Davaille's point of view
I jolted back into a conscious state when I heard my father's loud voice retorting through the throne room. His voice raged as it could send cold shivers down the spine of anyone. My father wasn't just an ordinary alpha; however, he was dreaded and feared, and I had every guts to lie to his face without flinching.
I knew the alpha of the pack wasn't someone to be underrated easily. As I stepped out of the throne room, I felt my heartbeat pound heavier as my feet suddenly turned cold.'
I just hoped for one thing: my father had no idea who he was. I took a deep breath as I headed towards my bedroom.
For a moment, I felt like screaming it all out; I was finally going to live the life I wanted so badly. A faux smile spread across my face as I glanced through the room.
I stepped out of the bathroom, raised my head forward, and looked around as I noticed footsteps and spotted him.
"What the hell are you doing here?" I said, almost raising my voice at him, though I had no choice but to keep him here with me till I had the chance to execute my plans.
He choked a cough as I looked upwards; I couldn't help but notice his handsome face. He smiled at me as my face flustered.
The room temperature suddenly became hot; was I already falling for the young man? …. That was impossible; the only man I would ever love was the one who stole my heart in my past life; I was forever loyal to him.
"Why did you release me? You should have just let me die." I spotted him walking towards me.
"Stop," I told him as soon as he kept walking towards me; his deep eyes only spelt the coldness I had never seen in ages.
"What do you mean by that?" I staggered trying to construct my sentence; I couldn't even understand why I was scared of his sudden coldness.
"What's your motive behind releasing me? I promise to expose every one of your tactics, Princess Ariana." His growling voice said, and for some minutes I couldn't help but stop myself from laughing.
"You," "..., " you want to stop me, "it's like you have forgotten your identity, you have forgotten who you are, and the difference between both of us." I gritted my teeth; he was annoying.
"I'm Princess Ariana of the Xiaomi kingdom; I gave you life outside trenches, gave you freedom, and took you away from death, so who are you to question me in such a manner? "Since he was thinking more superior, the only thing I had to do was to threaten him.
"Would you please get out of the room?" I said politely without sparing him a glance. Returning to the mirror, I started to apply serum to my face while rubbing it gently.
Looking at his broad back, which was about to open the door, I felt relief through my veins. I returned to the mirror, and I started to serum my skin.
"I guess we both need one another," he said, and that gave me some sort of reassurance. At least I didn't need to deal with two problems at the same time.
"Whatever you are planning won't work, I assure you that. "His statement made me feel so insecure.
"Did I have to do this?"? However, it was too late to go back to my words.
"Manna", I said with a glint of surprise written over my face. She looked at me like there was so much joy in her eyes as she glared at me.
"It has been a year since I have seen you, Ariana," Mana said teasingly as she looked at me while cupping my face in her gentle hands. I hugged her tightly as I stayed in her hands for minutes. In those hands, I felt immense comfort that I had never felt.
Manna was like the perfect mother I had always wished to have; she loved and cared when I ever needed her the most. Though I hadn't seen my mother before because I was told she died at my birth, Manna had always been there.
"The dinner has been served; come ahead to eat." I nodded as I approached the door.
"I would be there in a jiffy."
Once she had left the room, I relaxed on the white, soft master bed created just for me. Momentarily, I closed my eyes as I glared into the sky; all I could see were the night embers and the small gutters of stones, which made the beautiful piece surface well.
I sat up on the bed, and I muttered a silent prayer, taking a deep breath. It was going to be okay; it was something I knew was right there in my heart.
"Everything will be fine," I smiled as I proceeded my way towards the dining room.
I couldn't just help but feel this cold anxiety that anchored through me, the wave of emotion that surged around me, and whatever it could be. I was prepared to meet the worst of it all.
However, I couldn't help but remind myself of the feeling of emptiness.
"Do you have to fake a mate?" Ruby said. Ruby had been my wolf spirit; however, she had not been active for so long.
I felt so relieved after hearing her voice.
"I think it's necessary; it can only be my escape route out of this kingdom," I said quietly, trying to ask for her advice.
"You would be guided by the ancestral spirits; I need to rest; I'm weak. "After hearing her faint voice, I tried to persuade her to stay a little.
"Ruby" !! I called out to her; however, hearing her faint voice, I couldn't help but feel di
stressed.
Ruby !! I called impatiently. What was going on?
