Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

A splitting headache was all he felt and with a blurry conscious all that he sensed was pain. Pain so sever that he lost his consciousness. As he slipped into a coma he felt a sudden warmth that made his body comfortable and energized and voices in the background that sounded like murmurs, all he could make out clearly was a sobbing soundthat now sounded distant.

That was all he sensed as he embraced the darkness and floated in the endless void unaware of the passage of time. After an unknown period of time he felt a pull on his consciousness as if he was a metal attracted by a magnet, the attraction was towards a bright light and as he drew closer to it and touched this light source he felt a sudden shift .

Evergreen kingdom,Infernal dutchy.

Velvet county

The first rays of sun broke through the horizon bringing with it vitality and new beginnings. In a medium sized estate , east of the county capital the air was tense and gloomy. The servants whispered in hushed tones as the held their heads low as if they were afraid someone would discover them. On the second floor, in a dimly lit room there was a faint and soft sound of breathing akin to the last breaths of a dying man who just needed a gentle breeze to make him enter an eternal slumber.

A boy with soft features and silver hair was lying on a queen sized bed with soft fabric as his blanket, unless you looked keenly the tiny rhythmic rise and fall of the fabric would elude you. Opening his eyes with quite the difficulty, Brian looked around the room he was in, as much as the angle he was in could allow and a look of confusion was etched on his face. "Where is this place," his thoughts raced as tried to recall the events that lead to the diallema he was in. Foreign memories flooded his brain and in instant made him out of breath, "sigh this seems like a dream am yet to wake up from ."

Brian had transmigrated for reasons unknown to him. One minute he was dragging his drunk body into bed after a company dinner and the next he was here . He transmigrated into the body of Grant Morrison, the son of a successful merchant in velvelt county. He was the last out of three siblings but he was born with a innately weak and crippled body. That would have been fine if he was back on earth, where he could just live off of his father's wealth but his circumstances were a bit different. He had transmigrated into a fantasy world.

The fantasy world he was currently in was a magic fantasy world. Mages who could cast spells, knights who were like walking nuclear weapons and magic existed here. That would be a dream come true for most people but not Brian as what this meant for him was he had a higher probability of dying. In a world where power meant status and your overall standing in society safe wasn't a word with much meaning for the weak. The strong could do whatever they pleased as just as you said they were strong. Who would blame a person for killing an ant? No one and truth be told, the blame would probably be fall on the ant. This is the type of world he had transmigrated into. The laws in place might seem fair on the surface but in reality the scales shifted towards those high in status and nobility and this is what he knew to be the reality of this world. He didn't have to see it to know it's true as he had to do was infer from small clues such a their family having servants because this meant that this society was heriachical with only power and strength as the equalizing factor. That withstanding becoming a mage or knight too was no easy thing to do.
