King David's Point of View
The moonlit clearing was abuzz with tension as the most powerful alphas of the Werewolves gathered a week after Sheila gave her frustrating speech. Ancient long chairs and tables stood sentinel, witness to the weighty discussion.
The room echoed, all the leaders murmured in silence, Alpha's voices weaving a tapestry of speculation; I could perceive each of their breaths.
He had called for a meeting after my queen stopped the ceremony, which was graced by four Alphas of the strongest clan; now she had made more enemies for me than I ever had.
Until a deep voice echoed in the room, linking to everyone's ears, which communicated a perfect silence.
"Settle down everyone." Alpha Karl walked in side by side slowly with King Malakai to his throne.
"Your majesty, I thank you for inviting us to this honorable sitting. I don't really have much to say about what happened on your day; I know she's from my tribe, but I want to know who gave that peasant the audacity to speak comfortably in our midst; it was a great insult to your name, and I think we should just cut her wings and restrain her from flying; after all, she's just a maid that made it to the position of a Queen in Moonshine." Alpha Ryder's gave strong suggestions that made me want to take my anger out on him, but I calmed myself.
Alpha Ryder of VALMORT PACK of Moonshine is a 40-year-old scarred man who is known for his treacherous thinking and ways of achieving his personal desires. I know one day we shall venture into WAR to complete our unfinished business.
He had been aspiring to be the next Alpha King of Moonshine after the mysterious death of my father. Whenever I see his ugly face, all I can see is the killer of my father.
I still find it so inconvenient to believe a whole Ember Alpha was killed like a rat.
He has the power to control 100 werewolves and the strength of a giant, but he was easily killed with a silver-mouthed arrow struck at his back.
He was one of the people I suspected. Ryder led my father's pack on a mission the same day he met his demise.
I look forward to a day when I will have evidence that he had hands in my father's death, and then I'll rage WARS upon his households.
While I was still roaming in my deep thoughts, the second Alpha uttered loudly.
"Your Majesty, the only Alpha King of Craftanwood, I sincerely support the opinion of Alpha Ryder; I will say for the first time in a lifetime you've spoken out of good sense." Alpha Thane sent a word wolfsbane to Alpha Ryder and expressed his grudge with a murmur in silence.
However, Alpha Thane continued.
"I don't care who she is; I don't want to know who she's with or married to; all I know is that she's a low life, and a low life doesn't have the power to dictate an investigation on a dead issue; who among us knows whether she's a spy for Layla, the former King's prodigal daughter who killed her own families for wealth?" Alpha Thane of Crescendo Pack made his point loud and clear to our ears.
I never let my emotions or anger get to me at that moment; I covered my blue eyes anytime any of them spoke to hide my anger.
Alpha Thane had been a sworn enemy to Moonshine since he lost one of his wolves to our Blade when he pretended to be one of our guards and managed to steal a royal secret golden shield.
He was caught by Caleb and handed over to my father, who ordered his killing as a spy immediately.
At that moment, my eyes met with Alpha Malakai and Alpha Karl by his side across the long royal table. I fixed my strong gaze on each one of them sitting by the table.
"I was so excited to see their faces; evil Alphas all gather to take over my father's land; they want to use Sheila's speech against me; I won't bow to no evil even if I'm about to die under their blades." My mind runs the thinking while my hands lock together to hear all the trash they have to say.
After a few seconds, four ladies came into the room, each holding a tray filled with different red wines. As they walked towards each one of us at the table, I quickly signaled to one of them to skip mine.
My father's last words still ring in my head like a bell.
"David, don't ever trust anyone in this life; trust got me here, and it's also taking me out of this world." He was far gone from me or the people of Moonshine.
I kept my silence and opened my eyes to see all of them feast on such an occasion. Alpha Ryder smacked one of the ladies from behind and laughed.
"Come here, baby." Alpha Ryder leaks his lips with his desiring eyes fixed on the lady's open cleavage.
Meanwhile, she ignored him and walked past him towards the others, but his two bold eyes were still glued to her figure 8 shape.
The gathering went silent as Alpha Malakai stood up to address the issues. He first all linked with every one of them at the gathering, but I was able to block him with my special ability known to only me and my dead parent.
I can block any sort of werewolf mind control or witchcraft. I was told that I inherited a witch power from my mother, Diana, and a werewolf power from my father.
"It's a great privilege to see you all at this beautiful gathering. I'm so glad you all made it even after the disgraceful act done by Queen Sheila of Moonshine. I am standing in front of you now to tell you my final decision. She had promised to bring all the culprits to justice, so I dared her to do it within 120 days as she promised, and if she wasn't successful, God help me she would be humiliated in public." I could smell the coup among all of them; they all stood up at once to cheer him.
Then all of a sudden Sheila came in through the door out of nowhere and responded to his threat.
We all kept silent and directed our eyes towards her bold entrance.
"I still stand by my promise, and I don't intend to change it anytime all culprits are exposed." Her voice roamed very loudly throughout the four corners of the room.
As she was about to leave the room with King David, her eyes met with a tiger tooth necklace she had once given to her first lover.
Sheila couldn't move her plastered gaze at him; even as she watched him under the black mask, she fixed her head on where he stood gallantly at the back of Alpha Ryder.
"Let's go."
I quickly grabbed her hand and head outside the room.
