I stared at them for what felt like hours… tears flowed down my eyes, and my arm instinctively opened up for a hug.
My body froze completely with my arms wide open, my parents ran toward me, giving me a heartfelt hug.
A hug I should've given them as a child and when I was a teen, "Kim…" my mother said under her breath, happy to see that I was safe.
I hugged them back, looking at my mother and father's crying faces… How did they get here? Why are they here?
I felt a hand placed on my shoulder, I looked up and saw that it was my father, his expression was bright, I could see the red bag under his eye, but I could tell that he was genuinely happy to see me once again…
"Kim, where did you go?" My mother said, "Your father and I looked for you for months… but we couldn't find any traces of you…" I could hear her voice trembling in sadness, she hugged me tightly.
"Months?" I mutter under my breath, I been gone for months? Before I could ask my mother questions, I saw her on the ground, wiping her tears away in happiness finally being able to see me again.
I slowly helped her get up on her legs, my father patted me on the back and told me not to leave again… "Please… don't leave us…" I stared at him blankly, so much stuff was happening at once that I didn't know how to react.
"I won't!" I assured him, and he nodded at my response with a relieved smile.
What going on…? I looked at my family once more, seeing them again. I smile lightly, "Ah… it doesn't matter. I finally see them once more."
My father looked at me with confusion and asked me who I was talking to.
"Nothing!" I told him, wiping away the tears that were flowing down my cheeks.
"Kim… let's go home, you're probably starving by now, poor dear." I nodded at what my mother said, before I could take a step forward, my father looked behind me and asked, "Kim, my boy! Who's those behind you?" I slowly looked back at what my father was talking about. "Are those your friends?"
I saw Vas Allen standing there waving his hand, Luc Mugen and Uma Micheal ran up to me, hugging me before I could react.
My parents were surprised, two kids were hugging me without any warning, while Vas Allen slowly walked up to me and greeted my parents.
"Hello, Mrs. Mugen and Mr. Mugen!" Vas Allen said with a smile, trying to hide his nervous expression. My parents were shocked, they had never seen me with any friends before and yet there was a boy who greeted them as my friends.
Uma Micheal interrupted Vas Allen and introduced herself and Luc Mugen, my mother chuckled a bit and asked her if Vas Allen is her older brother.
"No, actually Kim is-" I cut Uma Micheal off and told my parent that she is Vas Allen's younger sister and Luc Mugen is her childhood friend.
They looked at me weirdly at the way I was acting, Vas Allen noticed what I was trying to do, play along with me. "Oh, I forgot to introduce my sister and her friend." He said, his smile was awkward, "Like Kim said, Uma Micheal is my sister and Luc Mugen is her childhood friend!" Vas Allen repeated what I just said to my parent.
My parent looked at Vas Allen with suspicion, the glanced over toward me for a moment and look back at Vas Allen. They reach out for a handshakes thanking him for being my friend.
"Mom!" I said embarrassingly, "You didn't have to thank him for being my friend-" my mom interrupted me and shakes her head.
"Kim… when someone is willing to be your friend, you must hold them dear to you!" She said with wisdom, my dad nodded at what my mom say.
I couldn't say anything, I look toward at Vas Allen and he was flattered by my mom words. He looked over at me and started to pat my shoulder.
"Don't worry Kim! I will always be your friend!" He said with a toothy smile on his face, the sun reflected on his shiny teeth and shine straight into my eye.
"Enough goofing around." I said to Vas Allen, I glanced over at my mom and remind her that we should start heading home now.
She was surprised at how much time has passed, she grabs my dad hands and started walking toward the direction of our house.
"Come Kim!" She said while dragging my dad along with her.
Vas Allen let out a slight laugh and said to me, "Your parents are quite nice!" I thank him for his kind words toward my parents and before I could take a step forward ,Luc Mugen and Uma Micheal was still hugging me tightly.
"I don't know how my parents didn't question me about this but why is these kids still hugging me?" I thought to myself. "I mean Luc Mugen I get, but Uma Micheal? Yeah, no!"
Vas Allen stood there looking at me with a smirk, I brush it off and looked toward the kids. "I think that's enough hugging for today." I said softly.
Luc Mugen was the first one to let go of me, I would've thought it was Uma Micheal instead…
I glanced over at Vas Allen and ask if he can help me but he was having a great time watching this.
I scoffed at him and asked Uma Micheal why she was still hugging me?
"Just because…" she said with a grin. "Because of what?" I asked.
"Because I just wanted to annoy you!" I looked at her and was confuse, that's wasn't a good way to annoy someone.
After that, she finally let go of me. My parents yelled out in a distance. "Cmon guys! Instead of playing around here, why not enjoy ourself with dinner first?"
Vas Allen looked at me with a smile and patted my backs as he started walking toward my parents, Luc Mugen and Uma Micheal followed behind him.
I stood there peacefully, looking at all of their expressions, my smile brighten as I see them walking alongside one another.
"They look so happy…" I thought to myself, before I could stand at the same spot for longer, Luc Mugen looked back at me and called out my name, followed up by Vas Allen then Uma Micheal.
My smile stood frozen on my face as I finally take a step toward them.
What used to be a wish turn to a reality, somone other than my family cared for me. This might as well be an illusion, but it's my illusion! This might as well be a dream, a dream in which I can only hope for.
With every steps I take, was a steps closer to being with my friends. Every steps I take, was a steps closer to being with my family and with every steps I took, is a step closer… to finally being home!
