Quinn grins a cheerful smile, but the spitefulness within his eyes only makes his grin more sinister and nastier. Without warning, Quinn threw out a swift punch, not giving Sebastian a chance to dodge.
Pow!
A sharp pain lingers on his cheeks, a reminder of what happened. Sebastian stumbles to his knees; he groans as he holds his cheeks.
His cheeks throb and tingle.
Sebastian felt uncontrollable fury growing, making him want to act in retaliation.
He looks up at Quinn, then an unexpected burst of laughter comes out of him.
Quinn frowns, "That's how you can make it up to me, asshole."
Sebastian knew his brother was pissed this time, so he tries to control the urge to lash out. Standing to his feet, despite feeling wobbling.
Sebastian grins, tasting blood within his cheeks, sweet and disgusting cloying. With a soft sigh, "Do you feel better?"
Quinn narrows his eyes, anger flickering before returning calm. He nodded and said frustratingly. "Sorta. I still want to punch you, but I'm ignoring that urge."
Sebastian laughs; the pain is reducing before it fades. Vampires have the ability to heal faster than the normal human healing rate.
Licking the last trace of blood that lingers on his lips, he exhaled before the last edge of anger finally ceased. He said in a soft, mocking voice, "Let's go home now."
I guess I deserve that!
Rolling his eyes at the thought, but he would never admit what just happened. It was kind of embarrassing to let his little brother punch him just after his father slapped him. It's like everyone has some sort of grudge toward him.
They turned toward the direction of the house and walked through the door. Sebastian arches an brow at the sight of his parents dressed in clothes as if they were about to leave. His mother was wearing a casual, red wine-colored dress with a simple necklace filled with black gemstones. His father was dressed in a gray suit, his hair sleek backward in a bun.
His father was holding his mother's arm as they walked down the stairs. His father aches his brow at them. "Where did you go?"
Sebastian was about to speak up, but Quinn grips his shoulders, a warning to be silent, making Sebastian want to ask what he's doing.
Quinn grins cheerfully. "He took me to the woods, and we catch some rabbits."
Sebastian felt his heart skip a beat, his face grimacing; he wanted to ask Quinn what he's doing.
Father looks at Sebastian for confirmation; Sebastian swallows and nods in agreement. He asks, "Where are you going?"
His mother, Emma blushes, a pink blush shadowing her cheeks, before she says, "Your father is taking me out to eat."
Sebastian was surprised; his father hasn't taken her out to eat for months. Father laughed and kissed her cheeks, with an adorning look in his eyes. "That's right, darling. I'm taking Emma to get something to eat."
Sebastian didn't care too much; his parents could do whatever they wanted as long as they didn't bother him. He walks up the stairs as he kisses his mother's cheeks, smelling a lavender scent oozing off of her.
She must be wearing perfume.
Walking ahead, then he felt a firm tug on his shoulder. He looked at his father, who had a serious look across his face. "When we get home, you and I need to talk about that boy. There's something you need to know."
Furrowing his brows, but he nods in response. I wonder what that was about.
After that, he walks toward his room at the end of the hall. Walking through the door and flicking the light on. Sebastian shuts the door behind him, and he was startled by an unexpected sight.
The boy he had rescued was lying on his bed, sleeping like a baby, the blanket covering him, except his head popping out of the blanket.
His face was peaceful and childlike, snoring softly in the room. Sebastian walks closer and sees that he was changed in fresh, clean clothes.
His black hair tousel against the pillow that reaches his shoulder, making his face more stand out.
Why is he on my bed?!
Internal thoughts ran rampant through his mind. Sebastian headed out the door and shut the door silently, not wanting to wake the sleeping boy.
Heading down the stairs, the house was silent and dark, making him feel more lonely than he expected. He knew—his parents left home.
His chest feels tightened—a familiar feeling that courses through him, the one he tries to ignore. Turning around, he could hear something. A clicking sound like the sound of the door opening. His heart floods with anxiousness; he remembers that his brother is still in the house. Quinn's room is next to his, where the boy is sleeping. Don't tell me he's with the boy!
Whoosh!
He ran upstairs, faster than any human speed possible. His thoughts run like a rampant vine that squeezes his heart, twisting in anxiety. As soon as he got upstairs, the door was cracked open, and there was audible breathing.
Sebastian walks in the room urgently; he sees Quinn, who seemed to be staring transfixed upon the sleeping figure. He was licking his moist lips, his pupils flashing bright crimson, where black veins seemed to pulse alive beneath his eyes.
It's his eyes that catch Sebastian's attention—hungry and desire.
Sebastian knew Quinn is the type that hasn't fed on human blood for along time and typically stays away from humans because of his lack of self-control.
He grips Quinn's wrist that was heading toward the sleeping boy, who was unaware of how close to death he was.
Gripping his wrist firmly as he whispers harshly, "What the hell do you think you're doing?!"
Quinn was startled, the flickering crimson turning back into normal color—black eyes.
Quinn looks at him meekly; shame dripped through his words. "Um—I don't know. I—I was so hungry. His blood calls to me."
Sebastian sighs in annoyance and looks at him harshly before tugging his wrist away from the boy. "Get away from him before you do something you would regret."
