Chapter 8 - Chapter Eight(James Testimonial)

Isla couldn't control herself when she saw her father weak and unable to move, he who was once strong, battling the waves and diving into the depths of the sea. She began to cry, afraid of losing her father and finding herself alone in a world strange to her. She quickly got up to fetch water for her father, hoping it would bring him back to life. He drank a little and tried to remain composed, not wanting to add to his only daughter's worry and sadness.

His wish was to see her always happy and free from all suffering, and at the same time, he thought it was important to leave her a will including the results of his research so that she could continue on her way and bring them to light.

He had spent his life diving into the depths of the sea, which held many treasures and mysteries. The enchantment of the marine world had made it his headquarters, where he explored scientific truths about creatures and coral reefs. Now it was time to present it all to his daughter, satisfied with all the achievements that he had worked so hard to accomplish. It was also a fulfillment of the promise he had made to his wife to walk the path they had drawn together until the end. She too had been passionate about the marine world and had worked with him in the same field, if it weren't for her untimely death.

He took out a file from his desk drawer and handed it to his daughter, explaining its contents and the important documents and contracts it held for the companies he had dealt with during his career. He focused on the last company, asking her to contact them in case anything unfortunate happened to him, as he knew they would come quickly to take care of her.

Isla didn't want to hear anymore; instead, she threw herself into her father's arms, crying and asking him not to leave her. Life without him wouldn't please her, and she wouldn't feel the taste of it, which would turn bitter in his absence.

He comforted her, calming her fears, saying, "My daughter, it's the cycle of life. No one lives forever."

Isla replied, crying, "I know that, Father, but I'll be alone if something happens to you, with no one to comfort me. I'm afraid of tomorrow and what it holds for me, you know I've lived without interacting with people."

Her father reassured her, saying, "Don't be afraid, my daughter. This testament will protect you after my death. Just remember your father fondly."

She got up and headed to the kitchen, preparing juice for her father to strengthen his body. After helping him and seeing him off to his room, she sat on a chair next to him until sleep overtook her, leading her into the realm of unconsciousness, saving her from the sorrow that was knocking on her heart.
