Chapter 9 - New Friend?

Míng Yûzé pov.

"Awuah~ This taste was so amazing!" I said in amusement as I took another sip of the soup.

Well, she keeps on asking me which place I want her to treat me, but I don't even know any nice places. Now we are inside a restaurant, which was the one she picked.

"I told you their meals here were so delicious and worth buying!" She said before shoving some meat inside her mouth.

I just chuckled and agreed to her statement before continuing chewing my food.

"Right, why were you so rude to me before?" She suddenly asked, making me glance at her while raising one of my eyebrows.

"Because you're annoying," I said before grabbing my glass of juice.

"Annoying?! I'm just asking where you are staring, and also I just want to be friends with you," she said before glaring at me as she chewed her food inside her mouth.

"Tch. Maybe next time you should know how to ask someone to be your friend," I said and rolled my eyes while she just giggled.

"You are really strange, just like what everyone says," she said, making me look at her confused.

"What do you mean?" I asked as I raised one of my eyebrows in confusion.

"Well, everyone was stalking about how different you've been acting lately," she said while shrugging her shoulder.

"I mean, even I was also a bit confused; after all, you're a well-known quiet kid who always gets bullied," she explained as I just stared at her while listening.

"But look at you now; you're different and even able to fight against your own bullies," she said as she chuckled while showing me a proud smile.

I just let out a heavy sigh and rolled my eyes, ignoring her compliment and continuing to eat again.

"Aw~ now you are being rude again," she said as she glared at me, but I just ignored her and continued to eat.

I just focus on my food and savor every bite I take on each meal while listening to Huì Yîng, who's still blabbering nonsense.

"You know, why not let's be friends?" She suggested, making me frown a little.

'A friend? and the fact that she was a girl?' I thought as I started to criticize her, but soon I just shrugged it off.

"Nah, no thanks," I said as I waved my hand as if dismissing her offer, making her puff her cheeks in annoyance because of my attitude towards her.

"Tch! What a selfish guy! You surely change from a vulnerable boy to a selfish guy," she said while glaring at me, but I just rolled my eyes and completely ignored her.

Continuing to savor my food when someone went inside the restaurant that caught my attention and noticed that it was the guy who saved me.

"Where are you looking at?" Huì Yîng suddenly asked, catching my attention back.

"Oh, I kind of have a question." I said in a low tone that we are the only ones who were able to hear.

"Tch. and why would I answer your question? We are not even friends," she said while crossing her arms over her chest, making me facepalm and glare at her.

"Whatever, just answer me... do you know that guy over there?" I said with annoyance in my tone before gesturing toward the guy who was sitting not too far.

"Oh? It's Yīng Xiâo Dān; he was the school council president and was a well-known strict," she said as soon as her gaze landed on the guy.

"A school council president?" I asked, wanting to make sure that I heard it right.

"Yes he is, and don't forget that everyone was scared of him because of how cold he was to everyone," she said, making me raise one of my eyebrows.

Well, as I can remember the day he saved me, he was gentle at that time, and his touch was so relaxing. I also won't deny that his voice was so calming and sweet...

'Wait, why am I even complimenting that guy? I don't even know him,' I thought as I let out a heavy sigh and ruffled my hair lightly.

"Something going on?" Huì Yîng asked, but I just shake my head and chug down my glass of juice before slamming it back down at the table, making a loud 'Tud'

Taking a deep breath as I start to feel a bit strange, I feel a tightness in my chest, and my mind suddenly feels empty.

'Was it me? or was this Zî Ruì body reaction?' I thought before shaking my head and trying to shrug it off first.

'Maybe I was just overthinking things that it started to affect me now,' I thought while letting out a deep breath as I glanced at Huì Yîng, who's now looking at me while chewing her food.

"Order some beer; I'll pay this time," I said as I pulled out my wallet while Huì Yîng looked at me a bit shocked.

3 hours later

It's been 3 hours, and my head was a bit lighter now, but I feel dizzy and tipsy, gazing at Huì Yîng, who was now knocked out at the table. We surely drunk too much; after all, I ordered 50 bottles of beer.

I sighed heavily before opening the last bottle, when a hand suddenly grabbed my wrist, making me look up and see the guy named Xiâo Dān.

"That's enough; you already drink a lot," he said before snatching the bottle off of my hand and putting it back down at the table.

I just stared at him blankly; my heart started to beat faster than I even knew, and it was strange... really strange, it was like this person has a deep connection to me, or more like to Zî Ruì.

"I'll take you home now," he said while helping me to stand up, but I tried to pull away from his grasp.

"No thanks, I don't even know you," I said and glared at him, but he just stared at me deeply.

"Of course you don't, because... It's not actually you who knew me."
