"I knew something was fishy when I touched his body after the lexicon ritual." Shawn remarked and smiled. Taking a few steps forward, Shawn reached out to touch Ethan's body but instantly lightning struck the area around Ethan. Fortunately for Shawn he was able to avoid harm though barely.
"Harm my master, and you will learn why even the gods fear the dragons." A deep and thunderous voice echoed through the skies and made even the ground tremble beneath Shawn's feet. "Is that you, Aurethros?" Shawn asked, his eyes glowing violet this time. Instantly, the air in the area started becoming unstable. It got so abnormal that it started felling trees. Slowly, a huge being manifested around the mountain on which they were. With the dust from the violent wind still in the environment, the being couldn't be seen clearly.
"There will be only one person to call me by that name." The being said with its deep voice which made the ground tremble more. The being then blew some air clearing up the dust around and making itself clearly visible. The being was not just any simple being it was a long lightning dragon. Its frightening length of about five hundred (500) metres, coiled around the mountain as if a snake preying on a young.
Its scales shimmer in hues of blue, silver, and violet, reflecting the dark storm clouds above. The dragon's back was ridged with sharp, jagged spines that seemed to crackle with the energy of the storm, sparking with static at every movement.
Its head was adorned with long, flowing horns that twisted like bolts of lightning, sharp and angular, as though the storm itself had forged them. Its eyes glowed with a brilliant, electric blue, intense and unblinking, like twin orbs of thunder. The dragon's mouth, when it opened, revealed teeth like jagged shards of glass.
A massive, whip-like tail trailed behind the dragon, crackling with raw electrical power. It moved fluidly, its movements so fast that it's often a blur—a streak of light in the sky. "Darion Valtor." The dragon said with its deep voice that continued making the earth tremble beneath Shawn's feet. "You usually do not show yourself like this." Shawn said coldly as it seemed as if his personality had changed.
"So this is the body you deemed worthy of your power after our division happened?" The dragon questioned. "Yes, and he has proven it." Shawn said.
"And so this is your new master?" Shawn asked whiles pointing at Ethan. "I do not know how this happened. But this must be what they call: fate." The dragon said and looked at Ethan who still hadn't woken up.
A few seconds later Ethan opened his eyes but got frightened immediately that his soul could abandon his body. "Wh... Wh... Wh... What is going on?" Ethan shouted as he couldn't believe his sight. "Calm down, Ethan." Shawn said softly reassuring Ethan that everything was alright. "His body seems to be physically good but his soul is too weak." The dragon remarked. "You noticed that quite early." Shawn stated. "But I will take care of that." The dragon said encouragingly.
" Sir Shawn, why is this dragon here." Ethan asked fearfully. "He is a part of your power." Shawn answered evasively. "You are also mocking me." Ethan said sadly. "Why should I mock you? Look behind you." Shawn said and Ethan did so. "Who do you think that is for?" Shawn asked pointing at a lightning lexicon that had manifested and was behind Ethan. The Lexicon looked like a normal book just that it lightning running all around it.
"That is your lexicon, master." The dragon said and shrunk into a twenty (20) feet long dragon as it miraculously stood in the air infront of Ethan. "My lexicon." Ethan said and stretched his hands to touch. As if being commanded the lexicon moved closer to Ethan till he held it in his palms. "It's true. Madam Bailey once said: a lexicon will never allow another person to touch it. Which means this is really my lexicon." Ethan said after remembering some teachings from Madam Bailey. "It is your lexicon but it still has more work to be done about it. This is not how your real lexicon should look like. But we will can start our training from tomorrow, master. Then, I shall go back to where I came from." The dragon stated and swam at full speed towards Ethan entering his head.
"Where did he go? Did he enter my head? Wait, he called me master. But how am I a master to a legendary lightning dragon..." The questions just kept on flowing till Shawn stopped Ethan from overthinking. After the dragon had entered Ethan's head his body started feeling quite strangely as it seemed as if his hair slightly defied gravity. "It's okay. We can discuss about this tomorrow. For the meantime keep this a secret. Now you must get home. Mom was really worried." Shawn said. "But how do we do that?" Ethan asked now realising where they were. "Actually I can't see any Urban settlements around. But I think Nyxslayer should get us back in town." Shawn assuredly. "Who is Nyxslayer? And where is he? Ho..." "Will you just keep quiet for sometime?" Shawn lashed out at Ethan.
"Yes." Ethan replied and sat on the ground. "Nyxslayer." Shawn said and immediately a hole appeared in front of him filled with darkness and slowly Nyxslayer ascended out of it. "Uh..." Ethan was about to speak again but a glare from Shawn put him in place. "Nyxslayer, use your portal to get us back in town." Shawn commanded. "Yes my lord." Nyxslayer said and turned facing away from Shawn. "Nyx's veil." Nyxslayer said and slowly the whole place darkened more as Shawn, Ethan and Nyxslayer himself got covered by their own shadows before disappearing.
In the next second Ethan found himself at the doorstep of his house. "Take care." Ethan heard Shawn say from afar but turned and saw no one. "That skill is amazing. What did that man call it again. Uh... Nyx's veil. Yeah." Ethan said before opening the door to enter the house. "Mom, big brother is back." Rhea called out out her mother immediately Ethan entered the house. "Sir Shawn, assured me that you'll come safely so it's alright no apologies." Mia said. "Yes, mum." Ethan said joyfully after seeing her mother once happy again.
*The Next day*
"All first year students are to pay attention to how they are going to be assigned to a specific class according to the lexicons." Clara, Divine Lexicons Academy's voice assistant started it's announcement. All the students in their classrooms immediately stopped what they were doing and paid attention to Clara. " All first year students with their lexicons solely based on magic example is that of elementals will move to class 1 - A. And the rest of the students will move to class 1 - E. And that is all for your announcements have a nice day." Clara announced.
After the announcements all the students rushed to the classes they have been assigned to in hope of gaining new friends early and also getting a better place to sit. All this while Ethan was confused not knowing which class to move to as Shawn had told him earlier to keep his power a secret from everyone. "Hey, Ethan." Shawn approached Ethan from the crowd. "You'll be in my class. Class 1 - B. You better not let me down." Shawn said and patted Ethan on the shoulders. "I'll never let you down." Ethan assured Shawn as the walked down the school's hallway to the class.
"Good morning, my students." Shawn said right when he entered the class with Ethan. "What is he doing here?" Some of the students questioned and pointed hands at Ethan. "Making them to accept you as one of them wouldn't be easy you must show your resolve." Shawn whispered to Ethan. "This is Ethan Fen. He will also be a member of this class. And I'm your homeroom teacher, Clarke Shawn but you can call me Sir Shawn." Shawn introduced both himself and Ethan to make Ethan ease things up. "You can take that seat at the back." Shawn said and pointed at a desk at the far back of the class. "Yes, Sir Shawn." Ethan said and moved towards the desk.
Ethan was so shy that he couldn't raise his head to look at anyone till he reached his destination and sat down but still had to look out of the window to avoid any attention.
