Reginald stepped into the pagoda like structure scanning his environment with his beady eyes. It was a push bar
He spotted another man who looked just like him in the corner. He slowly walked over and sat down in front of him charily.
"You are quite early, what is the occasion?" The other man asked. Reginald stared at him blankly and smirked.
"Gotten a deal from the arrogant trillionaire. He wants me to investigate a peculiar young man.
Ever seen him before?" Reginald asked bringing out a printed-out photo and showing it to him.
The man glanced at it and shook his head. "Must be his half-brother or something. I fuckin love family turn of events." He spoke, sipping a glass of scotch whisky.
"I doubt. He had resentment in his eyes. Whatever he wants with that lad must be big. A man of his status should not be interested in a man like him."
"What are you trying to insinuate?"
"I am saying that whatever the dude has we must get to it first. It will be our leverage against Moreno."
"Slowly there, you don't want blood on your new face, do you? must I remind you who you are messing with. Come to think of it, why the surgery." he asked.
"For my new identity dimwit!" Reginald yelled in a muffled tone in order not to attract the attention of the other people
"Well, it's not doing you any good either. You look like a total shipwreck." he said laughing hysterically.
"You should mind your business. that is not purpose." Raymond reminded with a scowl. He rose to his feet and put a hundred-dollar bill on the table. He whistled to the waiter, and he mysteriously appeared.
"I believe this should take care of his drink." Reginald said to him. "Why? where are we going?" The man asked with a suspicious look on his face.
"Somewhere compelling. Trust me, the feeling is nostalgic." He said with a grin.
The man reluctantly rose to his feet and walked out of the place with grimace followed closely by Reginald. They both entered the man's car and drove off speedily.
They drove for about a couple of minutes until the man realized where they were headed. Reginald had offered to drive, and he agreed since he knew where they were going regardless.
But for a moment he realized the unusual turns they kept making eventually wandering them into the woods. His heart began to race. He glanced at Reginald, but he reciprocated with a cold stare.
"Uh where are we going Reggie?" The man asked.
"It's okay Lesley, everything will be fine. " He said with his eyes still glued to the road. "What do you mean by that. where are you taking me?" Lesley asked.
Reginald still remained silent ignoring the question being asked. He accelerated and the car began to hit insignificant obstacles like tree branches.
At this point they were already deep in the woods far away from normal settlements.
Lesley started to feel uneasy. He couldn't feel his legs and sweat trickled down his face in drops. He suddenly remembered he had a safe plan in his box.
He slowly reached out to it to open it, but Reginald anticipated his movement and braked abruptly causing Lesley to fly out the front window. Reginald stared at the holed window and sighed.
"This shouldn't take long." he muttered under his breath. He brought out a pair of black rubber gloves. He put it on and brandished a pistol attaching a suppressor to it. He did the sign of the cross and stepped out of the car.
Lesley was crawling on the floor bleeding profusely from the head due to the fatal hit. He breathed heavily and his vision was blurry. Reginald looked on with roguish twinkle in his eyes and pointed the gun at him. Lesley who was struggling turned his back to face him.
"What are you doing brother? Are you crazy?" Lesley yelled on top of his voice.
Reginald looked and with a frown and pulled the trigger. The bullet landed straight in between his open legs. He flinched with fear and tried to get up but his vision blocked with the oozing blood.
"Save your breath and energy brother, you are going to need it.?" he spoke
"For what?" Lesley asked trying to stall him in a conversation but as usual he anticipated it. He tried to trip him down with his legs, but he dodged and shot him in the leg. He yelled in agonizing pain, and he stood like a stoic, watching with pleasure.
"Now it's my turn. Why did you give Moreno details of me?" He asked. "I didn't do anything. why will I betray you?" Lesley yelled.
"It's not a matter of why, It's a matter of what. How much did he pay you?" Reginald asked with a grin. "What the fuck are you saying, are you crazy?"
"Well, it seems the cat is not coming out of the bag. Let me do the talking then. Few days ago, to the meeting my records are stolen from the DA's office. Next thing I know you are hooking me up with a billionaire lunatic who knows exactly what I decided to put in that file. Sounds strange right? You are the only person who knows I still exist. I guess faking my death wasn't enough to fool the likes of you. How did you know I had a plastic surgery? Never mind... Noone is going to know anything after this." He said tightening the suppressor. "You are my unfortunate loose end" he added.
"So, what, you're just going to end me like Leah?" Lesley asked with a daring expression. "You have no right to mention her name you imbecile. She would still be alive If she hadn't cheated on me with you." Reginald yelled.
Lesley's face suddenly turned pale. "You think I didn't know? Of course I did. I was willing to forgive her but she, she was still crazy. I eased her of the pain and agony. I eased her of you." he said in a gruffy voice
"You are nothing but a psychopath. How could you kill your own wife."
"It would have been better if you had just kept your dick in your pants." he said with a calm tone. "And now for the final part monsieur, how would you want it, fast or slow?" He asked clocking the gun. He aimed it at him again and grinned.
"Any last words.?" he asked wrapping his hand around the trigger.
"Yeah, go fuck your..." Lesley tried to say.
"BOOM!" went the gun. Lesley dropped dead. Reginald stared at the lifeless body and screamed with all his might.
He quickly wiped the tears that were trying to form in his eyes. He walked over to the car and brought out a makeshift shovel.
He immediately started digging and before long, he had dug a hole six feet deep. He wrapped his body in a huge polythene pushed it into the hole. He threw the murder weapon along with it and covered it up.
He searched the area for any item that could link him to the act but found none. Satisfied he walked over to the car, sat in it and drove off speedily using another route out of the area.
