Chapter 48 - Tamara battles The knight warrior.

Meanwhile, far from the chaos, Elena and Richard sprinted through the darkened streets, their hearts raced with fear and adrenaline. They knew they had to warn the others about the impending danger and the relentless pursuit that was sure to follow. With the shadows closing in behind them, they raced toward an uncertain future, determined to survive at all costs.

The night air was thick with tension as Elena and Richard hastily made their way through the shadowy tunnel. Elena's voice trembled as tears streamed down her face. "They've killed my mum," she sobbed, her grief spilling out with each word. Richard's heart ached for her. He reached out, his hand resting gently on her shoulder, but the weight of guilt pressed hard on his chest. Your dad, I knew this was his doing, Elena continued, her voice shaking with anger. "He sees innocent people as monsters." Richard swallowed hard, feeling the shame burning on his face. His father's actions were becoming too heavy to bear. "I'm really sorry, Elena," he whispered, his voice hoarse. I never wanted this as he tried to console Elena, drawing her close into his arms. I promise I won't let anything happen to you, he said.

Suddenly, the scene shifts to Mrs. Charlton's compound. After her call with Mrs. Clinton was abruptly cut off, Mrs. Charlton sensed danger looming. She moved swiftly, alerting her husband and children. Informing them that she was leaving the house, and she would be right back.

Just as she was about to step outside, Mrs. Charlton froze. Parked just outside her compound was the van of the Knight Warriors, their presence unmistakable. Her instincts screamed that something was wrong. She quickly retreated back inside, grabbing her phone and dialing Tamara's number. Tamara, I'm in trouble, she whispered urgently. "The Knight Warriors are here." Before Tamara could respond, there was a knock at the door. Mrs. Charlton straightened, regaining her composure. She opened the door cautiously, finding the leader of the Knight Warriors standing with several men behind him. Hello? Who are you, and what do you want? Mrs. Charlton asked, her voice firm. The leader's eyes were cold. "We are searching for a boy," he replied, his tone devoid of any warmth. A boy? Mrs Charlton's brow furrowed. There's no boy here. We're looking for a boy named Richard, the leader continued. He recently made contact with Mrs Clinton, a known vampire. We are investigating that connection. Mrs. Charlton's patience thinned. "Are you interrogating me?" she snapped. "You do realize you're speaking to the law, don't you?" The leader's expression darkened. "We're doing our job," he said coldly. "Maybe you'll need to come with us for further questioning." Before she could respond, the leader's frustration boiled over. He lashed out, slapping Mrs Charlton hard across the face. The sudden act of violence was met with gasps from her family, who watched in horror from inside. Search the house!" the leader barked, his voice sharp with authority. His men stormed inside, overturning furniture and rifling through the rooms in search of anyone who might be hiding. Mrs. Charlton stood her ground, fury building within her as she watched the intrusion. Just then, a sudden flash of energy tore through the air, and a portal opened in the middle of the compound. From the swirling vortex, Tamara emerged, her presence immediately drawing the attention of the knight Warriors." Who is she?" the leader demanded, his eyes narrowing. "Get her!" The warriors charged at Tamara, but she was ready. With a swift motion, she drew her twin swords, their gleaming edges shimmering with a strange, otherworldly light. As the first of the warriors lunged toward her, she moved like lightning, her swords slicing through the air with deadly precision. Warrior after warrior fell, their bodies crumpling to the ground as Tamara cut them down with ease. The leader watched in shock as his men dropped one by one. "What kind of weapon is that?" he muttered, realizing too late that Tamara's blades were no ordinary swords—they were imbued with magic. Meanwhile, Sarah was just as fierce, standing off to the side and unleashing powerful bursts of magic. Fire and gravitational force erupted from her hands, slamming into the attacking warriors and sending them flying. But the leader wasn't without his own tricks. With a grim smile, he pulled out a device from his belt—a magic neutralizer. He activated it, and slowly, Sarah's power began to wane. As Sarah felt her strength fading, she realized what was happening. Thinking quickly, she opened a portal. "Mrs. Charlton! Get your family inside!" she yelled. Mrs Charlton, still reeling from the chaos, grabbed her children and husband, ushering them through the portal as the battle raged on around them." Tamara, we need to go! Sarah called out, her voice urgent. Tamara was lost in the heat of the fight, enjoying the thrill as she cut down the warriors. But Sarah's shout snapped her back to reality. She turned and began making her way toward the portal, her sword still glinting with the blood of the fallen warriors. Just as Tamara was about to reach the portal, the leader of the Knight Warriors fired an arrow straight at her. Sarah saw it out of the corner of her eye, but there wasn't time to warn Tamara. Without hesitating, she threw herself in front of her friend, dragging Tamara into the portal as the arrow embedded itself in Sarah's side. Sarah screamed in pain as the arrow struck, and they both tumbled through the portal. But Sarah couldn't close the portal immediately—the pain was too great. As the portal lingered open, a few knight Warriors, including the leader, dove in after them.

