Chapter 1 - Classic Evenings

LAYLA! Get your feet off the table and sit properly. But mom Layla tried to reply. Shh, you are eating your dinner on the couch and still talking. Don't talk about why your mouth is full, honey, table manners. Alright whatever it's not like I wanted it now; I took a nap and overslept, missed dinner, and now I am trying to eat dinner while watching the TV, said Layla in her head. She just smiled at her mom and continued staring at the TV.

Suddenly the couch flopped as Layla's dad sat beside her. I am changing it to the news, declared her dad. But Dad, it's after 9 pm; what do they show again? Whined Layla as she made a baby face, trying to convince her dad to change it back to her teen drama show. Oh, if it's like that then, I am going upstairs and none of you can stop me before Layla could leave a girl who looked younger than her; about 7 years old stopped her. What do you want? Christine, "Dad says we should all watch this; it is live, and it's quite odd to do a live broadcast this late at night. Maybe you should give it a try," said Christine. As she finished what she said, she went to sit beside her mom, who had already taken Layla's spot. Layla groaned, "Oh, come on." Layla then sat next to her dad; a text popped up on her phone. She read aloud, "Evening got anything you doing tonight.". Before she could reply to the text, her mom glared at her. That better not be any late-night partying stuff; you know what happens if you get into issues with me. "Stop it," silenced Layla's dad, who continued the news has started.

A middle-aged guy who looked pretty excited popped up on the screen. I found it. He said, Look and behold it. He pointed at the clouds in a particular direction, and some mysterious-looking fog appeared to be in the background.
