As the vampires approached the fisherman and his wife, they held up a picture of Tamara. One of them, a tall female vampire named Lilith, spoke first. Have you seen anyone like this? She handed the picture over. The fisherman glanced at the picture, keeping his expression neutral. No, I haven't. His wife, Mary, shook her head nervously. No, we haven't seen anyone. Lilith narrowed her eyes, studying their faces. She turned to the rest of the vampires and gave a dismissive wave. "Let's go." But before they could leave, another vampire named Vex stopped them. His instincts flared, telling him something was off. "Wait," he growled. We need to search this place. Thoroughly. His gaze fixed on the small hut behind them. "Start with the house." As the vampires began moving toward the hut, the fisherman quickly blocked their path. You have no right to search my home. I told you, no one is here! Lilith's patience snapped. Without warning, she delivered a powerful backhand slap that sent the fisherman flying to the ground, gasping for air. Mary screamed and rushed to his side, her eyes wide with fear. Please, please don't kill us! I will tell you the truth! Lilith smirked, but Vex stepped forward, his tone mocking. Oh, so now you want to tell the truth? Where is she? Mary, trembling and desperate, glanced at her husband before looking up at the vampires. She, she's in the house. Please don't hurt us. Lilith's eyes gleamed with malicious delight. So you lied to us. There are consequences for that. She turned to Vex. "What should we do with them?" Vex grinned darkly. Perhaps we feast on them... or maybe we turn them into our kind. We do need to bolster our numbers. Without hesitation, one of the vampires grabbed the fisherman by the throat, lifting him effortlessly off the ground. His legs dangled as he gasped for breath, struggling to free himself. At that moment, Sarah, a skilled scientist with supernatural abilities, approached the scene. Mary's eyes lit up with hope—Sarah was her sister. Seeing the danger Mary and her husband were in, Sarah didn't waste any time. "What's going on here?" Sarah demanded, her voice sharp as she stepped forward. The vampires turned to face her, sizing her up. Lilith sneered. Who are you? You should mind your own business if you know what's good for you. Sarah's expression was unflinching. I suggest you release him. You're clearly in the wrong place. Lilith signaled a male vampire with a tilt of her head. He rushed toward Sarah with deadly speed, but she was ready. With a flick of her wrist, she used her magic to seize the vampire midair, freezing him in place. Her eyes glowed with power as flames erupted from her hands, consuming the vampire in seconds. His agonized scream echoed in the air before he disintegrated into ashes. The remaining vampires were stunned, their confidence shaken as they watched their comrade burn to nothing. Lilith took a step back, her eyes wide with shock. What, What are you? Sarah's voice was cold and commanding. "Leave, or the rest of you will meet the same fate." Vex, his arrogance deflated, glanced at Lilith. They both knew they couldn't win this fight. He raised his hands in mock surrender. Fine. We're leaving. The vampires backed away slowly, defeated and humiliated, before disappearing into the shadows. Once they were gone, Sarah rushed to help Mary and her husband. "Are you okay? She asked, her voice soft now, filled with concern. Mary nodded, her voice shaky. Thank you, Sarah. You saved us. "We need to move out of here," Sarah said firmly. They'll be back, and next time, they won't come in lower numbers.
Sarah glanced at the door nervously, her voice filled with urgency. We need to get out of here right now. Before she could finish her sentence, Tamara stepped out of the hut, her legs wobbling beneath her. She tried to take another step but collapsed to the ground with a weak groan. "Oh no!" The hunter's wife rushed toward her. "Who is she?" Sarah asked, eyeing Tamara curiously as the fisherman, Mary's husband, approached. I saved her from drowning earlier today, the fisherman explained. "I think she's the one those people were looking for." Hmm, I see, And I can tell she's burning up, Sarah noted as she bent down, helping the hunter's wife carry Tamara back inside. Once inside, Sarah looked at Tamara intently. "Let me see if I can help." Mary, watching closely, was taken aback by what her sister was doing. Sarah, what are you doing? Where did you get these powers? Sarah sighed as she gently placed her hands over Tamara's wound, a soft glow emanating from her palms. Honestly, I'm still trying to figure that out myself. For the past three months, I've been experiencing strange things, this power; it's like it's growing, inside me. As Sarah continued her healing, Tamara twitched in discomfort, but after a few minutes, her breathing steadied.