As the portal closed, it dispersed the group across different paths in the dense forest. Mirabel and Mrs. Charlton found themselves on one path, while Ms. Charlton's husband and daughter were on another. Tamara and Sarah were each taken to separate parts of the forest, and the Knight Warriors scattered as well, each wandering aimlessly, trying to find their way out. Meanwhile, Sarah lay on the cold forest floor, her breath shallow as she felt life slipping from her body. In her last moments, she saw a deer passing by. With her remaining strength, she used her magic to call the deer closer. She transferred her power into the animal before her eyes closed, and her life ebbed away. The deer, now imbued with Sarah's magic, darted back into the depths of the forest. Not long after, Mrs. Charlton and Mirabel stumbled upon Sarah's lifeless body. They rushed to her, calling her name, hoping for a sign of life. Mirabel gently laid her head on Sarah's chest, listening for a heartbeat, but there was nothing. Mrs. Charlton's husband and daughter arrived shortly after, followed by Tamara. When Tamara saw Sarah's body, her heart sank. Mrs. Charlton, with a sorrowful voice, said, "I'm sorry, we lost her." Tears welled in Tamara's eyes as she knelt beside her friend. "I will miss you," she whispered, closing Sarah's eyes with trembling hands. Before she could say more, the presence of the Knight Warriors interrupted her. Tamara stood up, her face hardening with resolve. She motioned for Mrs. Charlton and her family to stay behind her, then drew her sword, preparing for battle. The Knight Warriors leader stepped forward, eyeing Tamara. "Leave her to me," he ordered his men. "Let's see how skilled she truly is." He unsheathed his sword and lunged at Tamara.

Their fight was fierce and brutal, with the clash of steel ringing through the forest. Tamara met the Knight leader's strikes with precision, her movements fluid and fierce. She parried his attacks with expert skill, her sword cutting through the air as she countered with swift, lethal blows. The leader was strong, his strikes carrying a brutal force that tested her strength, but Tamara's agility allowed her to dodge and weave between his relentless assaults. The forest seemed to hold its breath as the two warriors danced in a deadly battle. The Knight leader swung his sword in a wide arc, aiming for Tamara's side, but she ducked just in time, countering with a sharp upward slash that barely missed his chest. He growled in frustration, his eyes narrowing as he pressed harder, his attacks becoming more aggressive. Tamara felt the weight of the battle starting to bear down on her. The Knight leader was relentless, his strength far surpassing hers. She could feel her muscles burning, her breath growing ragged. With a mighty swing, the leader knocked one of her swords out of her hand, sending it flying into the underbrush. Now left with only one sword, Tamara gritted her teeth and held her ground. She could feel the ground shifting beneath her feet, but she refused to back down. The Knight leader smirked, sensing victory. "Is this all you've got?" he taunted, his voice dripping with arrogance. In a blur of motion, he struck again, delivering a punch to Tamara's ribs that sent her reeling backward. Pain shot through her side as she staggered, trying to regain her footing. Before she could recover, he followed up with a vicious kick that sent her flying across the clearing. Her back collided with a tree trunk, and she collapsed to the ground, gasping for air. The Knight leader approached slowly, savoring his impending victory. His men watched in silence, their eyes gleaming with anticipation. Tamara struggled to stand, her vision blurring from the pain. She knew she couldn't give up now, but her body was failing her. As the leader loomed over her, ready to deliver the final blow, Tamara's fingers brushed against her arm bangle. With the last ounce of strength she had, she whispered Henry's name. A portal ripped open, and Henry emerged, his appearance fearsome and commanding. Without hesitation, he used his magic to trip the Knight leader, crushing him under its force. The leader's body collapsed to the ground, lifeless. Seeing Henry's terrifying power, the remaining Knight Warriors immediately bowed, their faces pressed to the ground. Henry's eyes scanned the group, his voice cold. "Who's in charge now?" The second-in-command stepped forward, trembling."Where is the magic cylinder?" Henry demanded. This object, he gave them, which was the source of their supernatural strength.

The second-in-command gestured, and the magic cylinder was brought before Henry. With a flick of his hand, Henry used his magic to reduce it to ashes." Your powers are gone," Henry declared. "Drink my blood again, and it will be the end of you. Your reign ends today. Now leave. Without another word, the Knight Warriors fled into the forest, terrified of what Henry might do next. Turning his attention to Tamara and the others, Henry caught sight of Mrs. Charlton. Recognition flickered in her eyes. "Henry? Is that you? She asked, stunned. Henry smiled, though guilt was evident on his face. "Yes, it's me, Mrs. Charlton. I remember you," she said softly. "You were just a boy back then. You, you're behind all this? Henry nodded solemnly. "Out of desperation. I was trying to escape the shadows of what my sister thought I was the cause of. But now, I'm ending it, right here, right now." Mrs. Charlton placed a hand on his arm. It's okay, Henry. You've done the right thing by ending it. Henry turned to Tamara. "I need the bag," he said, nodding towards the one lying next to Sarah's body. Tamara retrieved the bag and handed it to him. "The six-star power is complete," Henry said, taking the bag. I will give it to the great wizard, and he will destroy it. Once that happens, any blood drinkers hiding around Uptown and beyond will be freed from the curse of the dark power. He pointed to the rising sun in the east. "It's time to go." As Henry prepared to leave, Tamara called out, "Wait, how are we supposed to get out of here? Aren't you forgetting something? Henry smiled at her knowingly. "What's on your arm, Tamara? Tamara looked down at her arm and saw the armband. A grin spread across her face. With a quick motion, she activated it, creating a portal. With a final glance at Henry, she led the group through the portal, arriving safely at Mrs. Charlton's home.
