Li Yuye was born a noble, a favored child of destiny. He had a principle: whatever he did, he expected something in return. So if he saved her, he was determined to gain something back.
As it turned out, he was more than satisfied...
His throat moved slightly as his deep gaze fixed on her. "You owe me nothing. No need for repayment."
"But if we're going to call it that, let's say you took advantage of me and didn't take responsibility."
Yun Zhiyi's eyes widened in shock. "Li Yuye, you're the one who insisted on this—how did it become me who took advantage of you?"
"It was your seduction," he said calmly.
Her delicate figure, which stirred his blood with such intensity, he found alluring to the point of temptation. If that wasn't seduction, what was?
Yun Zhiyi bit her lip, racking her mind to defend herself. "Once or twice you might call it seduction, but now that you're holding me here and asking me to stay, how is that my seduction? You want me to stay the night with you. Surely, that's not on me?"
She pulled her silk robe a little closer, covering herself completely. If even that was seduction, was there any room left in the world for reason?
"This is still seduction, isn't it?" he countered.
"...I suppose even breathing is wrong too, then?" she shot back.
Her frustration was clear. She had no idea what was going on in his head. Was it her fault just to look this way?
Growing angrier by the second, Yun Zhiyi felt like a volcano ready to erupt. "You say I seduced you, but you're the man, I'm the woman. Clearly, you're the one benefiting."
"And besides, that was my most precious first time. You weren't losing out at all!"
"Unlike you," she continued, "with your practiced moves and all your little tricks…who knows how many women you've been with before…"
Who he'd been with before wasn't her business. She didn't have the right to care.
All she wanted was for his hands to stay out of her affairs.
"So you're saying you're quite impressed with my…capabilities?" He slid his hand to her waist, his voice drenched with innuendo.
"Not at all!" she retorted. "Your skills are the worst! I was in pain the whole time—totally unsatisfactory."
"Oh, really?"
The grip on her waist tightened, pulling her onto his lap.
"Of course," she insisted. "Didn't you realize?"
"I remember it differently," he replied.
"Remember what?"
"That you clung to me in bed, begging me not to stop."
"You…mmph." She couldn't finish. His lips silenced her, muffling her protests.
The overwhelming surge of his masculine scent sent a spark through her, making her entire body go weak. As defiant as her words had been, her body was completely relaxed, like melting water.
Her hands instinctively wrapped around his neck to support herself, caught up in the intense moment he created.
When the kiss ended, his voice was a low murmur, "Let's test it then, see if my skills meet your standards…"
"No," she mumbled defiantly.
"Guess we'll need more rounds then?"
"You beast…!" Her words turned into muffled protests as he traced kisses down her neck, igniting emotions she struggled to control.
"Don't…bite," she whispered.
"Afraid he'll see?" he taunted softly.
"Obviously! How am I supposed to walk down the aisle with him covered in marks?" she muttered, her frustration clear.
She was treading close to his boundaries, but Li Yuye held back, his tone soothing.
"Fine. I'll go easy, hmm?"
The last thing he wanted was for her to end up in tears. So he softened his kisses, easing his intensity.
