Chapter 39 - Revelation from the ancient vampires.

Tamara and Sarah followed Henry into the dark cave, their footsteps echoing softly against the rocky floor. The air inside was cold, and a damp smell clung to the walls. As they moved deeper, the cave's natural light faded, leaving only shadows dancing around them. "Henry," Tamara called out, trying to hide the nervousness in her voice, you still haven't told me why you're here. The last time we saw each other, everything was falling apart. I thought she paused, not wanting to finish her sentence. "I thought you were dead," she finally said, her voice quiet. Henry glanced over his shoulder but kept walking. I'll explain soon. Just trust me for now. Sarah, who had been silent, spoke up. "Tamara, are you sure we should trust him?" Tamara hesitated. I've known Henry for a long time. If he says he can lead us to the wizard, I believe him. They reached a wide chamber inside the cave, dimly lit by glowing crystals embedded in the walls. Henry stopped in front of a large stone door marked with strange symbols. "This is it," he said, his voice serious. "The entrance to the vampire wizard's lair." Tamara looked at the door, then back at Henry. "You've been here before?" Henry nodded. Yes. A long time ago. Without another word, he placed his hand on the stone door, and the symbols began to glow brighter. Slowly, the door creaked open, revealing a dark passage beyond. "Be careful from here on," Henry warned. The vampire wizard is powerful. He doesn't take kindly to intruders. Tamara took a deep breath, her grip tightening on the book. We're not here to intrude. We need his help. Henry gave her a look, one that seemed filled with both concern and understanding. "Just be prepared for anything." Together, the three of them entered the passage. The air inside was heavy, and the faint sound of whispers filled the silence. Tamara could feel the weight of the book in her hand, sensing the magic it held. As they walked deeper into the hallway, Sarah, who had been studying the surroundings, suddenly stopped. "Tamara, look at this." She pointed to a symbol on the wall, the same one that was in the book. "It's a protection seal," Tamara said, recognizing the mark. "But why would it be here?" Before they could ponder further, a low voice echoed from the shadows ahead. "So, you've come." Tamara and Sarah froze, while Henry stepped forward, his expression tense. Out of the darkness, a figure emerged. The ancient vampire wizard, tall and cloaked in black, his eyes glowing faintly in the dim light. You seek my wisdom, the wizard said, his voice like a distant echo. "But wisdom has a price." Tamara stepped forward, clutching the book. We're willing to pay that price. We need your help to stop a great threat. The wizard looked at her with cold, piercing eyes. I know. Tamara took a step closer, her eyes narrowing as she processed what the wizard had just said. "You know?" she asked again, her voice laced with curiosity. Just as she was about to take another step, a sudden hiss echoed from a nearby pit. A massive snake emerged, raising its head high as if scanning the visitors with cold, predatory eyes. The tension in the air thickened. Tamara froze, and Sarah instinctively stepped back, fear creeping over her face. But Harry, calm and collected, quickly intervened. Hello, buddy, Harry said gently, walking toward the snake. I brought them here. They're no threat. The snake's body relaxed, lowering its head as Harry approached it. He extended a hand, gently stroking the snake's scaled body. Hi, buddy, Harry repeated softly, almost like he was greeting an old friend.

Tamara, still on edge, turned to Harry. "What is going on here?" Harry glanced at her, then back at the snake, as the wizard left them to their conversation, busying himself with his work. I've been here for a long time, Tamara. Ever since... Deborah turned her back on me. He paused, eyes darkening at the memory. I knew there was something more behind how I ended up here. So I set out to discover what it was. That's how I found this island and the wizard. I've been living here ever since. Tamara raised an eyebrow, intrigued, as she pointed to the snake.

Harry nodded, smiling faintly. Yes, I know this snake well. It's been here as long as I have. But there's more to it than you realize. Tamara looked at him skeptically. "What do you mean?" Harry turned to her, his expression serious. This snake... It's the one that bit Michael back when we were students. Remember Michael? The one with the saber? Tamara's eyes widened, memories rushing back. Yes, I remember. But why? What happened? They say Michael broke one of its eggs, and that's why it attacked him, Harry explained. This snake isn't just any snake, Tamara. It's a vampire snake. Tamara gasped, her hand instinctively moving to her mouth. A vampire snake? So, that was the reason Michael was bitten? Harry nodded. Yes, Michael's fate was sealed when he disturbed the snake's nest. Now you know the truth. Tamara shook her head, overwhelmed by the revelation. I can't believe it. All this time, we thought it was something else. Harry smiled faintly. Well, now we know. But there's more going on here than just that. We need to understand what's happening out there, with Deborah and the others. Tamara nodded, gathering herself. Alright. Let's figure this out.

