After eating Beau and the other two headed to class while Kai was thinking of a way to get beau be his friend. It was already late so Kai decided to go back to his dorm . On his way
his brow furrowed as the system beeped insistently in his earpiece. "Warnings: incident detected probability of occurrence : high imediate action required"
"What incident?" he muttered under his breath, glancing around. His heart raced as he recalled the whispers he'd heard earlier about beau and Lucas is in the cleaning duty that day. And atlas had to go home early due to some business.Something was off, and he needed to figure it out fast.
Meanwhile, in the janitor's closet, Lucas leaned against the wall, a smirk plastered across his face as he filled two cups with soda. "Hey, Beau! Want to try something new?" he called, holding up a cup that sparkled suspiciously.
Beau, with an easy smile, walked in, wiping his hands on his apron. "What is it this time, Lucas? Last time you tried to prank me, I ended up with a face full of whipped cream."
Lucas chuckled, pouring in a few drops of a clear liquid. "This is just a little something to spice up our cleaning duty. Trust me, it'll be fun!"
Beau raised an eyebrow, hesitating. "I don't know, man. It looks kinda sketchy."
"Come on! Live a little!" Lucas pushed the cup forward, his eyes glinting with mischief. "Just one sip. You'll thank me later."
As Beau reluctantly took the cup, a warning bell rang in Kai's mind. He glanced at the clock. It was after noon. He had to move.
"Hey, Beau! Wait!" Kai shouted as he sprinted down the hall, his shoes slapping against the polished floor. He could see Beau lifting the cup to his lips, and panic surged through him. "Don't drink it!"
But Beau, caught off guard, paused and looked at Kai, confusion etched on his face. "What?"
Before Kai could reach him, Lucas lunged forward, grabbing Beau's wrist. "Just drink it, Beau! It's all in good fun!"
"Let go of me!" Beau yanked his arm free, spilling some of the drink onto the floor. He pushed past Lucas, anger flaring in his chest. "You're such a jerk, Lucas!"
Kai's heart raced as he watched the confrontation unfold. He could see the tension in Beau's posture, the way he was trying to escape. But as Beau turned to leave, he miscalculated his step on the stairs.
"No!" Kai yelled, watching in horror as Beau stumbled and fell, his leg twisting awkwardly beneath him.
"Beau!" Kai rushed forward, adrenaline pumping through his veins. He reached the stairs just in time to catch Beau before he hit the ground. "I got you!"
But the impact still sent a jolt of pain through Beau's leg. He groaned, trying to sit up. "What happened? I can't—"
"Just breathe. You're going to be okay," Kai reassured him, glancing back at Lucas, who stood frozen in shock. "What the hell were you thinking, Lucas?"
Lucas stammered, "I was just joking! It was supposed to be funny!"
"Funny?" Kai shot back, his voice low and dangerous. "You could have seriously hurt him."
Beau winced, trying to move his leg. "I think I might have twisted it. I can't play in the tournament now."
"Don't worry about that," Kai said, his focus solely on Beau. "Let's get you to the nurse."
As Kai helped Beau to his feet, he felt a surge of protectiveness. He wouldn't let anyone hurt beau not now, not ever. He glanced back at Lucas, who was still standing there, a mix of regret and defiance on his face.
"I didn't know you had some cheap tricks like that ." Kai warned, his tone firm. "If you ever try something disgusting like that again, I won't just stand by."
With Beau leaning on him for support, they made their way down the hall, the earlier chaos fading into the background. Kai knew they had a long road ahead, both for Beau's recovery and for dealing with the aftermath of Lucas's actions. But one thing was clear: he would always be there to protect beau .
