Soren
I leaned back in my chair, my hand gripping the phone tightly as I waited for Darius to pick up. He answered on the third ring,
"I need to speak with you," I said as a way of greeting.
In our world, we don't exchange pleasantries. There was simply no time for that.
"What's the occasion, Alpha Soren? Didn't think I'd hear from you so soon."
"I have a task for you," I said in an even tone, "I want Alpha Victor found and delivered to me. Alive."
He paused for a moment before letting out a dry laugh. "Victor? That idiot? I've got plans for him. Why would I hand him over to you?"
I closed my eyes briefly, forcing myself to stay calm. "I'm aware of your plans, Darius. I don't care what you do to him after I've had my say. But he needs to come to me first."
"And why would I agree to that?" he countered. "How do I know you won't just kill him outright and ruin my fun?"
