Kael's POV:
Holding Astrid very close, I tried to comfort her as she was very shaken. The nightmare had shaken her pretty badly; even though she was trying to act fine, I could sense the unrest lingering in her mind.
As I continuously stroked her hair, I couldn't help thinking about the nightmare she'd had, the way she'd described it.
A woman, one that was mysterious and that we'd never seen, taking the baby, Astrid unable to move, her voice muffled, and I hurt. Indeed it sounded quite similar to a scene from a dark, twisted tale.
I knew deep down that her fears were not unfounded.
We have been hiding in this sanctuary for a while now, maybe weeks? It was hard to keep track of time here.
I knew that it was only a matter of time before our enemies would come kicking the doors down. And when that happens, we need to be long gone from here.
