The battle was over. With it went its destruction; that last residue of power over Eldoria the Eclipsed Ones had was the Heartstone. With its shattering, the gradual process began: the healing of the lands, and shadows that had held sway for so long slowly receded into the distance.
But at what cost, Althor thought in dread silence.
Aiden, Lyra, and Caelum were brought to the breaking point. Their energy was exhausted, their bodies battered, but they triumphed. This time for good: the world was finally free from the Heartstone's stranglehold.
Standing on the battlefield, looking out over Eldoria as the dawn broke over that place, they knew that this was far from an ending. There would be darkness: there always was. But as long as the Guardians stood together, light to fight it would always exist also.
And so, with this in mind, they began to rebuild—watchful, vigilant, ready for whatever came next.
