Chapter 2 - My Luna Power

**LAYLA'S POINT OF VIEW

My blurry eyes couldn't open for a minute, but when they did, I woke up in an empty, dark room—a room that is so dark that I couldn't even see my hands or feel my wet legs.

I felt the coldness the water was producing, even though my whole body weakened like a dead person.

"Hello, who's here? Please respond." I shouted on top of my voice, but nobody seems to hear me.

I'd lost my memory within a blink of an eye.

I don't know how I got into the mysterious room alone.

After a few seconds, I decided to walk my way out of the dark room. I moved my right leg slowly, but I couldn't go forward.

There was an unknown force stopping me from moving away from my spot.

"I dare whoever is doing all this magic trick to come out now or I'll make sure you pay with your life." I sounded so determined.

Then suddenly, a bright, shiny light brightened the room like an eclipse. I couldn't see it clearly.

The shiny light widens to a big moon that almost swallows my frickin body from where I stood.

"My child, welcome to my world." The calm voice said to me.

I could feel my heart aching as I heard the strange voice. I used my right hand as a cover for my eyes to see if there was anyone behind the bright light, but all I could see was just the white, shiny light.

"Who are you? please, and where am I right now?" I asked calmly.

"Child, you might feel you are lost right now; no, you are not, but you might not remember what had happened to you. Let me assist you, Layla child; you are at the edge of dying right now in the hands of the man you chose to be your mate and be marked by him, and I'm sorry for your loss." The voice said it with an old feminine sound.

Her voice juggled my memory to what had happened to me before it all went blank, and I quickly remembered my child.

"My stomach is flat; where is my child? Am I dead right now? My heart raced as I moved my hand to touch my stomach.

"You lost your child when your mate stabbed your stomach; in fact, you are about to lose your own dear life, but I pull you back because of the promise I made when you made a wish at the tree of life." When I heard about my wishes, I concluded it's the moon goddess talking directly to me.

"Are you the Moon goddess? My curiosity made me ask.

"Yes, child, and I'm here to help you as promised." The moon goddess said.

"Uh, you are absolutely wrong You have to save me and not my child; what'sthe essence of saving me when you couldn't even save my child? Where were you when Karl was about to kill my unborn child? Tell me. I asked her frankly with eyes filled with tears rolling down my cheek.

"What is destined is definitely destined. Child,I can't change that; you need to go through so many challenges for you to be whom you are supposed to be in the future. As for the wish you made to make your unborn child a very powerful person, it can still be fulfilled, but in another way." I could hear the seriousness in the moon goddess's voice now, so I calmed my nerves.

"What do you mean?" I was so eager to comprehend her.

"The soul of your unborn child had been granted Ultimate Luna power, and her soul would be restless until she fulfills her destiny. With her soul inside you, you can become the most powerful Luna that has ever existed, and you can avenge the death of your child and your whole family." I sensed a disturbing message from her last word.

"My family! What happened to my family? I had 100 percent seriousness glued to my face.

"Your parents with the rest of your royal family have been killed by assassins sent by the same set of people that wanted to kill you but ended up killing your child instead." She said, and my body raged with a lot of anger inside me.

"Please, Moon goddess, I'm ready; I'll do anything to avenge the death of my unborn child and my family." I quickly requested before she changed her mind.

And the light got very close to me; I thought it's another trick of hers until the light entered into my body.

As the radiant light infused my body, I felt an otherworldly energy coursing through my veins. My cells ignited, and a new soul awakened in me, transforming me into a vessel of ancient power.

"You have a great power inside you that must only be used for good and not for bad deeds. You might find yourself crying when your power is activated; the more you cry, the more powerful you will become. You are the most powerful person. Child, you are a Luna, but I want you to heed this warning; the soul power will end your life if you use it for more than 120 days.

"120 days?" I quickly raised a quick question.

"Yes, you have the privilege to use the power for 120 days only, after which you will die, unless you are able to find a mate that shares the same soul as yours.

"Remember, Lala, it shouldn't be more than 120 days."

I could hear her voice still ringing in my head as the car drove very fast into different potholes on the road. I was still bleeding at the back of the car. I was so shocked to see myself in a car with a man I don't know; he never stops driving and checking on me every second.

"Princess... Princess Layla, are you awake? Wake up; it's me, Gerald; your father's guard; he asked me to get you out of the royal abode." Gerald briefed me while struggling to catch his breath properly.

My eyes escape the inner part of the car to the side mirror just to see different cars chasing after us.

Gerald drove unknowingly into Moonshine, and once they confirmed it's a no-go area for them, they all went back.

Moonshine are known for their resources and strength, and no city wants to go to war with them. They are blessed with very powerful people with a lot of strong men that can destroy any city.

However, immediately we entered into the enemy's range; unfortunately, Gerald fell to the ground while holding his neck tightly.

"What happened, Gerald? I asked him when I saw his body covered with his own blood, just like mine.

"Princess, I've been shot in the neck; my mission had started when I gave the letters to Lucian to warn you, and now it will end by saving you. I need you to go as far from this place without me; please go now." He insisted while he struggled for his life.

"So you are the one, Gerald?" I wish I had known; maybe he would have explained the second letter for me.

"Yes, Princess, please open the second letter. The letters are from your father, and he said if you fail to heed the warning of the first letter, then you should make use of the second one. Please,  your majesty, open the letter while I'm gone." He hardly breathed very well, and my eyes couldn't see another human so much pain.

So I left him beside the car, and I continued running for my dear life like he had advised with the little blood in his vein.

"Gerald, you are my father's most loyal guard till the last day; I'll never forget how you risked your life for me. I would find you if you survived this, and if you eventually die, I would avenge your death, that I promise." I committed myself to a promise for the man who used his life to save mine.

Meanwhile, as I proceeded, I took out the letter from my inner drees and tore the brown envelope open; on it reads,

"The second encrypted letter."
