Chapter 6 - Chapter Six (Hosting the Stranger)

After finishing their breakfast, Isla brought new clothes for the stranger so she can dry the ones he was wearing, he thanked her for her kindness. She, however, didn't show any interest in him and left, uttering indifferent words. His screams in her face still lingered in her mind.

But deep down, she felt an attraction towards him.

James and Daniel sat in the office discussing research matters and signing a contract that would secure James' cooperation with the company and provide him with all the updates. Isla couldn't take her eyes off him. He was obviously in his thirties, looking handsome with his thick, silky black hair falling on his forehead. His eyes were blue, shining with clarity that amazed her. His tall figure was muscular, making her think he might be engaged in some kind of sport. He wore knee-length white shorts and a sky-blue shirt.

Daniel finished his deal with James and asked for permission to return as his friend was waiting for him near the beach. James asked him to stay due to the bad weather conditions. However, Daniel insisted on leaving since he had unfinished business to attend to. He bid them farewell and when leaving, he glanced briefly at Isla who was pretending not to care.

As Daniel reached the beach and prepared to take off in his plane, a sudden storm erupted, and the sky became covered with clouds, obscuring their vision. At that moment, Daniel decided to stay on the isolated island with his friend Morris for the day.

Isla was in the kitchen cleaning, as usual, before heading to her friend Iris' place. But she heard a light knock on the door, and upon opening it, she found Daniel and his friend drenched. She quickly let them in and called for her father, who was busy in the lab. He came to them, surprised to see that they were returning due to the storm.

James then lit the fireplace to bring warmth to the house and asked the guests to sit in the living room after changing their clothes.

They never expected to spend the night here. As for Isla, she went to the kitchen to prepare dinner for them, murmuring and repeating to herself, "How could this stranger be staying with us in the same house?
