Chapter 20 - Dominator Vs Three Fathers

Before they reached the place, they felt Cororoco's building core was gone, and by the time they reached there, they only met with shimmering blood that their buildings were about to consume.

Cororoko was gone, not even his blade and armour remained.

"It's still injured. And the injury might be big. We shouldn't allow it to heal!" Kororoko said. In anger he followed the trail of the blood, making his whip glide on the floor to consume the blood.

Tororoto followed afterward in anger.

But Bororobo didn't follow, even as they urged. He was thoughtful. 'Cororoko evolved after he delivered the injury, but despite the injury, the beast killed Kororoko very fast!'

The more he thought the more his thoughts became darker before a realization came.

Bororobo touched the building wall and began to seep inside and hide before spreading his perception outside and inside.

He felt the beast running toward the next building core. It was fast and silent, but Bororobo noticed something: the large wound on the beast didn't seem to bother its movement.

One thing he knew was that red juice felt more pain than denizens, but there was no hindrance to the beast due to the new wound. That wasn't the only anomaly.

The anomaly was that the beast wasn't even anxious.

As a beast that tried to escape because of them, now it wasn't showing any fear at all. It's as if it owns the place and everything is under control.

Bororobo wasn't an idiot; he had battled many beasts in the past, and he knew an apex predator when he saw one.

His siblings, too, were like that, but the difference was that the baiting of the beast's blood allured clouded their judgment due to their desire for evolution.

Or maybe Bororobo was able to think properly because he doesn't have a core building. As the building was part of them they were in constant urge to improve and develop.

Basically, the beast was now inside the stomach of monster buildings, and the blood dripping from the beast was being consumed by the buildings. The newborns have to be fast to get scraps.

It was contemplating when things began to happen outside.

A Father came dragging a large body of serpent into the metropolis.

The whole place was filled with the new red juice aroma and even Bororobo swallowed hard.

"100 Cores for 1kg of this fat rank 3 meat. Something none of you can hunt!"

Fathers weren't allowed to come to metropolises unless they bring goods like these for transactions.

Immediately, those with extra building cores began to move to inspect the serpentine body.

The Chimera Treader felt fear, its instincts telling it the danger was close by.

On another side of the metropolis, in a cave, was a pale woman, reeling in pain and holding a white device.

She was the serpentine beast human that faced an Axe Father before. She would have died if the father unexpectedly turned and left her.

Then, she ran away and began to heal when she felt the father coming.

She has no choice but to sever her accumulated body to escape with her life.

Now the woman was barely a Shifter. However, all hope was not lost as she managed to reach her leader who was now coming here.

Hopefully, he will be here before her body begins to be distributed as a good for sale.

She gritted her teeth as she saw 1 kg of her flesh had already been sold. Something she noticed was the father looking around as if searching for something.

"You have grown well here!"

A sharp hissing sound reached her ears, and she bent the knee immediately.

"Greetings." She said, trembling.

"Calm down. You did nothing wrong. You are brave to stay in this dangerous place to hone your skills!"

She swallowed her, his hissing voice caused her muscle strands to vibrate in weird ways.

"There are three fathers here, you will consume two and send one to the gateway!"

"Yes." She acknowledged.

He stretched his muscles and put on a helmet that covered his face.

He won't be transforming as that will give his identity away.

The thing was, he, too, wasn't allowed in the metropolis, but as long as he didn't harm any of the newborns, he wouldn't be kicked out immediately.

However, he doesn't care if the other father's stray attacks kill some newborn. He stepped forward and pushed, he reached sonic speed, blasting the fragile girl back.

If she had her power, this wouldn't even phase her, but she was weak now.

Challenges in the Gateway are divided into groups; Hard, Dangerous, Calamity, Death, Nightmare and then Unknown.

Blind Sanctity grouped as Unknown as it was a new realm; maybe in the future, it will be among Nightmare or Calamity.

Hard and Dangerous were tamed in a way that whatever a Challenger met was within their relatives Tier and reasonable understanding.

At Calamity and Death, one will face unimaginable power that will crush them without them even knowing.

The Being was the only known Death realm. This means a First Challenger may even meet up with a Ninth Challenger, and if one's luck is awful, they may end up becoming enemies.

If that didn't happen, then two Ninth Challengers battling near him would die without knowing what hit you.

This was the danger of The Being, the only Group Death realm.

But hope was not lost as there were rules set that managed to smoothen things up, but the danger still lurk.

The Tier 6 individual was high above, falling on the Axe Father, his head covered with a faceless mask, and his body covered with smooth thin fabric that hid extremely lean but pact with powerful muscles.

Before he reached his destination, from the wall of the metropolis, another Father with a chain swung at the Dominator.

From the ceiling, another Father jumped down with floating giant blades that number 200, all shooting at the Tier 6 individual.

The appearance of the enforcers sent an alert throughout the place and the newborn began to run into their buildings.

Carnage has bangs at their door.

Each building became more robust, and all windows closed before they all merged with the floor, which increased their strength.

Their running wasn't because of the clash that will happen but because of the aura that will be released.

The newborn knew of the rules and knew they wouldn't be actively harmed, but stray fire exists, and also the rule doesn't stop the use of aura.

The reason was that denizens of The Being can't die of pure aura clash of any kind. They may lose power, faint or become crippled but no death can ever come to them because of aura.

One of the best training for them was to expose themselves to a high-tier aura of many kinds, which would temper them and make them stronger.

This was the case because they were technically part of The Being, unlike other monsters and beasts that will burst at the slightest exposure to high-tier aura.

For example, the serpentine woman will burst to a pulp at just less than 10% of the Dominators' Aura.

In fact, among beasts and monsters, their most potent ability was their aura. One can dominate a fight with a weak physique when they have an incredibly potent Aura.

The Axe Father that dragged the serpent body looked up and smirked, with three of them, they could take down a single Dominant.

Boom!

The four powerhouses clashed.

The Chimera Treader had long reached the third core, gobbled it down, and was battling the three newborns.

The fight was fierce and the beast truly tried hard not to get more injured.

The newborns weren't stupid; they knew the beast was stronger than them individually, and so they took measures.

One of which was what Bororobo was doing, he was manipulating the building and attacking the beast.

Sharp spikes rose and attacked from the walls and floor. Pressure was released from the building ceiling to slow down the beast's movement while also enhancing the body of the newborns.

This was how they were supposed to fight any beast that came inside their building, not hunt it manually like before.

The newborns also seeped inside the walls to escape whenever the beast was attacking them.

Boom!

The Chimera Treader trembled just like them as the building pulsed with more power protecting them from the flood of Aura slamming on the outside wall.

A flurry of fist and weapon clashes was heard by them, like a fast-forward symphony before the sound of something cracking and the wailing of someone was also heard.

The wail, which was a groan of pain, released a shock wave that rattled the buildings, making weak ones among them crack but then healed as they consumed energy from the ground.

The buildings used to float because they didn't want to be gradually swallowed by the ground but in situations like this, they have no choice because they need a constant energy supply from ground to enhance the building walls.

Not to mention, it was by this process that their building could make more Cores; all they had to do was resist the merger of the building and the ground.
