Chapter 4: Something's Off with Mikoto!

Two days later.

Konoha's White Fang arrived at the front lines, raising the morale of Konoha's shinobi.

To others, Uchiha Yosuke was lucky to be assigned to Tsunade's squad, returning to Konoha for some rest.

Back then, as top students of their graduating class, Uchiha Yosuke, Nawaki, and Minato Namikaze were each placed under a disciple of the Third Hokage as their jonin instructor.

"Kid, keep up."

"Yes."

Along the journey, Tsunade seemed unusually irritable, likely due to recent intelligence scrolls.

Yet here she was, in the prime of her youth, with her iconic golden pigtails and striking presence.

With a firm expression, Uchiha Yosuke maintained vigilant awareness of his surroundings as the group made their way back to Konoha as fast as they could.

Perfect Version - Chimera Technique

Right now, Uchiha Yosuke's mind held a forbidden jutsu he shouldn't have access to in this era — a perfected forbidden technique.

It was a skill he'd unlocked in his previous life as a top-seller in the game world, using his free time to enjoy its unique rewards. He never imagined it would accompany him to this world.

'This jutsu is powerful, but extremely difficult, especially at the perfected level.'

Only in this real shinobi world could he truly understand how dangerous these forbidden techniques were.

It allowed him to steal and absorb others' bloodline abilities, strengthening himself, but each use required a significant amount of time to fully integrate with his body.

'In that case, using the technique to absorb a bloodline ability would still require some gene-stabilizing drugs.'

His gaze shifted subtly toward Tsunade, and a smirk tugged at his lips.

Wasn't there the perfect source of support right here? After his first time using the jutsu, he'd certainly need Tsunade's help. After all, concocting such potions on his own would be time-consuming and expensive.

A few days later, they finally returned to Konoha.

Senju Clan Grounds

"Grandma Mito, regardless of whether this intel is true, we must ensure Nawaki's safety!"

Once back in the village, Tsunade first went to the Hokage's office to report on the mission, then returned to her clan's grounds.

Meeting with Uzumaki Mito, her face showed obvious concern.

Uzumaki Mito, aged and frail, could no longer hold back the years, even with the Yin Seal on her forehead. She was at the end of her life.

After hearing Tsunade's report, a serious expression appeared on Mito's kindly face.

"That old Uchiha Setsuna sure has changed."

"Looks like he's finally learned some tricks, or maybe being imprisoned last time made him wiser. Now he's resorting to scheming from the shadows!"

Her grandmother's first thought was that this Uchiha elder was taking a more devious approach than before.

"Grandma! Nawaki—!"

Tsunade was visibly anxious, but Mito gave a stern huff.

"Being so rash won't get you anywhere!"

Even though Tsunade was known for her fiery temper, she was obedient in Mito's presence, sighing helplessly.

Meanwhile, Mito pondered for a moment before speaking solemnly:

"Nawaki's safety must indeed be ensured. However, if someone is plotting against him even under Orochimaru's watch, Tsunade, you should recognize the gravity of the situation."

This time, Tsunade's face turned serious, and she nodded grimly.

"Orochimaru is one of the strongest jonin in Konoha; few can match him. He's also highly perceptive. If someone truly wants to harm Nawaki, they'd have to wait until he leaves the village!"

There's no way to guard against a persistent thief every single day!

At this, Tsunade clenched her fists in anger.

"Damn it! Do they think the Senju Clan is just going to stand by?"

Mito's face grew pensive, and she let out a heavy sigh.

Despite her esteemed position, as Konoha's Jinchuriki, she was essentially a weapon of the village, now almost imprisoned within it.

"Tsunade, I am old and won't live much longer. If this is true, it may be time to send Nawaki away."

Tsunade froze at her grandmother's words, staring at her in shock.

Mito shook her head with a sigh. "You might be able to stop this time, but what about the next?"

"The Konoha of today no longer needs the Senju of old."

"The Senju of old..."

These words left a bitter feeling in Tsunade's heart, and after a moment of silence, she nodded solemnly.

The Konoha of today was no longer the era where the Senju could dominate.

"Finally, I'm back!"

Back in Konoha, Uchiha Yosuke was basking in the sunlight, a contented smile on his face.

Having spent so long in the perpetually rainy Land of Rain, he never realized how much he'd missed the sun.

The Uchiha Clan grounds, though no longer as respected as before, were still in a prime location within Konoha, not yet relegated to the outskirts.

"Yosuke, welcome home."

As Uchiha Yosuke stepped inside, a voice greeted him from within, causing him to stiffen.

"Mikoto-nee!"

In the room stood Uchiha Mikoto, a gentle smile on her face, carrying a standard-issue Uchiha longsword. But her eyes had a strange intensity.

Seeing her, Uchiha Yosuke's expression froze.

Mikoto walked toward him, effortlessly lifting her hands to hold his face.

"Don't! Mikoto-nee, I'm still—"

Before he could finish, she gently pried his eyes open, examining them closely as she murmured softly, though her tone held a subtle sharpness:

"Still haven't awakened your Sharingan? Yosuke-kun, you're such a little weakling."

A weakling!

It was bizarre to hear such harsh words delivered with a kind smile, especially from such a gentle-looking girl.

How very Uchiha of her!

After all, the Sharingan's awakening often involved a deep psychological shock!

Seeing the two red tomoe in Mikoto's eyes, Uchiha Yo's expression turned envious yet resigned.

So it's true.

Mikoto's Sharingan had evolved!

The awakening and evolution of the Sharingan were tied to intense emotions, often involving the loss of loved ones or deep suffering.

With each new stage, special chakra flooded the mind, stimulating the spirit further.

Newly awakened Uchiha, or those who had just evolved, often displayed volatile moods, easily irritable and prone to anger, requiring careful guidance to stabilize.

"Mikoto-nee!"

As he closed the door, Uchiha Yosuke suddenly, with an intense look, shoved her onto the ground and pulled out a something he'd long kept prepared.
