Uta's concert was coming!
With the king's command, the entire island of Elegia began preparing for the event. The students at the music school were abuzz with curiosity—who was this girl, taught personally by the king, and hailed as a voice from another world?
Uta found herself surrounded by a group of girls taking her measurements for a beautiful dress. Even Luffy couldn't squeeze his way in, and Uta, amid the unfamiliar attention, felt a bit overwhelmed but secretly delighted.
Luffy, observing from the sidelines, stroked his chin in thought. "Of course! I could design a battle outfit for myself too!"
He'd finally realized what was missing—a fitting outfit to show off his coolness.
Stepping in front of a large mirror, Luffy examined himself. The training had added definition to his face and strength to his body. Inspired, he grabbed some paper and a pencil, and for the first time, put his art skills to practical use.
He began sketching—a black jacket with a burning circular symbol on the back, like a black sun. Then he added black pants and some half-length gloves.
Excited, he glanced at Uta, who was surrounded by admirers, and decided to find a tailor instead of waiting.
"Make this outfit for me, and put it on the king's tab!" Luffy declared, slapping his sketch on a tailor's worktable.
The tailor glanced at the design. "It's a decent drawing, but I'm very busy. If it weren't for the king's orders…"
Luffy realized he needed to convince the tailor, especially since his usual clothes weren't exactly impressive.
"I'm also one of the king's students! I'm the one who studies art!" Luffy blurted, hoping his connection would persuade him.
The tailor looked him over skeptically. "You? Studying under the king?"
"Got any proof?" the tailor challenged, tapping Luffy's chest, expecting an excuse.
"Well… Uta's my friend. Does that count as proof?"
"If you can prove you know Miss Uta, then sure, I'll believe you." The tailor looked over at the popular girl who was the talk of Elegia and everyone's hope for its musical future.
Luffy raised his voice and called, "Hey, Uta! Over here!"
Despite the crowd, Uta caught sight of Luffy waving and made her way over, curiosity in her eyes. The crowd shifted as she moved, drawn by her presence.
The tailor blinked in surprise. "You really know Miss Uta!"
Now the tailor was all smiles, patting Luffy on the shoulder and enthusiastically grabbing the design from his hands. "Your sketch is quite impressive, kid! I'll make sure you get your outfit."
"Luffy, what are you doing here?" Uta asked, hands on her hips.
The tailor couldn't resist, "Oh, that voice! Such heavenly melody!"
"Amazing, Miss Uta! Please, you must remember my name. I'm…" he trailed off as he reached for her hand, bending down to kiss it in a dramatic display.
Men and women alike around them looked at Uta with adoring eyes, addressing her as "Miss Uta" in reverent tones.
"Seriously, it's just a voice!" Luffy yanked the tailor's hand away with surprising strength, leaving him clutching his wrist.
"Ouch! Kid, you're stronger than you look…"
The tailor eyed Luffy with newfound respect. Though small, the boy's strength was unexpected. "You don't understand," he countered, "Uta's voice alone could save all of Elegia!"
With a proud tone, he launched into an impromptu history lesson. "In ancient times, Elegia was the renowned Music Capital, with countless compositions to its name. Even Alabasta couldn't compare to us, until one musician unleashed a Dark Symphony…"
Elegians often reminisced about the past, lamenting that if it hadn't been for that dark chapter, their country would be even more prosperous today.
"Did you design this, Luffy?" Uta asked, noticing the sketch.
"Looks like you can draw more than just hearts. This outfit is really stylish!" She could already picture Luffy in the outfit in her mind.
"Pretty great, right? Did they pick out your dress yet?" Luffy asked, full of pride.
"Yes, it's a little white dress that I really like. I'll wear it for you tonight!" Uta said, eager to show Luffy her new look.
She couldn't wait. In the dream world, it could be conjured up instantly, and she felt that reality was so much slower and less convenient.
"Is this your friend, Uta?" a few girls asked, gathering the courage to approach her.
Everyone wanted to be friends with the beautiful and talented Uta, especially with her bright future. They rarely got a chance to see her outside the palace, so they were quick to seize the opportunity now.
"Yes, this is my friend, Luffy," Uta introduced him warmly.
Luffy glanced at them, aware of their intentions, but shrugged it off.
After all, this was the world of pirates—a world of fists and strength.
These small-timers, confined to one island and fixated on petty fame and fortune, would ultimately gain nothing.
One powerful figure, like Blackbeard Teach, was enough to overthrow a kingdom like Drum Island, forcing its king into exile.
That was the reality of power.
And besides… Uta would be leaving Elegia soon. What could they possibly gain from her?