Suddenly, her eyes fluttered open. And she took in her surroundings with wide eyes. Where, where am I? Tamara asked, her voice hoarse. Mary quickly moved to her side, helping her sit up slowly. "You're safe now," Mary reassured her. My husband pulled you out of the river. You were injured, but my sister here, she gestured to Sarah, "helped heal you." Tamara blinked and looked down at her side, where the wound had been. She touched the area, surprised to feel nothing but smooth skin. "You, healed me? She asked Sarah, incredulous. "How did you do that?" Sarah gave a slight nod. I've discovered some strange powers recently, and I've been trying to understand them. When I saw how badly hurt you were, I couldn't just leave you like that. Tamara's eyes softened in gratitude. Thank you. I don't know how to repay you. "No need," Sarah replied, a hint of curiosity in her tone. But I must ask, who are you? Why were those people after you? Tamara hesitated, glancing between Sarah, Mary, and the fisherman. After a deep breath, she spoke. I'm... a vampire. She said showing off her fangs.
And thank you, for saving me,Tamara said, sitting up slowly. I feel so much better now. But, who are you, really? Sarah hesitated before responding, her eyes dropping to her hands, which still shimmered faintly with magical energy. I don't fully understand what's happening to me, she began, her voice quiet but earnest. For the past three months, something inside me has been growing. I've been having these strange dreams and visions about people, people who aren't humans anymore. They've been possessed by some kind of dark force, a demonic power. They call themselves the 'Drink-Blood Society.' They kill and drink their victims' blood. Tamara listened intently as Sarah continued. In my dreams, I see myself fighting them, but it's like, like I'm meant to stop them, to end their reign of terror. But I don't know how or why. It doesn't make any sense. Mary, her sister, stood nearby, watching with concern. Sarah, this sounds so dangerous. But, how do you know all this? Where is it coming from? "That's what's so confusing," Sarah replied, shaking her head in frustration. "It's all tied to this book." She reached for an old, tattered book inside her bag. I've had it for a while now, but I can't read it. The language is foreign to me. I just know that whatever this power is inside me, this book holds the answers. But I can't decipher it. Tamara, now fully alert, glanced at the book in Sarah's hands. Curiosity sparked in her eyes as she gently took it from Sarah. "Let me see." As Tamara opened the book, the strange symbols and letters seemed to rearrange themselves in her mind. She could understand it, almost instinctively. Her fingers traced over the words. "It's Greek," she muttered, her eyes narrowing as she translated. 'Seek the ancient vampire wizard.' Sarah's eyes widened. What? A vampire wizard? Tamara nodded slowly, piecing it together. This wizard, he… Tamara paused for a moment, her fingers still resting on the ancient text. According to this, the ancient vampire wizard is the one who can help us understand the powers and fight this demonic force. Without him, we wouldn't stand a chance against the Drink-Blood-possessed people. Sarah leaned in closer, her heart racing. "Do you know where we can find him?" Tamara scanned the page further, her eyes widening as she read. It says... Somalia Island. That's where he resides. The mention of Somalia Island sent a shiver down Tamara's spine. Instantly, a flood of memories rushed back to her, memories she had tried to bury for years. She closed the book and looked at Sarah, her expression darkening. "What is it, Tamara?" Sarah asked, noticing the shift in her mood. Tamara exhaled slowly, her voice tense. "Somalia Island... I've been there before. Years ago, back when I was a student, we went on a scientific excursion... and something terrible happened. That was where... She paused, her voice faltering. Sarah and Mary exchanged a glance, both sensing that whatever Tamara was about to reveal would be important. "That was where the human vampires first emerged," Tamara finished, her voice barely a whisper.