The wizard observed her with a curious gaze, as if gauging her resolve. Sarah stood beside her, glancing nervously at the snake before returning her focus to the ancient vampire wizard."What do we need to do?" Sarah asked, her voice a mix of anxiety and determination. The wizard gestured for them to follow him deeper into the cave. The answers you seek lie within the Chamber of Secrets. But be warned, the path is fraught with challenges that will test your strength and courage. As they ventured deeper into the cave, the atmosphere grew heavier, and the flickering light from the wizard's torch illuminated ancient symbols etched into the stone walls. Tamara felt a chill run down her spine as she recognized some of the markings; they were the same symbols from the magical book Sarah had been reading. These are prophecies which state everything happening in the human world today. The vampire wizard said, and continued. Vampires and the drink blood pandemic. They all happened for a reason.  The vampire wizard's voice echoed through the dimly lit chamber as he recounted the ancient tale, his gaze piercing through the flickering shadows. Many centuries ago, in a small village known as Hollow Creek, there was a devastating outbreak of dark, demonic witchcraft. The witches, driven by their evil desires, wreaked havoc on the villagers, twisting the very fabric of reality to suit their evil will. His eyes flickered with memories long buried. "I was human once," he continued, a monk studying the art of magic. Our days were filled with learning, seeking knowledge that would help us protect the innocent. But the witches used the village's annual carnival, a day of joy and celebration-to sow chaos. Every year, they would seize the opportunity to expand their ranks, enslaving more souls to their wicked cause. The wizard's expression hardened as he spoke of the villagers' desperation. When the village elder could take no more, he sought help from the magical institution where I was training. A special squad of monks was formed, and I was among them. With our magic, we liberated many from the witches' demonic grip. But there were six masters of the dark arts whose powers defied us. Whenever we tried to attack them, they warped reality, turning our efforts to dust. He paused, his voice lowering as he shared the turning point in his life. I knew we couldn't win without greater power, so I sought the ancient forces for help. I sacrificed my life in exchange for the power of light and a magic book containing secrets beyond any human's comprehension. With this new power, I managed to bind the six demonic masters into six containers, trapping their essence. But even with this victory, I realized I was not wise enough to fully destroy them. I buried both the power of light and the magic book, knowing that one day they would be unearthed, and the evil would rise again, the vampire wizard said, his voice heavy with the weight of the centuries that had passed. "I knew that when that time came, only someone chosen by fate, someone worthy, could wield the power of light to confront the darkness." His gaze shifted back to Sarah, locking onto her with an intensity that made the air feel thick and charged. And now, you are that someone, Sarah. You are the one who carries the power of light, the only force capable of standing against the evil that has been unleashed. Sarah's eyes widened, her mind reeling. "Me?" she whispered, her voice barely audible. But I don't understand. How? Why me? The wizard nodded slowly, his voice softening. The power of light chooses its bearer, just as darkness chooses its masters. Your strength, your will, and the light within you are why you were chosen. You were meant for this. He took a deep breath, his ancient face etched with the burdens of knowledge and sacrifice. Because of the sacrifices I made, I could no longer live among humans. My body changed, twisted by the magic I wielded, and my appearance became a curse. But I continued my studies in isolation, mastering the arts that would one day help destroy the creatures the witches left behind. He stepped closer to Sarah, his eyes dark and serious. Now, I have learned the way to destroy them once and for all. But the task will not be easy. It will require you to wield the power of light, and with it, confront the six dark masters who still hold sway over their cursed followers. You must be ready for the battle ahead. Sarah swallowed hard, her mind spinning with the weight of the responsibility thrust upon her. She felt the power of light stirring inside her, but it was unfamiliar, a force she had yet to understand fully. Yet, something within her told her that the vampire wizard was right. This was her destiny.
