Chapter 12 - The human name Jasther

Theodore and Mateo stood amidst the wreckage of the humanoid robots they had just defeated. The battle had been fierce, but their combined powers had prevailed. The once serene landscape was now littered with the remains of the mechanical invaders, their metallic bodies twisted and broken.

"We did it," Mateo said, his voice filled with a mix of relief and exhaustion. "We actually beat them."

Theodore nodded, wiping sweat from his brow. "But we can't rest yet. We need to find out if there are any more of these things around."

As they began to search the area, a faint sound caught their attention. It was a groan, barely audible over the crackling of the damaged robots. They followed the sound to a small clearing, where they found a man lying on the ground, his body battered and bruised.

"Who is he?" Mateo asked, kneeling beside the man.

Theodore examined the stranger closely. "I don't know, but he doesn't look like one of the robots. He looks… human."

The man's eyes fluttered open, and he looked up at them with a mixture of fear and confusion. "Who… who are you?" he asked weakly.

"We're the Robertson brothers," Theodore replied. "Who are you?"

The man struggled to sit up, wincing in pain. "My name is Jasther. I was thrown into space by the gods, but somehow, I survived."

Theodore and Mateo exchanged shocked glances. "We thought everyone was dead," Mateo said. "How did you survive?"

Jasther shook his head. "I don't know. I just remember being cast into the void, and then… I woke up here."

Before they could ask more questions, a sudden movement caught their attention. Jasther's eyes widened in alarm. "Look out!" he shouted.

Theodore and Mateo turned just in time to see a group of half-human creatures emerging from the shadows. These beings, twisted and deformed, were the result of the gods' cruel experiments. They moved with unnatural speed, their eyes glowing with malevolent intent.

"Get ready," Theodore said, drawing his black sword. Mateo's hands began to glow with the power of liquified mana.

Jasther struggled to his feet, his expression determined. "I can fight too," he said, his voice steady despite his injuries.

The battle was intense. The half-human creatures were relentless, their attacks swift and brutal. Theodore's sword blazed with fire as he cut through their ranks, while Mateo used his mana to create powerful barriers and launch devastating attacks. Jasther fought alongside them, his movements surprisingly agile for someone who had just been through such an ordeal.

Despite their efforts, the creatures kept coming, their numbers seemingly endless. Theodore and Mateo were pushed to their limits, their bodies aching and their powers waning. But they refused to give up.

"We can't let them win," Theodore shouted, his voice filled with determination.

Mateo nodded, his eyes blazing with resolve. "We have to keep fighting. For our mother, for our future."

Jasther's voice rang out above the chaos. "Remember what I taught you. Use your minds as well as your strength."

The brothers took his words to heart, using their knowledge and strategy to outmaneuver their enemies. Slowly but surely, they began to turn the tide of the battle.

With a final, powerful strike, Theodore and Mateo defeated the last of the half-human creatures. They stood victorious, their bodies battered but their spirits unbroken.

Jasther approached them, a proud smile on his face. "You have done well. You have proven that you are more than just warriors. You are true champions."

Theodore and Mateo exchanged a look of triumph. They knew that their journey was far from over, but with Jasther by their side, they felt more prepared than ever.

As they made their way back to the cave, Theodore couldn't help but feel a sense of hope. They had come a long way since that fateful day when they first met Jasther. And now, with their newfound strength and knowledge, they were one step closer to achieving their ultimate goal: the defeat of the gods.

Inside the cave, they sat around the fire, their bodies aching but their hearts filled with determination. Jasther began to share his story, explaining how he had survived the gods' wrath and what he had learned during his time in the void.

"The gods are not invincible," Jasther said. "They have weaknesses, just like any other being. To defeat them, we must understand their history, their habits, and their fears. Knowledge is our greatest weapon."

Theodore and Mateo listened intently, absorbing every word. They knew that the road ahead would be difficult, but with Jasther's guidance, they felt more prepared than ever.

For the next several weeks, Jasther trained the Robertson brothers in the art of strategy and combat. He taught them how to read ancient runes, how to harness their powers more effectively, and how to anticipate their enemies' moves. The brothers grew stronger and more confident with each passing day.

One evening, as they sat around the fire, Jasther shared a story from his past. "I was once like you," he said, his voice filled with nostalgia. "Young, eager, and full of anger. I sought revenge against the gods for the wrongs they had done to my family. But I was reckless, and it nearly cost me my life."

Theodore listened intently, his respect for Jasther growing. "What happened?"

Jasther sighed. "I underestimated them. I thought my strength alone would be enough. But the gods are masters of deception. They lured me into a trap and nearly destroyed me. It was only through sheer luck that I survived."

Mateo frowned. "So how did you escape?"

Jasther's eyes hardened. "I learned from my mistakes. I realized that brute force was not enough. I needed to be smarter, more cunning. I spent years studying their ways, learning their secrets. And now, I am ready to share that knowledge with you."

Theodore and Mateo nodded, their resolve strengthened. They knew that the road ahead would be difficult, but with Jasther's guidance, they felt more prepared than ever.

As the weeks turned into months, the Robertson brothers honed their skills and deepened their bond with Jasther. They learned to trust each other implicitly, knowing that their strength lay in their unity. They also discovered new powers within themselves, abilities they had never imagined possible.

One day, as they were training in the forest, they were ambushed by another group of half-human creatures, sent by the gods to eliminate them. The creatures were fierce and relentless, but the brothers fought back with everything they had.

Theodore's sword blazed with fire as he cut through their ranks, while Mateo used his mana to create powerful barriers and launch devastating attacks. Jasther fought alongside them, his movements swift and deadly.
