"Wake up" a familiar voice called to him. Maybe he had imagined it or possibly it was a dream. Ether way it had pulled him back to his senses. He had been pulled under the water by unrelenting waves. Desperately he fought for air. Each time he got his head above the water another wave would pull him under again. Suddenly the water around him began swirling as a maelstrom formed. "Is this all you've got!" he yelled in defiance. "This won't kill me!" Under all the pressure to survive, Berry's mind had snapped. No longer able to cope with the ever growing danger he kept finding himself in.
He bellowed in hysterical laughter as he was pulled down into the depths.
Berry hit the ocean floor hard. As he looked up he could see sky but was surrounded by viciously swirling walls of water. That's when a familiar light caught his eye. It was a dungeon door. A dungeon had spawned out here on the sea floor. Was it random, divine fate, or a cruel joke being played on him by the gods. Berry didn't have time to consider any of these points. As soon as he had noticed the dungeon door the walls of water began to crumble. Berry stood up to run but as soon as he did he realized his leg was broken. He hadn't noticed do to all the adrenaline coursing through his vains. He grit his teeth pushing himself, "I'm not going to die here!" Each step was excruciating but he made it. The door opened with a touch as he was blasted in by the cascading water.
Berry summoned his light, the last thing he needed was to be taken off guard. The entrance was very similar to the last dungeon he was in. A short hall led to a empty room with another path leading away from there. It was most likely a safe place to prepare before taking on the challenges of the dungeon. Satisfied that he wasn't in immediate danger he prepared to heal himself. The little red orb hovered around his leg forcibly resetting the bone. He then proceeded to remove the dagger from his shoulder. Blood gushed out in a spray but was quickly stopped by his healing orb. Berry's laughter sounded very unhinged. After talking care of his injuries, refilling his core and a quick purifying light he was ready to see what horrors awaited him.
The path was narrow and dark. It continued on for a short ways before coming to a fork in the path. "Rights right" he said with a srug before going down the path to the right. The path was indistinguishable from the earlier one but before long he arrived at an identical split. "Try the other path" came a whisper from just over his shoulder. "Who's there?" He yelled turning in surprise. No one was around. Hesitantly he took the left path. He found himself gripping the dagger in his hand very tightly. Between the darkness and the silence he was completely on edge. He kept imagining shapes in the dark and had a since that he was being watched. The darkness stretched on for hours as he walked alone. Finally he came to another intersection. As he approached he could see a figure crouching near one of the tunnels. It had the shape of a man but was thin. It looked almost starved. When it turned Berry's heart began beating faster. The creature had no eyes just empty sockets were eyes should be. It appeared as if it had ripped its own eyes out. Berry moved swiftly and silently. His prey couldn't hear him due to his magical boots. With a viciously aimed strike to its neck the blind thing fell. As it hit the ground a thud echoed out breaking the silence.
Screaming filled the tunnels as hundreds of the blind monsters rushed towards Berry. He didn't know which way to go, the screams seemed to come from every tunnel. "Down the right one" a voice whispered in his ear. Without hesitation or questions he ran down the tunnel. His legs carried him swiftly and his boots silenced him. He knew it was the only thing keeping him safe. Before to long he came to a sudden stop. Berry found himself in a large room with countless of the blind standing about. He held his hands over his mouth and did his best to slow his breathing. He wanted to turn back, he wanted out of this place. Berry could see a large door on the other side of the room. It looked like the door to the boss room he had seen in the other dungeon. Berry moved slowly through the room, doing his best not to touch any of the blind. Their eyeless and nose less faces passed close to his face with every one he passed. He could feel their hot breath on him as it sent shivers down his spine. He wanted to push their bony body's covered in gray skin away. Finally he reached the door. It opened with a touch. Luckily it didn't make a sound as the door opened.
In the center of the room stood a creature cloaked in a red robe with a hood. As the door slammed shut behind him Berry turned back just in time to avoid a battle axe. If he hadn't stepped back he would of been cut in half. Quickly he dived under another swing rolling behind his attacker. Berry stabbed his dagger into the cloaked figures back. As he pull it out he was struck in the face by its elbow. Berry went tumbling to the floor but immediately had to roll to the side to avoid another attack. After getting back to his feet and a little distance, he finally got a good look at his assailant. It was one of the blind but much taller and with a massive muscular body. It was at this point Berry realized it wasn't moving or attacking. It didn't know where he was. Berry smiled as he realized this. He moved behind the boss monster and threw his dagger into its back. It immediately swung in the direction of the attack but Berry had already moved out of its range. Running as fast as he could Berry ripped the blade from its back and got a safe distance. He repeated this hit and run attacking until the monster finally crumbled to ash. Berry retrieved the bosses core before making his way to the chest that had appeared. Inside was a pair of gloves. They didn't look special but the same could be said for his boots. As soon as he put them on he could tell they were enchanted. Instinctively he knew anything he aimed at he could hit. Berry made his way to the orb in the corner of the room. As soon as he touched it he was warped out of the dungeon. He had expected to be at the entrance but was surprised to find himself midair. He was falling and the water surface was approaching fast. Out of the corner of his eye he could see a island not to far off.
