Chapter 49 - The Demons Destroyed, End of the drink blood pandemic.

The scene shifts At the Great Vampire Wizard Temple, the air was thick with anticipation as Henry handed over the bag to the Great Wizard. Inside, the six containers held the essence of the dark powers they had gathered, each one pulsating with a sinister energy. The Great Wizard, with a solemn nod, carefully placed the containers atop the sacred altar of the temple. With his hands raised, the Great Wizard summoned his ancient magic, his voice chanting in a language long forgotten by most. The containers vibrated violently, then began to dissolve into ashes, their physical form breaking down under the immense power the Wizard invoked. From the ashes emerged a dark purple ghastly substance, swirling and twisting in the air as it coalesced into a single, ominous ball of dark power.Henry watched intently from behind, his gaze fixed on the dark mass. The tension in the room was palpable as the Wizard, with a flick of his wrist, levitated the ball of power into the air. The purple glow from it cast eerie shadows across the temple walls. With one final, decisive motion, the Wizard hurled the ball into the pit of eternal fire that burned at the center of the temple. The flames roared as they consumed the dark power, and the substance dissolved with a hiss, disappearing into the fire's depths. The Great Wizard lowered his hands and turned to Henry. "It is done," he said, his voice calm but laced with a sense of finality. Henry stepped forward, a mixture of relief and uncertainty on his face. What next? He asked, his voice low, as if the weight of everything that had happened was finally catching up with him. The Great Wizard paused, his gaze distant as though peering into the unseen future. "The next step," he said slowly, "is to end the reign of the vampires and reverse the curse that has plagued the land. But do not worry—everything is unfolding as planned." Henry furrowed his brow, sensing there was more to the Wizard's cryptic words. And Sarah? What she did with the white power—"Sarah has passed the white power into a deer," the Great Wizard interrupted, his voice calm. That power now resides in nature itself, but it won't remain hidden.

Richard, unknowingly, will find and consume it. And when he does, the balance of power will shift." Henry's eyes widened. "Richard will absorb the white power?" The Great Wizard nodded. "Yes, but he won't understand its full significance until the right moment. Watch closely, Henry. The fate of many rests on how this unfolds. You must be prepared." As the Wizard turned to leave, Henry stood silently, the weight of this revelation settling over him like a thick fog. He had come this far, but there was still so much more to be done. Meanwhile, in the dark tunnel, Richard and Elena moved quickly. Elena's hunger gnawed at her, her strength waning."I'm hungry," she whispered to Richard, her voice strained. Richard glanced at her. "It's still dark. Let's see what we can find in the forest." With a shared understanding, the two of them left the tunnel and sped into the dense woods, their vampire senses on high alert. As they moved deeper into the forest, Richard's sharp eyes caught sight of a deer grazing near a thicket. In a split second, he leaped forward, seizing the deer by the neck and sinking his fangs into its flesh. As the warm blood filled his mouth, Richard felt a strange surge of energy—something different, something powerful. Unbeknownst to him, the white power that Sarah had transferred into the deer now flowed into his veins. Richard's eyes flickered from red to an unnatural, glowing white for a brief moment, before dimming back to normal. He didn't notice the change, but something deep within him had shifted. He carried the drained deer back to Elena. She opened her mouth, and a few drops of blood passed from the deer into her. The hunger in her subsided, and a sense of satisfaction washed over her.

We need to get back," Richard said, sensing the approaching dawn. "The sun is rising fast." Without wasting another moment, they returned to the safety of the tunnel, unaware of the great change that had already begun.

