Pallas looked on, as Kai ran from one corpse mount to another. There were no living beings in the entire battlefield. Next to the corpse of a fairy, there was a necromancer who had gone as far as to turn himself into a Lich.
The man must really be in love, Pallas mused, to wound his own soul so.
As he heard the gnome yell a name in the distance, Pallas blinked. There, right in a crater, there were two cores. With lumbering steps, Pallas went to the strangely dug hole.
The hole was colder than the already frosty misty day. As the giant picked up one of the cores, he noticed that there was a soul inside!
"Oh, so there are survivors?" Something whispered back to him, as he picked up the second core and pocketed it.
For a second, he could have sworn that someone was watching him. He would have left, had he not heard a weak cough.
