She stepped out of the shadow of the cliffside, her face pulled taut with concern. "I've heard rumors of something—odd reports from the southern lands. The villages are vanishing. There is a sickness—flesh rotting, crops dying in the fields, and no one understands the reason."
Aiden's brow furrowed. "A disease?
Not like any sickness I have ever seen," Lyra stated. "The people speak of a shadow, a presence—something that walks among them, unseen, until it strikes. It moves in the darkness."
Aiden's heart clenched. "It's no coincidence. If the Eclipsed Ones are gone, maybe their magic remains. We should try to find out who is responsible for this illness.".
