. She looked like she wanted to slap Willam, who was standing in front of her in defiance.
William humsed. Seems to think for a moment before speeking up. Letting out a scoff.
"Hmmm. Maybe I know. A woman who show off her body and shake her ass to get more moneys at night, right? Truth hurts, no?" William said, holding back a sarcastic laugh.
The woman's face blushed scarlet, her expression twisting into a mixture of horror and anger. Her friends let out quiet, embarrassed gasps and looked around. The men around them either looked uncomfortable or were quietly trying to hide their laughs.
"How dare you say that!"
She exclaimed, her hands curling into fists by her side. A few seconds of silence passed. But then she took a step closer.
"I should give you a good slap for saying such things…"
Her hand was ready to rise and slap him, but then… a different hand caught her wrist, stopping the action. Willam's and the woman's gazes both flew to look in its direction.
Henry's tall figure was standing there, the one the woman had called 'Mister Bukater' from before. The corner of his lips lifted into a half smile, and yet his eyes were colder than ice. The woman looked up at him, stunned for a moment. She stumbled over her words, her angry expression falling away. Then, she took her other hand and pushed Henry's hand away from her.
"Why would you do such a thing…"
She said, her cheeks slightly red. The other young ladies around them stood in awe, while Willam just stared. All this because he was staring at this man? It didn't seem very logical, and yet everyone here acted like it was a big deal.
