Chapter 138 - Chapter 138: Breaking Through the Swarm

After spending three days with Ai Er on the Hurricane Prime Star, Feng Mo set off again, taking Hua Qin with him. Ai Er remained behind to oversee operations, ensuring that the steady flow of talent and resources from the Chen family in the Snow Eagle Galaxy continued into the Hurricane Star System.

Feng Mo didn't linger in the Celestial Crystal System; he proceeded directly to the Beast Roar Prime Star. The spaceport there was in ruins, with a fleet of logistical ships anchored to repair the battered structure.

The Hurricane didn't dock at the spaceport, instead landing in the heart of the Beast Roar Prime Star. Thanks to the giant beast tooth hanging from the ship's prow, no wild creature dared to approach it.

A beam of light transported Feng Mo and Han Peipei to the planet's surface. The environment remained in its original, untouched state—no paved roads, no high-rises, only a vast, primordial forest.

Feng Mo wore a combat suit, carrying a small shovel in his left hand and a lead box in his right. Behind him, Han Peipei bore a large container filled with energy blocks.

Breathing in the fresh air, Feng Mo noted that this world's environment was even better than that of the Hurricane Star System. Despite this, it was still a Level-3 life planet, while the other habitable planet in the Beast Roar System was only a Level-2.

During their arrival, Ai Er had discovered that the planet held more than fifty million human and humanoid prisoners, previously used as test subjects by the New Humanity Church. These individuals had been safely relocated to the Celestial Crystal System for resettlement.

Walking leisurely through the forest, Feng Mo enjoyed the sounds of birds and the scent of flowers, feeling his mind relax. Still, he didn't forget his mission. Finding a shaded spot, he used the small shovel to dig a large pit, laid down a layer of energy blocks, placed the Life-Devouring Ancient Tree seed at the center, and filled the pit with soil.

The tree would enter its growth phase within a month, at which point it would need a large amount of flesh and blood. Feng Mo had already prepared for this—he planned to use the mutated species captured from the New Humanity Church as feed. If those weren't enough, there were always interstellar alien species.

After planting the Life-Devouring Ancient Tree, Feng Mo traveled to the northern part of the Beast Roar Prime Star, where he planted the T4 Bloodthirsty Vine. Then he moved to the southern part, planting seven T2-level interstellar seeds.

As for the T3 Cinnamon Lotus, he'd left it with Chu Yunjian before departing, instructing her to plant it in the pond of their estate. For her own happiness, she would surely take good care of the lotus.

With the seeds planted, Feng Mo returned to the Hurricane. Rebuilding the spaceport, constructing space stations, and building a star gate were all time-consuming tasks, so there was no need to rush. After all, Feng Mo was still young and had plenty of time for development.

After a busy morning of planting, Feng Mo entered the main control room, where he received a video call from Gu Jun. Upon connecting, he saw Gu Jun in the command center of a starship, surrounded by bustling officers. Gu Jun's face bore a rare expression of urgency.

"Xiao Mo, the interstellar insectoids are launching a full-scale invasion and mounting a major assault on the Xuanwu Star Fortress. Several insectoid ships bypassed the fortress, infiltrating the Northern Sky Gate Space Station. The northern region's four major empires are furious, each dispatching a T5 fleet to the frontlines. My Yunshan Fleet is among them."

"But I just received a communication that your cousin, Gu Yanyan, who is on a training mission with her academy, and her friends are trapped on a planet while operating a T3 fleet. They've been overwhelmed by insectoids and urgently need help. After weighing my options, I felt you were the best one to go to her aid."

Without hesitation, Feng Mo replied, "Don't worry, Uncle Gu. Send me the coordinates—I'll depart immediately!"

"Good, good! I'll transmit the coordinates now. Thank you, Xiao Mo." Gu Jun ended the call, visibly relieved. The interstellar insectoids had been attacking the Federation's northern Xuanwu Star Fortress in waves for over a year. Northern fleets had been reinforcing the region continuously, but the pressure remained immense. Now that T5 fleets were engaged, the insectoids were clearly a formidable threat.

"Han Peipei, alert the crew! The Hurricane, Mastodon, and four T4 Scorpion stealth bombers are to resupply immediately. Also, have Feng Tianyi lead a ten-man mech squad onto the Hurricane. All other ships are to return to the Hurricane Star System and await orders from Ai Er."

"Yes, sir!"

This time, Feng Mo intended to travel light. With two quasi-T5 flagships and four T4 stealth bombers, his fleet would be fast and versatile—perfect for a rescue mission where every second counted.

Once the fleet was fully resupplied, Feng Mo personally entered the coordinates into the control panel and ordered, "Coordinates set. Route secured. Engage level-four synchronized warp mode. Switch to combat mode upon arrival. Successful mission completion will be rewarded with a pay raise!"

Just then, the Spark System displayed a new temporary mission notification:

[Temporary Mission: Rescue Gu Yanyan. Reward: 1000 points.]

Gu Yanyan, Feng Mo's cousin, wasn't a blood relative, but the two had spent about three months together during childhood. Feng Mo's memories of her remained of a young girl with a gapped smile.

The fleet set out from the Beast Roar System, passing through the Celestial Crystal and Reef Systems before reaching the Hurricane Star System. They used a star gate to cross into the Yunshan System, then sped toward the Northern Sky Gate Space Station, maintaining warp mode throughout, except when traversing the star gate.

After a grueling fourteen-hour journey, the fleet reached the designated coordinates. The location was near the Z139 Star, where Feng Mo had previously been stationed, and close to Z227, another frontline planet held by the military as a defensive bulwark against the insectoids.

"Sir, we've arrived at the coordinates. A military fleet ahead is engaged with numerous insectoid mother ships. Z227 is under heavy assault from insect swarms!"

Viewing the radar images, Feng Mo saw that Z227's perimeter was swarming with insectoid mother ships. On the planet's surface, over half the territory had been overrun, with remaining mech units and soldiers valiantly holding their ground.

Nearby, a Federation relief fleet was locked in combat with the insectoid mother ships. Judging by the wreckage, the battle had been raging for some time.

"Four T4 Scorpions, assist the Federation fleet and eliminate all insectoid mother ships. The Hurricane and Mastodon will focus

on clearing Z227's surface of all insectoids!"

"Yes, sir!"