Deborah sat in her chamber, surrounded by the echoes of the tunnel, her thoughts a storm of frustration and regret. Once a dominant force, her vampire kind had been reduced to living in shadows, fearful and hunted. How did it come to this? She mused, staring at the dim walls. Her mind churned with memories of their former glory, only to be interrupted by a sudden presence. Henry appeared, his figure blending seamlessly with the gloom of the tunnel. His sudden arrival startled Deborah, her hand instinctively reaching for the dagger at her side." Hello, Deborah," Henry's voice was smooth, carrying an undertone of calculated charm." Hey, Henry," Deborah greeted warily, her eyes narrowing. "It's been a long time." Yes. Where have you been?" she asked, curiosity laced with suspicion. Henry waved a dismissive hand. "That doesn't matter now." His gaze swept over her, taking in the weariness on her face and the state of their surroundings. "Now look at you... reduced to this. Ash," Henry repeated, his voice dripping with mock pity. Deborah clenched her jaw, fighting the urge to lash out. "What do you expect me to do?" she asked, her tone cold. Henry stepped closer, a faint smile playing on his lips. "Why do you ask, as if you care?" Ask as if you care," she shot back. Henry's smile widened, his eyes glinting. "I do care, Deborah. That's why I came. I have a plan for you." Deborah's interest piqued. "A plan? What plan?" she asked, her voice betraying a mix of skepticism and hope. From within his coat, Henry pulled out a small, intricately designed bangle. Its surface shimmered with an otherworldly glow. "Put this on. It's no ordinary bangle—it's magic." Deborah hesitated before reaching for it. "What kind of magic? Several kinds," Henry began, watching her closely. "First, it will make you invisible, allowing you to move with the breeze. You can enter anywhere unnoticed. Second, it gives you the power to erase memories—make someone forget everything they know. And third," he paused for effect, "it lets you change your appearance. You can wear anyone's face." Deborah's eyes widened as she absorbed the power of the bangle. "So, what's the plan?" she asked, already intrigued. Henry leaned in, his voice lowering to a conspiratorial whisper. "You will infiltrate the government house. First, you'll infect the mayor. Turn him into one of us." Deborah's eyes widened in surprise. "The mayor?" she echoed. "You want me to turn a human into a vampire deliberately? I've never heard you suggest something like that before." Henry smiled slyly. "People change, Deborah. And sometimes, circumstances demand us change too. If you turn the mayor, our kind will rise again. He will protect us, and we'll no longer be hunted. The killing of vampires will be forbidden, and we'll be treated as equals." Deborah's mind raced. "Damn, that's a brilliant idea. Why didn't I think of it sooner?" She gazed at the bangle in her hand, the possibilities unfolding before her." But Henry, how do I know this magic won't fail?" she asked, still wary. Henry's smile didn't falter. "It has limits. Don't overuse it, and it will serve you well. Just follow the plan, and soon, you'll have the power to restore what we've lost." Deborah nodded, determination hardening her features. "Alright, I'm in. Tonight, I'll make my move."Good," Henry said, his figure fading into the shadows. "Don't disappoint me." As soon as he disappeared, Deborah rushed back to her pack, her heart racing with a mix of fear and excitement. She gathered them and shared the secret plan, her voice filled with renewed confidence. The night would bring a turning point for all of them.As night fell, Deborah steeled herself and sped toward the city with supernatural swiftness. Reaching the government house, she activated the bangle's magic, feeling herself vanish into the wind. She moved unseen, like a breeze, slipping into the house through an open window. Inside, the mayor lay fast asleep in his bedroom, while his secretary, Maria, had just left the bed to use the restroom. Deborah waited in the shadows until Maria emerged, then swiftly grabbed her, pressing a cloth laced with a sulfuric substance over her face. Maria's struggles faded as she passed out. Deborah dragged her into the restroom, binding her hands and feet before turning her attention to the mayor. She discarded her clothes and, with a thought, transformed her face into that of an unknown woman. She slid into the bed beside the mayor, careful not to wake him. Her movements were calculated as she reached for her phone and snapped several photos. She smirked, exposing her vampire fangs, savoring the moment. Pulling the blanket aside, she exposed the mayor's body, capturing more compromising images. Then, with a predatory gleam in her eyes, she lowered her fangs to his arm, sinking them in just enough to leave a faint mark. The mayor stirred briefly, but the bite was so quick he didn't wake. Deborah immediately used the bangle's magic to heal the surface, leaving no visible trace, though the venom had already begun its slow journey into his bloodstream. Soon, you'll be one of us, she thought, satisfied. Her task complete, Deborah slipped out of bed and returned to the restroom. She quickly put her clothes back on and reverted her face to its true form. Before leaving, she untied Maria, who was still unconscious. With a gentle breath, Deborah used the bangle's magic to wake her. Maria blinked awake, confused and disoriented, not remembering a thing. Deborah, now invisible again, watched as Maria stumbled back to bed, clueless about what had just occurred. With a final glance, Deborah turned into the breeze and slipped out of the government house, flying back to the tunnel where her pack awaited her return. As she arrived, her mind raced with excitement. Soon, the mayor would turn, and the power balance would shift in their favor. The era of hiding in shadows was nearing its end.
