Chapter 11 - chapter 10

Kai takes beau to the nurse's office and as he's applying medicine

, beau says, "Thank you." Kai replies, "It doesn't matter, it's okay. I did it because I want to protect you." Beau insists,

"No, I really have to thank you. If you hadn't come, I don't know what would have happened to me. Thank you so much." Kai reassures him, "It's okay, your leg injury isn't that severe. You can still participate in tomorrow's tournament." Beau hesitates, but eventually agrees to give Kai his phone number. Kai responds cheerfully, "Thanks! I appreciate it." Beau looks at Kai suspiciously at first, but then agrees, "Okay, fine, I'll give you my phone number"

---

The morning sun streamed through the gymnasium windows, illuminating Beau as he skillfully dribbled the basketball down the court. The crowd erupted into cheers as he made a final, impressive shot, sealing the victory for his team. The exhilaration of the win buzzed in the air, and Beau's teammates lifted him onto their shoulders, celebrating their hard-earned success.

Later, in the classroom, Kai leaned against his desk, a playful grin on his face as he chatted with Beau. "You know , that was some crazy play out there! I thought you were gonna miss it for sure!" he teased, nudging Beau's shoulder.

Beau laughed, brushing off the comment. "Thanks , I get that a lot !" Their camaraderie was evident, and Atlas watched from a distance, a frown creasing his brow. Jealousy bubbled up inside him as he wondered what had happened the day before to bring them so close.

Across the room, Lucas sat seething, his anger simmering just below the surface. Ever since Beau had started ignoring him after their fight, he felt the weight of betrayal. "What's with you and Liam (kai) , Beau? You're just going to forget about our friendship?" Lucas muttered under his breath, his frustration mounting.

Kai, oblivious to the tension, continued to joke with Beau. "If you keep playing like that, we might just have to recruit you for the varsity team!"

But Beau's smile faded as he shot Lucas a sidelong glance, ignoring him completely. Lucas's fists clenched in anger. "It's all Liam's (kai) fault," he spat, glaring at his rival. "If he hadn't been around, you wouldn't be acting like this!"

After school, as Kai made his way toward the dorm, he was suddenly confronted by Lucas and a couple of his lackeys. Lucas stepped forward, a menacing grin on his face. "Well, well, if it isn't the little puppet master himself. Think you can just swoop in and take Beau away from me?"

Kai raised an eyebrow, unfazed. "What are you talking about? Beau can make his own choices, Lucas. You should know that by now."

Lucas's face twisted with anger. "You think you're so clever, huh? It's all your fault that he's ignoring me! You've poisoned his mind against me!"

Kai chuckled, his cheerful demeanor unwavering. "Even if I hadn't been around, Beau would still ignore you for what you did. You really think he'd want to hang out with someone who treats him like that?"

Lucas's eyes narrowed, and he took a step closer, his lackeys flanking him. "You think I'm scared of you? Bring your little jokes all you want, but I'm here to teach you a lesson."

Kai smirked, his playful spirit shining through. "Oh, please! You think I'm going to be intimidated just because you brought some friends? That's cute." He dropped into a fighting stance, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "But I didn't know you could fight, Lucas. Didn't think you had it in you!"

As the tension in the air thickened, the system chimed in Kai's ear, "if you're going to fight,I didn't know you could fight"

Kai shot back with a cheeky grin, "Heh, what do you think? I've got a few tricks up my sleeve!"

Suddenly, Kai's voice rang out, "Hey, Lucas! Look behind you!" Lucas turned, his heart racing, but when he looked back, there was nothing there. Kai had already slipped away, leaving Lucas even more irritated.

"Get back here, Liam (kai)" Lucas shouted, but it was too late. Kai was already gone, and the frustration boiled inside Lucas, his lackeys looking at him, unsure of what to do next.
