Chapter 2 - The Boy Follows Along

With his knife tightly grasped, the young man gives him a wary glance.

Sebastian can smell the flow of the blood in the veins. Sweetly, tantalizingly. But the child was too young for his taste.

His father would flip his head once he found out.

With a groan and annoyance flickering to the surface, he saw the boy continue to shiver.

A smirk curled on his face, like he found something amusing.

"Are you cold? Do you want my jacket?" He asked with a careless grin.

The boy looks at the unfamiliar tattooed man, who came out of nowhere, but he could sense something was off, a hunch or intuition to be on guard.

His stomach was in knots, trying to figure out the man's intentions.

Why did he save me? What should I do?

Sebastian notices that the boy was spacing out, making him look dazed and dull-witted.

Sebastian sighed, thinking this little guy is a little stupid. Taking off his jacket, causing the boy to be startled, his eyes widen like saucers.

Throwing the jacket at the boy who was frozen on the spot, but he still didn't put it on.

Sebastian watches him with lingering amusement.

Arching a brow. "Are you going to put it on before you freeze to death?"

The boy gulps before putting the knife in his mouth, watching his every movement with viligence.

Putting on the large jacket, he only looks smaller, like a malnourished dog.

Tilting his head, he turns around and walks away, planning to leave the boy behind.

His father would be proud. He didn't kill anyone, despite wanting to. Second, he saved his life and gave him a jacket.

Thinking about the task, he needs to get into the morgue. First, getting the key from his father.

In order to do that, he needs to distract his father. If his father finds out, he would be even more furious for trying to interfere with the mess.

Slowing down, he could hear soft, light footsteps behind him. Turning around, he saw the boy was following at a close distance.

With a grunted voice. "Go away. Don't follow me."

Narrowing his eyes at the boy. How annoying. He doesn't want to take care of a pesky kid. He felt a little relieved at the sight of the boy backing off after the words.

Turning around, he started to feel hungry again. He hasn't fed in a couple of hours. He would have to go find his brother. He might have some fresh blood bags.

Lost in thought, he didn't realize the boy continued to follow him, silent as a mouse.

A smirk curled on his face. He knows how to distract his father. The boy. He could use the boy to distract his father while he goes to the morgue.

Thud!

That's when the realization hit him. The boy still followed him, despite telling him to get lost. Turning around as he was about to say something.

The boy fainted, his body lying on the snow, yet Sebastian could tell he was still breathing by the faint movement in his chest.

Knelting down on the frozen ground, he lifts the boy into his arms. His body was so lightweight, light as a feather. Looking down at the boy with furrowed eyes.

Was he starved? Why is his body so light? Regardless, you're lucky you have some use after all.

Holding the boy against his chest with a firm grip, he could feel the body shivering, so he pulled the jacket closer.

Using his supernatural speed, the distant sounds of crickets and the whispering winds fade into the background.

Whoosh!

———-

Ten minutes later

Stopping at the house, he could hear yelling inside the house. He walks through the door, his mother and his father arguing about something.

From the sounds of the argument, he could speculate it was about him. He knew his mother would be furious about the fact he got slapped. She's like a wild bobcat, overprotective of her baby kittens.

At the sound of the door opening, they turned at the sight of Sebastian holding something in his arms. Something was covered by a jacket.

His father's eyes widen, a small fury about to erupt like a volcano. "Don't tell me you killed someone else now?!"

"Did I tell you not to do anything for now?"

His father walks close to the body, wondering what his troublemaker son is up to now.

Sebastian chuckles mischievously. "Of course not. Actually, I didn't do anything this time. In fact, I saved someone."

His mother and father look at him with suspicion, like being told that the sky is red when it's actually blue.

His father asks dubiously. "Really? Who did you save?"

Sebastian removed the jacket from the face. A tiny head with scattered hair popping out the jacket, although the face looks pitiful and distressing for any viewers.

The boy's face was scrunched, like stuck in a nightmare. Although the face was pale and ashen, Sebastian sighed dramatically. "I found this boy in the deep woods. I thought he was so pitiful, so I took him home."

The mother stepped forward; she touched the child's forehead. Looking at her husband with irritation, but anyone could see the hidden worry. "Get over here! You're a doctor for goodness sake!"

His father stepped forward, putting his finger on his neck, to feel the pulse within.

Looking at his son with suspicious eyes, he had a feeling his son was up to something. He wouldn't help someone because he's a good person. In fact, he wouldn't be surprised; he saved the boy for a motive. But he can't focus on that right now. He needs to help the unconscious boy.

With a relunctant tone. "Go put the boy in the medical room. I'll go get the supplies."

Nodding his head, he walks away from them. With a smirk, the plan is in action. All he needs to do is leave the boy there, and his father would be too busy taking care of him.

Leaving the boy on the medical table, he was about to take his jacket back, but he couldn't pull it. Looking down, he realized the boy had a grip on his jacket. His fingers had a tight grip, like a fierce, little wolf that couldn't let go of the toy.

His face didn't look peaceful, his eyelashes flutter softly, yet the traces of blood across his face didn't dimish his looks. In fact, it only makes him look even more pitiful.

Wiping his forehead lightly, he said with a soft, mocking tone. "Little brat, behave while I am gone. Keep my dad distracted, I will give you a reward."
