Chapter 28 - Tamara Exposed Deborah's secret.28.

The scene continues in the vampire facility and Tamara's speech.

And they are our shared enemy. But with this facility, we can stop unnecessary deaths. We can teach others to control their hunger and respect human life. Tamara's tone became firm again. This is the start of a new era. The government and I will work together to make sure both humans and vampires are safe. This is not just a sanctuary for vampires—it's a commitment to peace. The journalist, clearly moved, leaned forward. So, what you're saying is that, with the proper support, vampires can live in harmony with humans? Yes, Tamara replied, her voice steady. We are not mindless predators. We are people with extraordinary conditions, and we want to be part of society just as much as anyone else. This facility will help make that possible. The journalist nodded, then turned to the camera. You've just heard from Tamara, the leader of the vampires. A powerful message of unity and hope for the future of humans and vampires alike. The broadcast ended, and Tamara stood there for a moment, letting out a deep breath as the weight of her words settled in. She had taken the first step into a new world, one where she and her kind could finally have a place.

On a bright Monday morning, Mrs Charlton and Mr Reed, accompanied by a few state FBI officials, arrived at the government facility to meet with Tamara. The guards at the entrance, recognizing their importance, immediately escorted them through the secured corridors toward Tamara's office. As they approached her apartment-like quarters, a sense of quiet efficiency filled the air. The building was bustling with vampires and government workers alike, each tending to their assigned duties in this new, delicate collaboration. Welcome, Mrs Charlton, Mr Reed, one of the guards said politely, leading them to a large door. "Tamara is expecting you." The door opened to reveal a well-furnished office, simple yet elegant. Tamara sat behind her desk, dressed in a dark, professional suit, with her thick curtain drawn to block out the harmful sunlight. She stood up as her visitors entered, offering a polite smile. Mrs Charlton, Mr Reed, Tamara greeted, extending her hand. It's good to see you again. Congratulations on getting this initiative up and running, Mrs Charlton said warmly. The government is pleased with the progress so far, and so am I. Thank you, Tamara responded, motioning for them to sit. They settled into plush chairs while the guards stationed themselves discreetly by the door, ensuring the meeting remained private. Once they were comfortable, Mrs Charlton leaned forward. Now, let's discuss the next phase. We've got intel on Deborah and her group, thanks to you. Tamara nodded. The location I gave you earlier is solid. It's where Deborah and her loyalists are hiding. But we need to strike fast before they move again. Mr Reed tapped a folder in front of him. The government is considering a missile strike at dawn tomorrow. It will wipe out their base entirely. Tamara frowned slightly. I understand the need for a swift response, but a full-scale strike might cause collateral damage. There may be innocents nearby. Mrs Charlton nodded thoughtfully. We've taken that into account. The surrounding area has been cleared, and our surveillance indicates minimal risk of unintended casualties. As they discussed the logistics of the attack, the atmosphere in the room grew tense. The conversation was focused and serious, outlining precise strategies and backup plans should Deborah retaliate. Little did they know, outside the office, danger lurked. Standing nearby, a young vampire, one of the members of the facility, appeared to be attending to her duties. But in reality,

She was a spy, deeply loyal to Deborah, planted within the facility to gather intelligence and ensure that Deborah's plans remained undisturbed. Her name was Selene, a sharp-witted and highly observant vampire who had gained Tamara's trust over the weeks by appearing as one of the newly cooperative vampires. But now, as she stood outside Tamara's office, her heightened senses picked up every word of the conversation taking place inside.  Back in the room, Mr Reed chimed in. We've authorized a missile strike. It'll be launched early tomorrow morning, targeting the heart of her hideout. The FBI officials murmured in agreement, nodding at the strategic importance of the plan.  Outside the door, Selene's eyes narrowed. A missile strike? She needed to get this information to Deborah immediately. She pretended to continue her duties as a guard, but her mind was racing, formulating a plan.

Now back inside Tamara's office, Tamara still has a secret of Deborah to disclose. She glanced at Mrs Charlton with her eyes narrowed as she spoke.

But there's something else, something far worse that you need to know. She paused, gauging the reactions of the agents. Mrs Charlton leaned in slightly, her eyes narrowing as she waited for Tamara to continue. It's about the Chivay Orange Juice Factory, Tamara said, her voice low. "It's not what it seems." The agents exchanged puzzled glances. What do you mean? Mrs Charlton asked. It's a blood farm, Tamara stated bluntly. The room went silent. They're pretending to run an orange juice business, but inside, human beings are drained of their blood. It's a cover for something horrific. Mrs Charlton's eyes widened. "Are you saying they've been running a human blood farm under the guise of a juice factory? Tamara nodded grimly. Yes. I've seen it. They keep the bodies hidden behind a secret door in the factory. You won't find anything on the surface, but if you get inside... it's horrifying. Mrs Charlton stood abruptly, her face set with determination. "We need to move now." She turned to her team. Get the warrants. We are heading to that factory right away. The military will take care of Deborah's location. We're shutting that place down.

As the meeting wrapped up, the officials stood, preparing to leave. "We'll make sure everything's in place by dawn," the lead agent said. Mrs Charlton nodded, shaking his hand. "We'll be in touch." As Tamara escorted them to the door, Selene reappeared, giving Tamara a small smile. "Everything alright?" Tamara asked her, oblivious to the duplicity in Selena's demeanor. Selene nodded, her eyes shimmering with feigned sincerity. "Yes, just wanted to check in before your big meeting." She brushed a stray strand of hair behind her ear, her heart racing as she assessed the mood in the room. How did it go? Really well, actually, Tamara replied, her voice brimming with optimism. We've solidified our plans to take down Deborah and her group. The government is fully behind us now. Selene's stomach twisted, but she kept her expression neutral. "That's great news." Her mind whirred with the urgency of her earlier call to Deborah, the information still fresh in her thoughts. She had to act quickly. Is there anything I can do to help? Just keep an eye on things here, Tamara said, giving her a reassuring smile. We need all the support we can get. Of course, Selene replied, suppressing the urge to grimace. She watched as Tamara and the officials exchanged pleasantries before the door closed behind them. As the echoes of their footsteps faded, Selene turned on her heel, her resolve hardening. She couldn't let this attack happen, not when she had a chance to protect her kind. She pulled out her phone and sent a quick message to Deborah, letting her know the details of the meeting and the imminent threat.
